  1. Zemgus a flash in the pan way back and nothing since. Might get a third for him at this point.
  2. Frankly I'm tired of the Lehner complaints. We can't score let's start looking at that because most of our losses are due to that. And why are we still playing Nolan?
  3. Hate to say it but what if you sign Kane for say 6-7/ml then you have a lot tied up in four players long term. Big gamble because if they don't produce big time you're in bad shape for the next decade. We may already be there.
  4. Pokey, the key is to not get too emotionally tied to sports teams. Disappointment maybe but life has so many other things to put emotion into that are much more in our control. I enjoy sports. Followed Buffalo teams since mid sixties but my life's not effected all that much by what happens with them win or,in our case, lose.
  5. I am concerned that we have so much money tied up in a core of guys that this team's future success over the next decade could rest with them. Right now it's looking very questionable. It is what it is. Hate to say this but right now Jack is not a ten million dollar player. Not sure you get equal value even in trade for any of our guys. Kane right now may be the only real option to bring in anyone significant and you lose what little offense we've had. Their in a tough position. I wouldn't want JBots job.
  6. Culture is getting to be a buzz word around here. We've had owners who couldn't or wouldn't spend to be competitive in our leagues. They also had not stellar people running the organizations. That's not culture in my thinking. It's poor management and not keeping pace to spend what it takes to keep good players. Our GM'S have been questionable over the years. No it's not the water they drink here or a sports curse or a "losing culture" It's organization and player selection and financial decisions.
  7. If this is true how does the culture stay for so long with different players ,coaches etc.? Seems it's talent evaluation to me. And this partying bs don't care and something to talk about on sports talk shows.
  8. My take. Tyrod is not going to give you anymore than we've seen. We are now in situation that Tyrod will not be the guy in future. They need to see what the new guy can do in live action as a starter because if he's nit the guy they need to know before the next draft. Team,in my opinion, was not going to the playoffs with either guy so let's see what Peterman can do. You can't find out without playing him for several games.
  9. We just put our two best players in the box. Ray loves the idea obviously.
  10. Exactly. Unfortunately because I'm not thinking we sign him.
  11. I've said and felt this way right along. They've been gifted games. They are worst than their record. It's not the coach or the current GM'S fault at this point. Maybe in two to three years we will say that but not now. Whaley and company built this. Polian last decent gm.
  12. Give it awhile. Bills are right now set for down turn. Fast start not true assessment of the team.
  13. I agree but Bylsma did go and certainly up to this point I see no improvement and Jack looks very average now. At least last year I enjoyed watching him after coming back from injury. Right now there is nothing looking good. I agree with Scotysabres it is time to trade Kane and Reinhart. Problem is Reinhart May not fetch all that much now. I hope they can turn this around but I'm doubting.
  14. So, do we still think it was coaching that was the problem? I wasn't a big Bylsma fan but maybe we see it wasn't him it's the team.
  15. I thought they had talent but must admit I may have overestimated this team.
  16. Wish I had more confidence in the Bills. I'm a confirmed non believer. Yeah, pretty decent start but I see it not true reflection of the team unfortunately. Of course I had confidence the Sabres would be better so what do I know?
  17. This is something that bothers me. We've focused a lot on having a weak defense but I have been just as concerned about our offense. Our top guys, or at least the guys I thought were our top guys, just aren't getting much done offensively. Even Jack looks quite average compared to my expectations.
  18. Thanks for your gracious comment. Guess what I meant is to be used to obtain one. Yes, I agree something else would need to be added. Go back and get drunk your back on my ignore.
  19. I agree for the most part with the logic you state here. Which leads me to the possibility that they haven't decided firmly whether to try and sign him or not. Further they (team) would like to win games and field a team with the best chance of doing that and Kane adds to those chances. Trading him now for picks/prospects would signal they have quit on the season and maybe in for a longer rebuild. Trading him for a proven number one defenseman on the other hand would appear to be a hockey trade to improve the current team. I like the latter better.
