At the end of the day we're fans. This format is for us to "vent" and I am frustrated as are the rest of us. I have been following this team since it's inception. Guess I just need to keep perspective and if this was the wrong forum to express it I apologize.

Agree. Not criticizing and hope it wasn't taken that way. Just once in a while I need to step back look at things in perspective.

Just how important in your life are the Sabres? I mean really. They lose it's disappointing but really I'm over it in few minutes/hours and that's it. There are so many things in my life more important. I'm more upset with the latest mass shooting frankly and those families really more important. I'm not in anyway implying their not to you but sports are sports.

I wish Housley would have said nothing but he's expected to so this is what you get. Truthfully, I didn't watch the game so can't say if the score was not indicative of the play or not.

I said I'd give it to Thanksgiving to see what we've got. Must admit I'm about to say we're no where near what I expected a month in. Didn't expect playoff team but expected much more out of what would be considered our better players. Defensively we knew we needed help and goaltending was a question but this so far is discouraging up and down the lineup. Most on here were excited about the Housley hire and I liked it myself but he's a first time head coach and maybe there is going to be a longer learning curve than many would expect but at the end of the day it's about the players.

I'm a Navy vet (Vietnam era). Couple things I feel about this. First, I feel since 911 we have over done the recognition thing to the extent that we're all heroes now (I'm not one) and when teams are getting paid to do this as a promotion it's not tasteful in my opinion. There is ,in my opinion, a lot of superficial or tacky patriotism being displayed. Let's recognize our true heroes and for the rest of us we don't need any. JMO.

Okay, my number one frustration...fans and or sports talk shows. Is it me or does it seem like no matter what is done people complain. Talk shows get ratings by stirring the pot but some fans on these forums seem to enjoy not being happy. The Bills make a trade and all of the sudden a third round draft choice is such a valuable commodity? Some of these same people are the ones probably complaining "just do something!". Don't get me started about our local sports show hosts. Particularly Bull on at three. I used to think he was salvageable. Oh well just thought I'd join in on the griping.

I don't disagree with some of what you say only because of timing. We weren't that far along that a few veteran acquisitions would immediately jump us into being a playoff contender. Disagree on your comment on ROR who is still young and added to that I'm not sold yet that Reinhart is going to ever be the player we want or projected him to be at center or wing. Certainly would not not make the deal for ROR with your argument being the reasoning.

But really what do we expect coaches to say? Frankly I don't pay much attention to coaches or players interviews for that reason.

As much as I love Eichel and possibly McDavid I think tanking is a bad business plan. That's the route they took and we need to continue with what became a total rebuild.

I think the coach and staff may be the best we've had in a while. They are playing hard and more fundamentally sound it seems. Still not sure we are ready to compete with the top teams though. I like what I've seen so far. Also like dumping Dareus who represents what I don't want to see on our team. Highly talented low in character.

Good post. This is my feeling as well. I want to stay out of free agency though and continue to build through the draft and trades if they make sense. I like the trade for Scandella and Pommers.

Man if we had a few guys playing near his level we'd have a few more points. What world are you living in? Have you watched these games? You're criticizing him?
