Eh I'm done rooting against them, draft Eichel and lets start progressing, not staying stagnant.

Good enough for me!

Looked, saw, bought! That is awesome!

is it possible to do this in a trade for McDavid
Rasmus_ replied to sabresareback's topic in The Aud Club
I couldn't agree with you more, the draft lottery ended, and we're getting Eichel. That's it. Ristolainen and Girgensons are to valuable to trade to move up one for the better prospect. In due time we'll be okay with it as a fan base. It just sucks for the moment. Let's get back to winning and building. It'd be like trading Sam Reinhart for a retread or a pick in this draft class that I've seen on other sites. -

Murray will likely due his due diligence to call MacTavish and company, but I don't see much happening there. Weirder things have happened, but Eichel is coming to Buffalo. -
Now we can just focus on the other elements of the draft. Zboril, Greenway, White, etc.

dreaming of a #1 LW who can also knockout Matt Cooke?
Rasmus_ replied to Onceagain's topic in The Aud Club
Matt Cooke has been too injured in the last year plus to qualify as the guys to knock out. I want him to knock out the Lucic's, the Marchand's etc. Which he did there :D. -
Until they fire their entire upper management, they'll be stuck in the snow drifts. MacTavish is more likely to sink his head into the sand in the Sahara before he is to build a quality NHL product. The man is methodically idiotic. I love individual players like Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Darnell Nurse, and RNH, but you cannot build a team with names. It is not fantasy hockey. I see what you did there. :flirt:

Time to embrace Jack Eichel. I really loathe the Oilers from hear on out. It's not their fault for winning the lottery, but really they develop their players terribly. I preferred McDavid in every sense, but it is what it is. Your sentiments on the drafting process in team sports makes some sense in an "anarchist" sort of way. However, how is not helping the lower teams improve off of a bad situation not the way to get McDavid who is the best player in the draft. That is how drafting has worked from day 1. Your a team of the Buffalo Sabres not the LA Kings or Anaheim Ducks. I'm confused at this thinking. So rather than get a McDavid type player, you'd rather have Buffalo further suffer and reward a team who but 5-6 years ago was in the lottery?

Enjoy being ruined McDavid. you MacTavish and company. Trolls.

Who needs luck, Connor is on his way to Buffalo as we speak :P. He's driving his beat up pinto to Buffalo from Erie. It might take him a few months to push the thing.

Michal Neuvirth, unless there is a trade for someone like Robin Lehner.

The trailer for this movie, was atrocious. Moving on!

Sean Avery. Such a class act!

It doesn't matter what happens in a simulator, the Sabres are winning. #Idontcareanymore #Endtheinsanity

That's exactly the type of player he is. He's not flashy, he's not going to wow you with an insane amount of speed. But, he'll be on the rush, be where he needs to be and do all the things that you do when you're seeing the ice so clear. That's what I see, because he doesn't have an amazing shot, but he finishes on the plays.
-
Valid points all around. He'd be a big step up from what we've had in that end of things. I just feel O'Reilly fits the team much better and that he has the ability to do things that other skilled forwards cannot.
-
Ryan O'Reilly and to me it's not even close. You can play him on either wing or the center ice position. He was great in the face-off circle, finishes in his own zone and carries the puck well. He scores enough to be paid what he's going to based on the current NHL product.

A 2006 repeat at worst case. I want the feeling of being on the finish line with the chance to make the Stanley Cup finals. That would be at least a good taste in my mouth again. Competing every night against the Montreal's, Tampa Bay's, NY Rangers and other year in year out teams would be a step in the right direction, though.

Thanks for sharing, he looks like the type of guy the team could use! 36 hours from now!

Rage to Nolan's firing, I find that laughable. The man has been fired for the same reason 2 other times including his previous stop in Buffalo. For such a good person as he is, he doesn't seem to adapt or change his philosophy to work with a GM to stay on a certain plan of attack. I will give him credit for sticking to his morals, but pride is also something that keeps you out of the coaching profession in the NHL. "Lack of communication", again sums up all I need to hear. He seems like a great guy and a straight forward work hard work ethic type, and I appreciate that...but I'm hardly shocked, if anything I saw this coming in December.

God no, please for the love of Christ do not tell me that Claude Julien is your pick. The man is a moron. I would rather hire a coach in the Q, WHL or OHL like Jay McKee. His talent has bailed out his atrocious system and made him look like a genius.
