  1. Back to reality. Edmonton finally won a game. Looking to get back to tanking, one viewing of "Fury" at a time.
  2. I have really soured on Hodgson, at one time he was one of if not my favorite prospects going back to his days in Vancouver. I thought he was an absolute steal for Kassian. Now almost two plus seasons later, with a contract extension he's lost and in limbo. At this point I would take a Dvorak, Lessio, Karlsson, Dalphin grouping for him. He needs a change of scenery more than other guys.
  3. It's the owner firing their entire front office. That's what they need to do. They need a complete long overdue fundamental shift in their front office. MacTavish makes Feaster look closer to Holland/Murray. Terrible. Interesting...
  4. Back: Not sure I was missed. However, holy hell while I was on vacation did the Sabres pull off some nice wins. They're still within reach of the worst record, even after that 7 in 9 winning streak. Heh.
  5. Okay, Buffalo needs to stop playing San Jose! :P
  6. Girgensons, Ennis, Moulson, Gorges, Myers, and Deslauriers are whom I listed from those above.
  7. #26 Matt Moulson ā€œAā€-#28 Zemgus Girgensons-#63 Tyler Ennis #17 Torrey Mitchell-#65 Bryan Flynn-#12 Brian Gionta ā€œCā€ #82 Marcus Foligno-#8 Cody McCormick-#80 Chris Stewart #44 Nicolas Deslauriers-#21 Drew Stafford-#19 Cody Hodgson Talk about horrible lines.
  8. Nolan is fishing without line or lures. Stafford at center is laughable! :wallbash:
  9. Either works for me overall, but I prefer McDavid. The game breaking ability and creativity in his offensive play will make this team exciting. Just my opinion. I really like Eichel and he would be a great fit either way. It sort of reminds me of a Kane versus Toews debate. Kane is the more exciting offensive dynamo versus Toews who is solid in all phases and is the "leader" you need and want to lead your team forward. Reinhart may fill the second one with some more seasoning. Either way this team needs as much offensive fire power as they can muster. Really if you look at the games versus Chicago, Montreal and others we have the ability to compete for the full 60 minutes. They are progressing.
  10. Daley is producing more at this point. Just to clarify on my original statement.
  11. One thing about Myers offense, he is putting a lot of pucks on net without much return for your investment. That is at least somewhat encouraging? Myers in Dallas would be a blessing for a team that doesn't have much of a pulse back there aside from Trevor Daley.
  12. I agree. I was waiting to see Detroit pull it out and was like well, they are competing. But, at the end of the day Carolina getting their forwards back should propel them forward just slightly enough. We'll truly see what happens come closer to the trade deadline to know for sure.

    Zadorov?

He's really forcing the issue. I understand and he has a right to be upset about having to go back to Junior. Can he play in the AHL yet? There has to be a way to not lose him to the KHL. God, sometimes this stuff enfuriates me. Not ready for the NHL yet, but definitely too good for Junior.
  14. He looked really solid against Chicago's farm club offensively speaking. He could still use some time on the PK and other formats of the game, but I was overly impressed with him and William Carrier. Armia is also making a lot of progress. I would hold him down for the majority of the season.
  15. I cannot agree with you more. Unless its Subban and others coming back the appeal of taking a chunk of his salary for a 2nd rounder is asinine. While I do agree that asking Subban is ridiculous, I wouldn't move Stewart to a rival like that otherwise. It looks like Larsson's name in NJ is available. While it might be a gamble, that's a pedigree that I would love see installed in Buffalo. Still only 21.
  16. Lol, that was a great response. No one can say that he didn't go out and spend to improve and continue to develop. He even said it himself as far back as the trade deadline, he made dozens of calls with little result. Have faith.
  17. I'm thinking a 5-3 Carolina win. I could see Semin coming in and just owning. While this is a complete guess, who knows. Tlusty has been on a tear to start the season for that wrecking ball of a team as well. We'll see what happens. GO SABRES!
  18. They have the obvious cases: Mantha, Mrazek, Jurco, Larkin, Sheahan. The mix-bag of interesting options: Sproul, Almqvist, Turgeon, Frk, Pulkkinen.
  19. Ennis, Stewart, 51-60. Those were my responses. I see Stewart as the guy potentially to light the lamp the most. However it could easily be Moulson or Ennis as well. Total points could be between Ennis/Hodgson.
  20. Very well said. It's about reality versus hope. The reality is, yes the team should be more competitive, but there still is not enough premium talent to make the difference immediately. The horses could be in their stable in the defensive side of things, but there still is a lack of pure goal scoring. I would be nothing more than happy if they make the playoffs, however do I find a likely scenario, no. They've done a good job adding size, grit and character as well as some skill. Looking at the bigger picture, I would rather look like Tampa Bay in the next few seasons than NJ. Who finds a way to stay in the playoff hunt, but really....does not have a sustainable program in the next several seasons. I actually do believe in Tim Murray, for one.
  21. Thank you, I just hope he is open to the up's and down's it will take to become the player he can become. I would attach him to Zemgus' hip and have him room, eat, and train with him night and day. There isn't a better example of how to play prepare for the transition to the NHL like Zemgus has done in his time here. His break away (saw on the video's) was a beauty.
  22. So I missed the game, due to other commitments, how did Sammie Reinhart play? Did he look lost like he did for portions of training camp? Was he pushed around easily?
  23. I've always liked him, but there are some parts of his game that disappear if he's not motivated. That being said, he'll lead the team in goals this season, until/if he's traded. I've been a fan for a while. He is very physical on the puck and uses his size well to get in position.
  24. Go Lemieux! Absolutel love that we'll be seeing this in a few years. He already has a lot of composure, and he'll only get better. Hopefully Connor McDavid joins him as a teammate this season and next.... ;) in Buffalo.
