That was awesome! The look on the Wild players face is priceless!
-
Lol, oh the chuckles! The pace is not even close, obviously. But, the personnel are also unanimously better. It's like jumping from the AHL to the NHL it's a completely different structure, roster, and coaching staff. Your analogy is perfect!

Well written. To me they were playing East/West as well as they were North/South. The creativity was evident. Barkov with the dish right infront of Johnson was spot on!
-
With regards to Ullmark, I feel that the Sabres are best suited to let him play meaningful minutes and get his game back up to par. He's been very impressive so far in the AHL, but we have been teased before. It's the contrary argument that I've been making for Sam Reinhart, but I feel with goalies, they especially off of a drastic surgery should just be given time to consistently get reps. For the time being Lieuwen and Ocho can handle the load.

It is a shame about a player like Franzen experiencing this situation again. He's at an age where he's won a cup and while ending your career via injury is a terrible injustice on your career, you do need to weigh that versus your ability for future health.

Jagr at 43 is still a beast. I was purely in awe! It helps when you play with good young talent in Barkov and Huberdeau. They fell behind and then came back. It's alright.

Hiller is who I want if the price is right.
-
+1, he's still amazing, but he's at the end of his illustrious career. Give him some credit. Yeah the Yikel thing is annoying, but he's still one of the best!

It would take a hefty overpay. I don't see him as a piece they'd want to move just because. Krug, Pastrnak and Bergeron are pretty much non-starters I would think.

That's completely fine, I don't really get into arguments about bottom pair defensemen they are really hodgepodge to be honest. So you're right, it was a bit of a cop out. He shouldn't be above a 7th defensemen on a quality d-core. Colaiacovo is terrible.

You must have beer goggles on. Weber does what he does, I don't love him as a player, but he sticks to what he knows. Franson hasn't looked to sharp and honestly, I think that has to do with offseason conditioning. Not going until the last week of August without a contract can hamper you mentally. Colaiacovo has been terrible for as long as I can remember.

For the love of god, get rid of Colaiacovo! - Edit - I do agree with you.

Reinhart: Fewer minutes in NHL or more minutes in AHL?
Rasmus_ replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
Is he really playing any worse than Moulson. I mean if we're splitting hairs and while Moulson is a season veteran and quality human being, he's beyond slow in the teams structure and pace. How many times has he fallen. I'm a huge Reinhart fan. He really has no reason to go down to Rochester. He's better suited to play than McGinn. -
I will be watching the entire game. Let's see if Girgensons can spark O'Reilly. This should be a scrappy affair. Get it in on Bobrovsky early with pressure and he's been prone to bad starts. While I have questions with Moulson, and the defense, this roster is better than what they showed against a superior team in Tampa Bay.

Lieuwen is a solid call up for a back up. He's very "Chad Johnsonesque" to me. Ullmark definitely needs the time to work his way back. He could easily be competing in the NHL next season as our back up/fighting for 1B role. I've always liked him.
-
Totally agree with you, there is depth on defense and skilled wingers. I would count Bailey, Possler, Baptiste as at best 3rd line type talents.

New year, tons of firepower, still cant score.

Ullmark was very solid last night.

Tampa Bay is one of the elite teams in the eastern conference. The first period's pace was significantly better. They're not rushing the net enough, but the pace is improving. I'm enjoying what I'm seeing overall. One step back, two forward!

Go Evander, Go ROR, Go Eichel!

The noise in the arena when Jack scored was the loudest I've ever heard it. It was so impressive. It sounded like Seattle in a Seahawks game, or someplace else. Simply electric!

Colaiacovo didn't look great IMO. I did see the turnover on Ristolainen, but I saw more good than bad. IMO.

They gave up the first goal and Robin Lehner was out of position. The game started out sloppy and the passing was choppy. It got better as the game went along. This seems to be a pattern from the preseason until now. Though a lot of that will have to do with getting used to each other. The standouts from the game to me were Eichel, Kane and Ristolainen. Though several others did good things.

That was quick. Collapse the zone, and Turris is wide open. Oi Robin. You need Batman!
