  1. A lot of teams in the Atlantic division are pooping the bed, so there’s that.
  2. Pretty consistent 1000s.
  3. Rosen called up, he’s done searching.
  4. Former junior linemate of those two, Lekkeremaki has played a few games for the Canucks this year.
  5. At the very least he could be the third party taking on salary for real GMs to make a deal. Yeah right, he’s had the cap space for years and hasn’t gone there. I guess TP doesn’t value draft picks for paying out $$. If this team is in the mix at the deadline he could be a big game hunter with that cap space. Just do something to show everyone you actually care.
  6. Thanks for the math lesson, different perspective. Another math angle is the square footage of the zone and how much more room there is to maneuver, pass and shoot for 4vs3 as opposed to 6vs5. Plus, you can go blind and never see your car again.
  7. IMO, Pesce was an ideal candidate for this role when he was available last year.
  8. My posting is way down but I still read a few topics. The negativity I feel is bad enough without a huge pile of people adding their weight. Winning cures a lot of ailments, I am still waiting for a return to the playoffs and building upon that.
  9. Quinn’s form this season puzzles me. Up to this point he has been at least equal to JJP in production and on the same development curve. JJP now plays like a man and with confidence. Quinn looks like this is his first call up and will benefit from the experience when sent back down to get faster and stronger. I know he won’t be sent down but he could be scratched. Lindy is being very patient with him and is still deploying him in important situations. I am still a fan but he needs to take it up a notch and build on that. Cozens rising from the dead will help.
  10. He will never be a guy who is feared when the other team has the puck. His willingness to engage is frustrating to watch. He can still kill plays and lead the transition when he is dialed in. He hasn’t found his rhythm yet, unfortunately. The other aspects of his game haven’t been shining through. He’s been indecisive and doing a lot of watching. I suspect part of that is not having a solid partner who is defensively sound and has his back.
  11. RIP Claude. Too young.
  12. I still don’t expect any goals for when he is out there. My eye test does show him as more effective than two years ago.
  13. I think a good indicator of this is being on 6 NHL teams by the age of 29. GMs are drawn by the size and strength and think their coach will make him better. I won’t call him dumb but his hockey IQ is not high. Being paiired with Risto vs another teams top line would be hard to watch.
  14. When Zacha and Coyle are your top 2 C’s you should struggle to score. I thought this was going to happen last year but they managed to stay relevant one more year. Maybe the Ullmark/Swayman mojo was a good thing and Debrusk contributed some. Their issues do not make me sad.
  15. Edmonton is clueing in. Zucker has been better, in more ways.
  16. Putting out a 3rd line that tilts the ice in your favour and a 4th line that is more than just cross your fingers adequate helps everyone. As you say, they should have more gas in the tank later in games and later in the season.
  17. Gilbert being benched added some minutes.
  18. They look like they want to go Alamo.. One goal lead with tons of time. Move your feet and the puck, get another goal and ease the stress.
  19. He’s definitely not playing like a power forward. Lack of effort and wimpy reaching for pucks.
  20. I can’t see, we have the Flames feed.
  21. With a goal to assist ratio similar to Auston Matthews. That hit shows a winningness to compete vs men.
  22. I will be interested to see their performance when they slot back in. I am still not a fan of Bryson other than as a short term fill in. This scratching period should light a fire under Mule. He is a laid back guy but he must play with a higher sense of urgency and bring more edge.
  23. I think the CHL will draw more young (16-19) talent than ever. Some good Canadian kids were going to the USHL or playing tier 2 Junior A to remain eligible. American prospects might want added exposure and competition by playing in the CHL.Tier 2 Junior A in Canada will not attract any real prospects, guys like Makar won’t have to play in the AJHL. I wonder if there was a possibility of having some USHL teams join the WHL. They already have a bunch of franchises in the Pacific Northwest.
  24. More playoff experience and success than those guys combined. KO lucked into some serious success this spring but he wasn’t a factor. Hall will be remembered as the tank fruit who commanded the most tanks.
