  1. I can remember this for sure..... The other day in the Boston game I did notice how "active" Boston was in their defensive end, and didn't relate it to Rask at the time..... but it certainly makes sense. I'm on board......
  2. What makes a team "play better" in front of one goalie vs. another? Honest question. How does the goalie influence how the team will defend? I've seen some goalies(usually not wearing a Sabres jersey) make some long first passes on offense, so I can see where that could be strategic...... but I'd think the team defends to minimize opponent offensive opportunities regardless of who's in net.
  3. No, of course not....That would make anyone hoarse......But if you must know, here was the rotation..... Vesey....... all game..... BOOOOO Lundqvist....... 1st period..... and I think he heard me boo and that threw him off 18 seconds in...... now that I'm in his head, I'll probably boo him all game next time. Nash ......2nd period..... because ...... because........well, because he's Nash.... and he's PFG. 3rd period ...... I was so effin happy I forgot to boo........
  4. 'Cause that what you do as a fan....... Boo the other guy.
  5. I watched the game from 326 row 13...... there's only 14 effin rows...... But, it was a great perspective for seeing things develop and getting the big picture..... Lots of Rangers fans in the area, and in the arena in general..... Finally, a game where the crowd made some noise..... My personal contribution to the win was to BOO Vesey every time he touched the puck, although from that altitude, I may have missed a few..... Big Fun! I was really amazed watching O'Reilly in the warm up...... his puckhandling skills are unreal..... Seems the guy can touch the puck 8 - 10 times per second..... He'll skate around in the warm up putting the puck between guys skates as they stand there, or putting the puck under someone's leg as they stretch, or testing the boards for rebound...... I could watch his demonstration for hours..... it was really cool. With his on ice hustle, he's become my favorite player to watch......
  6. “I thought Sam Reinhart, especially in the third period dug in hard and battled against Crosby’s line. There were numerous stages in the third period where I thought that was the hardest and the best battle I’ve seen out of Sam and he did it against one of the best players in the game.” I also noticed a better 3rd period from Sam, but I keep having flashbacks to Hodgson......... He get's caught out of defensive position quite a bit, and I've never seen him hit anybody. It must be a luxury to have Sam defend you as you'd never have to worry about being physically checked. We keep hearing of his hockey IQ, but it seems to be offensive minded only ....... I've been in support of him since his draft, but he's starting to lose the lustre in my eyes....
  7. I am continually impressed with the play of ROR. It's the only good take-away I had from last night's game...............
  8. I really enjoyed the camaraderie JS brought to the locker room. The photo bombs during post games were the best...... the one(s) with the wolly mammoth coat were priceless..... I can't stop laughing.......
  9. And Ratface........ and Rene Rancourt..... there's just so much about Boston to hate......
  10. You "guys" look like you're dressed for 32, not 62.
  11. I hate the Bruins, and I hate that effin FOG HORN worse.................. Go Sabres..... Foligno mixes it up tonight........

  13. definitely not disappointed...... I saw more tape to tape, one touch passes in the Edmonton game than I saw all last season! Who was that team?
  14. As kids, we were allocated $0.10 each Sunday to go to the corner store..... my sister always bought 2 $0.05 candy bars, and I went for the penny candy......
  15. I'm an analog guy...... and I'm using an older flip-phone which is all scratched up.... I've got some pretty bad pics that I'll try to put up later today.....
  16. Gotta crow a little bit on this one....... landed a 5 - 6 lb "fantail" rainbow last night. I've been steelhead fishing for over 35 years, and probably have landed in the neighborhood of 2,500 steelhead over that time ..... but this is the 1st fantail I've ever seen in the flesh. The fish is in the freezer until her date with the taxidermist. and this is interesting..... http://sportingclassicsdaily.com/coyote-attacks-women-upstate-new-york/
  17. If you include facial hair...... none of the young guns can compete.......
  18. I'd say a lot of it was sloppy D............ https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/prospects-challenge-bos-vs-buf/t-277437090/c-44760503
  19. In general, they didn't show up until the 3rd........ being down 3 - 0 after one, I wondered how ugly it could get.....Bailey's persistance in front of the net paid off for a goal in the early 2nd and Nylander's goal in the 3rd was very slick. A little puck handling and a quick, accurate wrister from in front. But he's got a ways to go before being ready. Penalties hurt them.... Bailey, Fasching, Carrier all were solid but didn't really standout to me. In the 3rd the Sabres had extended periods of pressure in the Boston zone, but the overall theme of the game was a solid Boston forecheck. Kuraly's shortie for Boston in the 1st was also pretty sweet....... local player from Lewiston.
  20. Not sure if Fasching was dinged up at the development camp scrimmage, but to me he was a non-factor, and didn't contribute much....... in direct contrast to Carrier and Bailey. Those two displayed confidence..... especially Carrier. I'm looking forward to the Prospects Challenge (Sept. and not that far off). Last year, I remember being impressed with Fasching's puck control at times and I'm hoping for more of that.....
