  1. Skinner Thompson Tuch Peterka Cozens Quinn Mittelstadt Krebs Savoie Greenway Haula Comtois Jost Rousek Samuelsson Dahlin Power. Graves Jokiharju. Lyubushkin Stillman Levi Comrie
  2. I was about to go to bed and the Oilers get back to within 1. I guess a retiree can sleep in once in a while.
  3. Savoie with 2 assists as the Ice sweep the Saskatoon Blades in the WHL. He leads the WHL playoffs in scoring with 27 points in 14 games. The Ice will face the winner of Seattle and Kamloops in the WHL final.
  4. He does not look like a confident goalie tonight. He’s not tracking the puck very well.
  5. I don’t like many teams that are left. I can tolerate the Oilers the most in the west. In the east I guess I will pull for Sabres south (Panthers) because they are currently playing the Leafs. I cannot stand by without passionately rooting vs the Leafs. Did I mention I hate the Leafs? If the Panthers were to meet the Devils in the next round I could switch to Lindy’s team.
  6. Komarov gets an empty netter as Quebec sweeps Gatineau to get to the Q finals. Nadeau is out. Quebec has swept all 3 series to date.
  7. Pretty specific target area right there.
  8. OMG, his sister is on the HNIC panel. She would pour the gas for the millions of Leafblowers.
  9. Cozens is the poster boy for this description.
  10. Looking forward to this as it is usually accurate. There will be some guys moving up and down of course. Anyone not on this list is a potential Sabres pick.
  11. No, jam is the willingness to use any grit of sandpaper.
  12. Might be tough to find hockey specific training in England during the summer.
  13. I think that there was a bit of discussion about injuries and the relationship with hitting on this board. The hitter and target are both affected by the hit, it’s why you see guys so beat up after the playoffs. That style of game is not sustainable for 82 games. You need to be able to battle for pucks at a higher level in the playoffs and the Sabres will need to embrace that in order to go deep. Adding depth helps too.
  14. And Trouba like hits have the chance of suspension attached to them, resulting in games lost.
  15. Compete, as DG says.
  16. You need to pick your spots. If it’s one on one and your partner has your back go for the hit. I think the players know that both of them feel the impact, there are consequences to every hit and they need to be healthy for 82 + playoffs. Teams ratchet it up in the last few weeks if they are in a playoff battle.
  17. Well, I went out of my way to respond to this. Seriously though, I agree with your comment. People seem to have limited time and attention spans so when it is brought up they made a “significant” effort to do so.
  18. Right on. I equate grit to battling for the puck and hounding If the Sabres take it up a few notches they have the size to win many battles. They just have to realize the sacrifice involved in those battles and blocking shots. The playoffs are a war of attrition and depth is important too. A team cannot play like that in the regular season, they would have nothing left.
  19. Kamloops vs Winnipeg would guarantee the Ice a spot in the Memorial Cup. I’m curious to watch Seattle though, Lambert, Milic.
  20. I think Cozens enjoyed it last year and would go back but he wants to get healthy and focus on the upcoming season. He said a lot of his training will be in London Ontario again.
  21. My Swedish is a little rusty but I translated some of it. It sounds like he flew in yesterday. That would indicate he wants to look around Rochester and get a feeling for the place and the league. KA must be happy about a first rounder thinking of coming over sooner than later.
  22. Is that contractually possible? He has signed his ELC with Buffalo.
  23. Probably helps keep NHL eyes off their guys, or the military.
  24. The Linus bridge has been burned I would think. Both sides would probably balk at that move. If he was to return, Levi would carry the mail in the playoffs anyway. Sandpaper is needed. I think it will arrive in a UFA signing or two. Graves? Wood? Killorn? Maybe a trade can bring some in. Calgary could alter their roster and move on from a D and a guy like Coleman. Cap dumps will happen between the draft and July 1st. Grit should be available. If the Sabres move on from Girgs and KO then grittier options need to be brought in.
