My Dad has a Honda Odyssey. He is 74 years old. It's his going golfing, happy hour, to the Legion multi friend hauling man van. Any comment on the van gets the starring look of GMTM in negations and ZFG if you don't like.

Thank you for that. Not sure as there is no fear to the survivors of those that went underground still. The hope that a Jew, a Muslim, and a Christian can sit around sipping coffee and telling jokes about the Irish in Russia seems like a pleasant way to end my day.

No, I just hope we are morally superior to Stalin. I understand that a person that is faithful to a religion is not instantly a moral person, and that the opposite is also true. A person of no religious faith does not imply an immoral person. But trying to eliminate religion did not make Russia and it's satellite blocks less adverse to war or crimes against humanity because religion was not to be a factor.

I will try to expand on SMJ's Russian comment in a direction that maybe he was headed for. If it weren't for the removal of religion and several other historical and cultural believes and traditions by Stalin and his predecessors to form the perfect state, that Russia today could be a more open and diverse country. But the butchering of 10's of millions of people, some authors I have read where reporting in the 60 million range, for religious or political believes has lead to a country that is still in fear of being open and friendly to religion in fear of death or torture. If my memory serves me correct Christians, Jews, and Muslims were a dominate political force pre-communist Russia. They where systematically eliminated in much the same form as the German SS death camps operated. The Russian people are trapped by the fear of returning to the church that some day they may be off to Siberia for doing it. Maybe the point being, the absence of religion and reliance solely on the state to achieve moral good of society has shown to have been a complete failure in Russia.

I'm sorry, but I like the b*tch fights in the parking lot. Not that I want to see a fight, but there are on going back stories that are years old that come to light for new members to finally read and find out what the other wise meaningless barbs to each other mean. To me this is ....nice, in a weird way. Gives it a more dysfunctional family feel. Which to me is normal.

Is the actually owner of LGR Trucking out of Rochester NY. In an amazing twist he looks just like Harry "Donut" Fishbine, owner of F&B Ambulance Co. from the movie Mother, Jugs and Speed. Loves Hooked on Phonics Having a flat azz went to get some Botox implants but only wound up braking needles due to the tin implants. You spelled chupacabra wrong.

Thank you for that. Never thought of it that way. Well, I think you just dropped a turd in my Thursday punch bowl. Please post in the Friday thread a post of equal positive value so I can begin the weekend on a happy note.....no pressure.

I'm hoping your not referring to any one in this thread, this thread has been one of the more civilized as of late in my opinion and why I dared to add a post. You are one of the more composed posters and I'm willing to bet you where like I was and have been pleasantly surprised at the more teaching like atmosphere rather than a lot of preaching (NS personally you have set the bar for this) And you are quite correct, there are places I dare not go let alone post, that I will be preached to.

We have been very fortunate for many years to have two Priests (at different times) that took the time to explain the historical, and political climate at the time for much of the scripture readings. The Bible taken in todays context is very different than the intended meaning if going by the literal translation. Having a Priest that wishes to teach more than preach has been very important to us. Getting preached to weekly gets old quick, learning never gets old.

Evander Kane - How good do you expect him to be?
woods-racer replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Nice summer topic LGR, thanks for the thread. To much and to soon for this team to ask him to be 20 plus goal scorer this season. Late in the season with some chemistry and he will come on to push the 20 goal envelope. -
Be honest: Dumbest hockey thing you ever posted
woods-racer replied to BetweenThePipes00's topic in The Aud Club
I am the same, and I believe there are a lot more like us. That is why there are a lot of lurkers. I'm willing to bet that a large percentage of lurkers have written a great post and just are unsure of the out come for hitting "post" and just move on. Lindy stifles offensive talent. The Sabres just sucked, I blamed Lindy, please forgive. -

Making SabreSpace more friendly to new posters
woods-racer replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
Sorry, I thought it best to tell him of how he got stuck in underlining, not to belittle him for doing it. Especially when he said he didn't know how he did it. This because I've done it myself and spent some time trying to figure out what I've done. In truth I was hoping EMAN would give feedback, as in he thought I was being help full or an azz. Personally I don't know what 90% of the symbols in the tool bar do. Just one newbee just trying to be sympathetic and helpful. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished. -

I read your opening posts and what happened after that I thought there where a few that where a bit rough on you. You personally may not have needed some defending, but it was a good thing to see for the forum as a community. Maybe for you it was more a case of not understanding forum tools, such as the underlining in this post (there is a U in the left corner of the tool bar and you seem to have accidentally found it, or you're really messing with us). But a bit more constructive criticism was due in my opinion to help you use the forum tools, or you may think I'm just an azz for pointing out your mistake. Either way you seem to be able to handle it.
