  1. BNL tonight at Artpark.......... a little pre-game at NYBP..... Looking forward to a fun evening.
  2. The little brownies are gorgeous, as are your vice creations! Nice pics...........
  3. We got out but never touched a fish....... fished from about 5:15 til 7:15. A few marks from 70 - 90, some bait there also, but nobody wanted to play.... It was East wind when we started and when the wind picked up and switched to South, I figured that was a bad weather omen so we quit.
  4. Good luck with your evening trip. There's a good chance I'll be out tonight also, as long as there's no bad weather near ........ Black Crestliner Commander. Keep an eye on the radar and be careful.........
  5. Sod, I'm at work, and jealous........What port did you fish out of, and what depths of water did you work? How did your screen look? Fished yesterday out of Sandy, and it sure wasn't lights out...... we boated 2 Kings, 1 Steelhead, and 1 Laker between 6:15 and 9:30..... 75 - 130 FOW. All spoon bite, riggers at 60 - 75, and wire divers at 180..... Screen was marginal. We would have a few fish on the screen, and then nothing......
  6. I don't know if ROR gets booed...... but at the end of the game the Sabres get booed off the ice. After reading 30 pages and learning lots about hockey and a little about ROR's alcoholism, I'm of the opinion that the Sabres are a worse team without him. I certainly don't have the insight that alot of contributors have, but what I believe is that problems in the room have to be managed by the team..... and in general this means the coach. There have to be player disagreements on many teams that never come to the "we gotta trade that cancerous SOB" stage. I think it's unfortunate for the fans that the coach and team management couldn't do that in this case....... ROR is a hell of a hockey player. I will miss watching him play for the Sabres. The ROR trade pales in comparison to the rumor that Doug Allen will be traded to Boston for an ageing Rene Rancourt. Doug, who is known to have one of the best "camera points" in the league simply does not have the "fist pump" that Rene exhibits. One possible explanation for the trade is that Baylee Morrison has been getting some much needed minutes and seems to ready to fill the shoes of Rene. She displays a huge "cuteness factor", but does not yet have a signature move to really wow the crowd. Once again, the Sabres are leveraging the present for the future............
  7. adding on to what's here and on the camp thread, I thought Aquin had a couple of nice plays......... and Borgen was solid. No heart attack...... great beer at Thin Man
  8. Taro ....... very nice to meet you and I can't thank you enough for the tickets......The plan is to watch the 3 v 3, then visit Thin Man Brewing for a couple pints of brew, and top the afternoon off with a trip to Allen St. Poutine........ then maybe have a heart attack on the way home......
  9. I don't get how Jack can call guys out (or be a good captain) when he's guilty of the lazy line changes, body language, and hesitance to play defense....... and it's pure speculation on my part, but perhaps ROR has called out Jack on these shortcomings and that's what's part of the locker room rub. Perhaps ROR is attempting to hold Jack to a higher standard and it's causing some friction and a division "in the room". Jack is an elite athlete with superb skill and he's used to success, but I see some pouting behavior when things don't go right. Hopefully we won't see that in Dahlin, and Dahlin's demeanor will rub off on the players who need it most.
  10. So last week, you're breaking my stones about being on vacation and then you go and post pics like this? something about pots and kettles. you can always get your walleyes at the fish market.
  11. Taro........... If it doesn't work out with Ink, lemme know. I'd love to have them..... been going to the development camp for the last 5 or 6 years now, and am kinda pizzed at the way the tickets were handled for this one.
  12. Never knew that............. must have stopped at Section 22..............
  13. Dogfishhead 60's were the beginning of the craft beer "thing" for me....... they will always have a special place in my heart and fridge. The 120's are a touch "boozy" for me..... and the Genny Ruby Red Kolsch is a darn good lawnmoer beer...... light and refreshing.... Love the Brewpub
  14. For a couple of weeks now, I've been enjoying Three Heads "Strong Arm IPA"..... if you're in the area, getchasome................. hazy, juicy, mmmmmmm.
  15. It's hard for me to believe that we're a better team without O'Reilly in '18-'19. There's no way we get equivalent production from a realistic trade. It's also hard to believe that one players negativity could infect the room to the point that the team is dragged into 31st place.... with 19 optimistic, hard working teammates. I like ROR as a player, and hope to see him continue in that role. It may be hard for him to accept that he's not a leader, but "just" an outstanding individual contributor.
  16. Another unfortunate reality in the application of discipline in the NHL is that the "star-power" of the victim is considered. I have a hard time believing that there would be no hearing if the victim in this case were a league superstar.
  17. so you really think the criminals are gonna come in for the yearly inspection? What's that gonna do to help?
  18. This gun was legally purchased. Mass shootings, and criminals with stolen guns are different discussions. And NYS currently has gun storage laws. I'm not sure how you "make owners" take more responsibility than that.
  19. I've been a gun owner for 40 years, but have never belonged to the NRA. Some of my shooting friends have been critical of that, saying that they are the only organization who will stand up for my gun rights, and to some extent I deserve their criticism. I just fail to see the constructive need for some of the arms that are defended by some gun activists. AR style weapons with detachable mags are not necessary in any environment other than a human killing environment. You don't need DM's on the target range, or in the field hunting, or even in home defense(some may argue this). But they are one of the key features that school or theater or mall shooters rely on to in crease their killing power. I do enjoy guns, shooting them, and hunting with them, but will probably never own an AR style weapon. I wouldn't mind automatic rifles in the hands of the public if you would make them all fixed mag, top loading, or legislate to that end. It is interesting, and sad, that with the new administration gun purchases are down. But it wouldn't surprise me if this terrible event boosts sagging AR sales.
  20. My family just lost a nephew to a heroin OD about a month ago. 28 YO leaving 2 kids. It opened my eyes to the depth of the problem, and it was the 1st time I've been directly impacted by it. His addiction was not started by prescription opioids, but many are.
