I am and have always been skeptical of players eclipsing career bests during a UFA season. I do not want to sign someone long term who suddenly improves by 30-50% as a UFA. Besides, he turns 29 in November.

Someone with no attachment to the players and prospects would make hockey decisions, not based on who wants to be here. Winning attracts winners.
