  1. Although I don't think Ullmark was worth the money or term, IMO the #1 thing that kept KA from matching that contract was the NMC. Your posts on this reminds me of an old song: In the year 2525 If KA is still alive If GASabres can survive he may find Ullmark's reign is thru But thru eternal light the sprinkling of starlight We can move on to something else to biotch about
  2. Power will overpower the opposition and win the Calder Trophy Anderson's old creaky body won't hold up and he won't play 20 games this year I'll have more than 2 guys on my ignore list by mid January because we'll have too many rookies in the lineup and we'll be out of a playoff spot again for a new record of a dozen years. My hopium bottle is almost empty so so I'm going to tell GMKA to HurryTFU with this rebuild @nfreeman will break his personal record of "This post is Obnoxious" if #3 comes true. Olofsson won't earn his $5M+ contract and hopefully Mitts finally breaks out because he's on the last year of our patience with him.
  3. Top 10 list in the bracket challenge competition. 🏆 To me but here's to all that participated 🥂🍻🥃
  4. This from the Hockey News, as stated by our insider @tom webster the price of obtaining Kane wouldn't be significant so I have no idea why someone would say it would take significant assets to get him, he would be owed 6.9M for next year but has a 4M bonus coming on July 1st so the cap hit is 10M but the actual salary would be 2.9M. So in reality Chicago wouldn't have to keep salary in trade. As for the significant assets, I don't think anyone has advocated for that. He would have to waive his NMC to come here which means to me if he came here, he wanted to be here. The PR of obtaining the greatest American born player who happens to be from WNY would outweigh just about anything else. If the Sabres would make this move it's already been established that Granato and Adams know him so their opinion of him is already set IMO. If we can get him for cheap, I don't see the downside. If he doesn't want to leave Chicago for whatever reason, good for him and God bless.
  5. Just in case you missed the previous posts
  6. I feel like you're arguing semantics, I'm having a hard time not believing having Tuch, Kane, Thompson, Dahlin and Power as the faces of the franchise to start the year doesn't put way more fannies in the stands this coming year than last year.
  7. I agree it doesn't get us a GK but it will stir up fan enthusiasm again, which leads to ticket sales, which hopefully leads to a better record than we've had in a long time, which also hopefully leads to us getting a better GK than what appears possible at the moment. If Thomas is correct and the cost to get him isn't really high, I don't see the downside to this. Plus having Tuch and Kane as endorses of the product can't hurt either.
  8. As long as the cost isn't prohibitive, the reasons the Sabres make this deal: Kane is still productive and would immediately become our best RW if not best winger period If he agreed to come here it's because he WANTS to be here, a KA prerogative Not only does Granato know him but Adams if I'm not mistaken played with him for a year also He's only owed 6.9M this year plus the added bonus of fan enthusiasm and season ticket sales would skyrocket compared to last year, don't discount this because it would probably be the #1 reason we make this deal If things don't work out they could probably recoup whatever it is they give up at the trade deadline. If this is true, you make the deal. 16, Portillo and Johnson (who probably won't sign here anyway) you make this work.
  9. To all you Father's, Grandfather's and especially to the good one's, you're a blessing!!!!
  10. He played with Toronto last year so he was on the 20’ team that won it. He signed as a free agent this year.
  11. Well besides wanting to win the bracket challenge and pulling for the Avs, it won't hurt my feelings to have the Lightning win 3 in a row which is pretty remarkable in the modern cap era. An extraordinary job by their management team to pull this off if they do, plus ex-bunker boy Bogosian could win his 2nd with the team.
  12. Great information here but I can't help but think of the quote of don't believe anything you hear from scouts, coaches and GMs prior to the draft. From everything I've read the tiers are 1-5, 6 thru 19 and 20 thru 40. So besides my preference for no D with picks 9 and 16, just about anything will work especially for 9 where at least 1 of Gauthier, Savoie, Nazar, Kasper will be available. It doesn't appear to be any superstars in this draft so anyone who can fill a middle 6 role will work. In an admittedly short history, KA appears to like skill and speed, so whomever can fill those roles are most likely to get picked. Some top Russians may also be available at 16 which I'd take a swing at if they had top 10 potential. Actually where the Russian kids will fall is probably turning into the story of this draft for me besides our 3 picks.
  13. Dang that is way to hot, l've been increasing my run/walks for the past 2 months and l hit 4 miles today. Pretty pumped about that and my average time is the same as when l was at 2.5 miles. I do mine at sunrise when it's only in the low 80's. Be careful of heat stroke at those temps.
  14. All I can say besides go Avs is good thing @Brawndo @pi2000 @Eleven @ubkev @JujuFish @sweetlou @Norcal @thewookie1 @Taro T are all very good posters on this site because they aren't worth a 💩 as pickers or with the exception of being good at this kind of picker
  15. Some people also seem to forget it wasn't just the money and term it was the No Move Clause in the contract that the Sabres didn't want to match. Let's not also forget he couldn't stay healthy while here. With McAvoy's new contract kicking in next year, the Bruins aren't going to find a replacement for Bergeron without shedding salary. IMO they're about to be sorry they made that deal with Ullmark especially if Swayman continues to play well and improve. I think Adams deserves a little rope after navigating thru last year with the team having a new attitude and improved play, so let's see what his game plan is moving forward. I also think the team's positivity will break some of the bad vibes that seems to have haunted us with players not wanting to come here. Even some of our biggest detractors on the national stage are coming around with positive takes on the team.
  16. Plus they could have spoken to him while they were visiting Levi and already know the kid.
  17. Let's not also forget moving from 6th to the 2nd pick in the draft in 2019 and moving from 16th to winning the lottery and getting the #1 pick in the 2020 draft. They've been very fortunate in many ways to get their rebuild going. And as you said they went from Lundqvist to Shesterkin in net.
  18. My babysitting my 3 year old granddaughter job is done so I'm coming back to this. With the projected lineup as of today according to you 2, we'll have 4 rookies (Quinn-Peterka-UPL-Power) plus 3 other players (Krebs-Samuelsson-Fitzgerald) with less than a full season in the NHL. After the end of the season rush, do you really think with 1/3 of your lineup virtually being rookies that we'll have a real chance to move up in the standings or are we in for another season where the playoffs are just a dream scenario again?? It's not that I don't think they'll all play this year at one point or another but unless Thompson-Skinner wasn't a 1 year wonder and Mitts doesn't come back to being the player we all hope he'll become, it may be entertaining to watch the young guys develop but a winning season seems farfetched to me. I still have my rose colored glasses on and I think we're on the right path for a change but I don't think I can handle another 70 something point season which is most likely to happen with that lineup in place.
  19. I don't disagree with you but with both of these guys being played primarily as RWs, who do you sit?? VO, Tuch, Okposo are your RWs at the moment, if you play both kids which of them sits?? You have Skinner, Krebs and Girgensons on the left side and possibly Asplund. I don't see see Okposo or Girgensons lasting much after their contracts run out but are you going to rid yourself of their veteran leadership after the job they did last year? It's a good problem to have after years of underperforming forwards but with the 2 kids both not having to pass thru waivers, my guess is one of them is going to start the year in Rochester until injuries hit or some type of trades we don't foresee at the moment happens.
  20. You just won't stop stirring up those jerky's will you 😀😀
  21. Just in case you think maybe the Texas Republican Party will take a different look at gun control https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/texas-news/abbott-cruz-to-attend-nra-convention-days-after-texas-school-shooting/2976742/
  22. From the information I've read on the kid, if they can improve his skating (which is doable, he just turned 19) he could be legit prospect. Has a heavy shot and is a high IQ player. We're due for an overachiever to make it. Big kid also so he has 4th line potential as well.
  23. What?? You do realize Dahlin's 1st pairing partner (Samuelsson) was picked in the 2nd round right?? Jokiharju for whatever faults people have of him is improving and is only 22 and played well off of Power to end the season. Then again maybe you're using sarcasm on me and I haven't had my coffee yet this morning and I missed it. There should be several RHDs available with that late 1st round pick that should fill the bill. Plus they'll have a boatload of cash available to pick up a vet this offseason.
  24. What?? Pizzas light up now?? I’m still trying to figure out why anyone would put fruit on a pizza.
  25. Why would you want to waste 2 top 1/2 1st round picks on a guy who’ll end up as a 3rd pairing defenseman?? You have a late pick in the 1st round and pick #41 for that. You have 3 22 year olds and a 19 year old in your top 4. Take the best 2 forwards available and move on. Nobody’s likely to play for at least 2 years anyway.
