Boldly has been good in this tournament but my favourite from that group is Newhook. He is fast, shifty and drives to the net.

I know +/- is not a fancystat but it’s nice to see Quinn with that number. That’s something the coaches love and will trust him with important ice time.

Here’s another example of how tough an 18 year old draft is, Alex Turcotte was drafted ahead of Cozens and Zegras. He has not been a factor last year or this year so far. Things may change again in 3-4 years. I still like the Cozens pick. I was really hoping for Rossi this year but Quinn is growing on me. I see a lot of Mark Stone in him and if he approaches that level it is a great pick.

I am being political here but I see them as equals. Really different players. I see Cozens as Jeff Carter in his prime and Zegras reminds me of Sebastian Aho.

Cozens on PP1 and PK1. Quinn on PP2 and PK2. Plenty of special teams ice time on a talented squad.

Cozens with the strong net front presence on the PP. Buries a rebound.

Ray Ferraro and TSN are calling Cozens the Workhorse from Whitehorse.

Cozens with a great display of his speed at the end of the period. His top end speed must be in the top of the NHL caliber.

Solid board work. Not flashy but effective,

Czechs leading the Russians 1-0 after two periods. Russians outplaying them but the Czechs are tight defensively.

Cozens has a good stint on the PK and then makes a beauty stretch pass for a huge goal. Slovaks have played well, with a few 16 year olds in their lineup.

It would be extremely difficult to have an MVP quality tournament without a supporting cast. He is a good player but they never have the puck.

Great shift by Quinn, smart plays.

I see some Mark Stone in him as well.

Cozens and Newhook could be a good pair of forwards to stay together.

JJ Peterka with an assist in Germany’s 5-3 loss to Finland. I didn’t watch much of it so no report on his play. The little I watched, Finns had the puck 90% of the time.

I hope you’re right. Depth will be important and he may get his chance. How he competes in his games vs how Arttu and Asplund play will determine his fate. How he spent his off season and his mental approach will be key to him taking a step forward.

Started watching it, I’m hooked.

They got “lucky” that Kucherov is on LTIR for the season. They miss out on having him for the regular season but I think he is back for the playoffs, where their cap is not an issue. They have a great chance to repeat but will be in cap he’ll unless Seattle takes Johnson + off of their hands next year.
