  1. Same. In any case I'm looking forward to what the kid can do. Griffith, not Kyle's kid. But yeah, ... I wonder what he'll do too.
  2. C'mon with details please... Also, can I say just one more time "ANTICS" :w00t:
  3. What Wayne great was his understanding of angles. He didn't chase the puck, he knew where it was going to be and would meet the puck half way. Rebounds, deflections, pucks off the boards, it didn't matter, he was no grinder, but he was going to have possession first. He also understood angles defenders would take, and was a master at taking advantage of a defenders own momentum and moved accordingly to create seperation. His brain processed the game at a much faster speed than everyone else.
  4. Last I knew you can only scope a knee so many times.
  5. Best I got: torn knee ligaments are cumulative. As far as I know, high ankle sprains are not.
  6. I saw Nylander play in Rochester just before Christmas against the Marlies. I watched him closely. He floated in the slot, was slow to engage along the boards and was not successful when he did. He lacked physicality. I know that is not a snipers job to muck it up in the corners. Overall, I didn't think he added much in the offensive zone. In the defensive zone, he seemed to be waiting in the slot for a breakout pass which never came. Having said that, he had a goal and an assist in that game. Even those stat lines, I wasn't really impressed and I had a bias going in hoping he'd impress me. I was so impressed with those highlights of him that came out in his draft year. I really thought he'd be a 40 goal scorer. I don't think that now. I think he'll be a defensive liability and wont be more than a 3rd liner. And I really, really hope I'm wrong and just saw a bad overall game by him. BTW Guhle really impressed me. He joined the rush consistently. I think he's a bit light, and will need to bulk up more to be an effective defensive defenseman. But he was fun to watch offensively.
  7. I was at the Marlies game courtesy of Sakman (thank you again). Guhle impressed as he joined the rush repeatedly. Nylander disappointed though. First time I've seen him. He drifts in the slot, but the puck never makes it to him. He didn't show the ability to create much with the puck or the physiclaity to gain control of the puck. He was not a part of the first team power play. Just my observation though. Take to for what it's worth. I'm pulling for the guy, but am worried about him long term. And yes in the second period, I thought they dominated for long stretches, only to give up the tying goal with about 30 seconds left in the period. The team as a whole was entertaining and fast on this night. Better than many of the Sabres games.
  8. Hey, Duchene to Sabres.... is this a thing? < getting back on topic >
  9. 10 hours of No No No Cat song.... my God. Convicted prisoners should be forced to watch this in its entirety every day.
  10. And on Monday it will come up twice. Now that's news!
  11. This bothered me. It seems a bad plan to destroy foodstuffs in a coming war, with a coming winter. Yes, by all means, destroy the army. But Greyworm and the Unsullied at the very least could use the food. Grab some survivors, guard them with a couple of Dothraki, and take the supplies where they are needed.
  12. Why the love for Pouliot to be on the top line. Reading the Oil write up of him he was 'meh' last year?
  13. That was an awesome goal. My favorite is also one I'm fuzzy about. Hoping for some better minds to fill the gaps. Jack took a pass in the offensive zone a the top of the face off circle. He quickly glided to his left (I think) fired a shot on goal and finding the upper corner. But what made that ply remarkable is from a rear angle, the shot curved from right to left before finding the back of the net. It looked like it curved a good foot. He actually shot a curve ball with a hockey puck. The goalie was just stunned it went on.
  14. Most too young to remember the glory days? One of my favorite bands. Saw them 3 times (that I remember) in the early to mid 80s. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (and Gregg) RIP
  15. "Good play by Cal O'Riely. He used his pace perfectly" Dude, did you watch the play?
  16. Buffa - luck. :wallbash: When x = the number of blue chip players available in a given draft. Buffalo will pick x+1.
  17. they're going to commercial now, before they reveal the order of the top 3??
  18. One more thing in Gare's favor: he frequently played on the 2nd line. He didn't have Gil feeding him. IIRC, he played on the checking line with Luce and Ramsey as line mates.
  19. Danny Gare had a great wrist shot, and he was a 50 goal scorer twice. He also had a 46 goal year. 35 game winning goals in his Buffalo career. He was my favorite player growing up.
