Winnipeg would want a lot but how much do you give up for one year of Hellebuyck? Sign and trade is a different matter. I think UPL would go, Krebs played junior in Winnipeg so they might want him. A draft pick would be something else to add.

Dubas has brought in tons of former Soo guys to the Leafs like Murray, Bunting, Muzzin, Campbell, Simmonds, McCann, Timmins, Sandin.

Haven’t you heard, Dubas is a genius. He has alternate IDs for all of his players. Matthews could show up as Pablo Scorez. Then again, the Marlies may not want the stench of playoff losers in their room.

I love Mule, he is one of my favourite players and his value was obviously missed when he was out. As a 18-19 year old in the KHL I would think Novikov is limited to 3rd pairing and maybe some PK. The top scoring Dman on his team only had 32 points in 65 games. I doubt Mule gets more than 20 points per season. Half of those will be secondary assists from giving it to Dahlin.

I think it is an NHL seniority thing. I would think there is a short leash if he falters, having two NHL calibre goalies waiting in the wings. Montembeault is not Carey Price.
