Another interesting game. McCabe is in the dog house I guess. Two straight scratches?

Here's hoping Johnson has played his way into a 2nd round pick. That would be very good value for a pending free agent. Schaller continues to impress me to the point where he could ultimately be Legwand's replacement if someone is looking for a bottom six forward.

You can nit pick all you want but there are only a few questionable moves. It really comes down to Lehner vs the #21 pick. The other trades for O'Reilly and Kane, I would say no.

Such a good shot! Go Varone! -
Moulson may have no value, but Phaneuf has even more term. Absolutely not. Also, Ennis and Moulson for Phaneuf is a laugh.
-
Are you on drugs? Jesus! Gah, I hate Phaneuf.
-
Exactly, he's a nice piece to have at the deadline, he'll be cheap enough for a lot of teams to fit in, and even if you cover 30%, you're going to get something valuable. Murray can be frank with him just like he was with Moulson and McCormick. It's not impossible or improbable that he wouldn't come back. We're talking about a guy fitting in the top six that is really a lower six player.
-
No thanks. I don't want to part with Reinhart. And if you think giving up Reinhart with two other useful players for Barrie and Comeau/Skille who was picked up off the dumpster pile, you're nuts. Barrie is a top notch defensemen, but this makes 0 sense. Or you do what you did with Moulson and trade him for value, and bring him back. Keep the lines of communication open and he could easily return. He's been given new life here.

Two words: Shawn Thornton. Aka, trash.

I'm still shocked that in they've scored 5 goals in the first period in the last two games. The second period played up tempo for Minnesota. The Haula goal was annoying.
-
That's true, but if you look at all the ways he was able to get in through the defense with his size, you can just see his game translating. His size and the speed are just a perfect match for Eichel!
-
I'm still all in on the Puljujarvi train. The natural scoring touch was there in last years WJR at 16 and all he did was lead the tournament in scoring this season. He's so talented for his size. I have a strong admiration for Laine for sure. Matthews has done nothing to depreciate his value, and if anything the top three this season is as tempting as last season.
-
Spot on Duds! I still can see Nashville passing them at some point before the end of the season.
-
Ristolainen looked terrible on the left side limitedly, Pysyk would play there easily before he would.
-
Only if they claim a waived Moulson! :D
-
Well yes I agree, but over his last season and a half he was already out the door.
-
Hello, Mr. Stafford clone.
-
Go Samson! Wow a great start tonight! Minus the hiccup by Little to Wheeler.

Mainly because it looks like Matt Greene is not coming back anytime soon. They did it to get a right handed shot defensemen who fits their style. They haven't had much success with Weal, Shore and a couple of other options on the third line. They must view Lecavalier as an upgrade. Not sure why. Lecavalier has already been quoted stating that he will retire at the end of the year. The third for Schenn is about an average return on a pending UFA. Hextall is a great GM. Albeit for the Hartnell for Umberger deal which he did mainly for the amount of years for years.
