There is always football today. One goal and here we go.

Pokey, fans demanding more doesn't get more unless their demanding with their pocketbook. I think this team was over evaluated by a lot of fans. The rebuild started from point zero. I do believe there is now something to build around now though.

Frankly I don't know Housley's reasoning but I'm certainly not going to put mine ahead of his on who plays with who.

I trust Housley is more than aware of things than we are. He watches every game and every practice. He's played this game at a very high level. When it comes to lines we can discuss it but in the final say I'll trust the coach on who he puts together and the reasoning behind it.

Is Phil in charge of our PP? Who ever is it's maybe this team's biggest weakness at this point.

Because of all the changes I'm thinking about Thanksgiving point to begin to see what you have. I wasn't one who expected playoffs to begin with this season. Maybe outside chance if everything broke right but not probable.

Refer you back to Swamps post I was responding to. He said he wasn't conceding playoffs yet. I didn't think they were a playoff team to begin with. Oh, another thing. Many posts here have led me to believe many think this is a good team just lacking effort.

I am but I was before the season started. Fans keep talking about Toronto. Well, I think Toronto is just better than us top to bottom. We're not as good as many seem to think. We have more talent than Pokey thinks but we're not a playoff team. Like it or not there is more team building to do. Hopefully JBot is a guy that can do it. I like the concept of building up your system and not trying to buy or trade your way to a team. One thing Pokey says that I'll agree with is just give me a full effort while this building process v takes place.

Okay, on this Toronto thing. Yes Babcock is a great coach and that makes a difference. And they are a better team top to bottom than us. They would be better than us with Housley coaching them.

Am I alone in having a much higher opinion of the talent on this team than Pokey? Yeah, they have not looked good but seven games and less than a month in? They are , in my mind, more talented than what we've seen.

Any problems there may be don't seem to be with the coach. Too easy to always blame coaching. That's why coaches are hired to be fired.

I would place my money on this is a player problem more than a coaching problem. I felt that way last year as well even though I'm not a Bylsma fan. Now we may be seeing why no one was given C.

This is all after four games? Really??

Blaming our previous coach for these performances is like our president always blaming the previous president. Just do your job. This team needs to just play with at least some intensity. I'm talking about our core players. Let's start blaming players not coaches, particularly former coaches.

The one positive I have is that I didn't think they were a playoff team going in. Now my concern is will they show marked improvement. So far I would say a step backwards but it's less than weeks in so still hope we'll see a much improved team in future.

I must admit these past few games were an embarrassment to hockey. I'm disappointed in our "core" players in particular. Having said that it's too early to jump off the bridge. I'm not one who expected playoffs this year and I do think we'll see a better performance in the future. Let's see how their doing by Thanksgiving and we'll have a better idea of what we really have here.

Not sure your Facebook post will be read or cared about by the organization. Not saying they don't care just they don't feel the fans need to tell them at this point. They, in my mind, are athletes but one thing I tried to encourage my children and now grandchildren is in not having athletes or entertainers as role models. First, they in more cases than not make poor ones and second parents are in best position to be role models for their kids. Good luck getting your message across I am as frustrated as you as a fan right now.

Thanks. Your last words is what I'm expressing. Also the much deeper problem. We seem to put hope, faith and trust in our next coach(system). I'm not sure what you mean by my not understanding but I'll let that one slide.

Gotcha. Thankfully my life is meaningful but that has nothing to do with sports. That's for another forum.

Anyone else sick to death of the word system. This is not a system problem and wasn't one last year or the year before or the year before that. Please let's not mention system.
