The bunkerites will probably disagree but Bogosian has played pretty well the past 3 games. I thought he played well for Nolan, got lost with Bylsma and looks pretty good again. 11 GA in the past 3 games and he's at +/- 0 in them with avg of 19 minutes TOI They are going to miss Kane when they trade him Samson with 9 minutes of TOI, not a good look, message sent, lets see what he does with it Risto with almost 31 minutes of TOI in Colorado's thin air, WOW, that's pretty impressive all by itself, looked bad in Mackinnon's 2nd goal though Wilson and Rodriques adds much needed speed to the lineup

To me the main problem with the tank wasn't the tank itself but the dearth of talent the club has drafted since 2010. Jake McCabe is the only 2nd rounder or lower that has played 50 games for the Sabres and he's more of a JAG than a difference maker. Jack E. for all his faults is the only guy we could legitimately say we hit it big with. 2010 Pysyk is a JAG and no-one else in that class and he's no longer here 2011 Armia is a JAG and no-one else in that class and he's no longer here 2012 Girgensons and McCabe..... JAGs but at least they're in the NHL 2013 Risto........ Bailey and Baptiste........ Risto hopefully becomes someone but the jury is still out on the BA boys 2014 Reinhart and no-one else 2015 Jack and we hope Guhle turns into someone 2016 Nylander, Asplund, Pu and Fitzgerald but no-one at this point is a sure thing 2017 Mittelstadt looks like a sure thing but who knows on the rest Just a terrible waste of very good to decent draft slots the past few years. If you remember, Kane came back before Jack, so he couldn't have played with him Then he played with Jack and Samson for a short stretch Then he played a majority of the next 2 months on the 3rd line with Gionta He then switched lines for a majority of March and April. Check his scoring stats, you'll see Gionta either with an assist or goal on as many points as anyone else if not more.

Kane played the majority of 2016-2017 with Larry and Gionta Eichel was only on the ice for 11 of Kane's 43 points last year and of those 11 they weren't all goals by Kane Of Kane's 28 goals last year, 25 of them was at equal strength This year Kane has 7 5v5 goals 1PP goal and 3 SH goals Kane's career CorsiF is 50.6% Eichel's career CorsiF is 47.7% Chew on those numbers, Jack's giveaways so far this year will almost double his next highest years total ROR's career CorsiF is 49.5% Kane produces no matter what line he's on.

I'd actually hope he comes to play 4th line Center, put Girgensons on the 3rd line with Larry and Pommy. IMO that would help that line be a little harder to play against. The first 2 lines seem set especially with Pouliot finding some chemistry with ROR and Kyle O. and Samson finding the same with Jack and Kane.

We were tied after the first. As for Kane, he leads the team in goals, he leads the team in points, he leads the team in Power Play assists (yes look it up and he's not on the PP1 team) and he leads the league in Short Handed Goals. But alas, he's not perfect so his line and he in particular suck. And I wonder why I grind my teeth, can we at least be somewhat fair and blast guys who aren't producing at all as opposed to it always being him in particular. Gotcha!!!

I'm a little confused by your comment, did you think they played well the first few games of the season?? It appears to me they are very susceptible to a counter-attack and they are confused as to who should be defending who in front of the net. One defender appears to have a man and the 2nd defender is oblivious to what's going on around him. As for the counter attacks, I can't remember so many 2 on 1s, 3 on 2s and clean breakaways against us as this season has progressed.

I only caught the first 2 periods so these are my observations: That might have been Reinhart's best game as a Sabre Center, in fact I like he and Girgensons together. Pouliot's best game as a Sabre ROR appears to be coming around. Eichel was fine but I expected more out of him in this type of fast paced game. Keller is for real. Wow, how would you like him instead of Nylander at the moment. The kids pace is just phenomenal Our D is atrocious. Just absolutely terrible. Have we over rated Risto because he was the best of the worst?? Just always seems to be a step behind mentally. We were winning because of Lehner, I haven't said that all year. I haven't seen the last 3 goals by the Yotes, but if they were anything like the SOGs from the first 2 periods our D was non-existent. I think that was Kane's 3rd short handed goal this season. In fact I just looked it up and he leads the league in that category. Nice

Another awesome note on this series was a Sports Illustrated predicted the Astros would win in 2014 the last year they played less than .500 baseball, I think they lost 91 games that year. Became a fan of the Astro's the first full year I was in Houston in 78' when I went to the game in what was the original Astrodome. I thought it was the greatest baseball stadium I ever was in. It had this giant scoreboard that had a rodeo rider on a bull, 10 years later I worked with the guy who built the scoreboard, pretty cool, I know his son also. Another cool note is Brian Duff is a big time Astro fan too.
