And the irony is our goaltending is much better than last year.

Imagine: Donny Meatballs sitting in the corner of a dark room with Dylan, casually smoking a cigar, sunglasses on. He stops the film projector, “Dylan, my son, are you ready for McJesus?” -
I loved Quinn’s celebration. Must be a Bills fan.

If we were tanking, we would’ve re-signed Hutton for 1/0.75. A true tank has a blind man in net.

Aside from all the EDM PPs, they are looking good this period. -

Beautiful! -
I really appreciate these posts.

I think Terry would’ve supported Jack getting the ADR surgery if Jack was to be a significant player in the future success of the Sabres. Meaning, he had no attitude issues, was a key leader of the Sabres, wanted to be here and have the team succeed. And most importantly, wasn’t pining to be traded. Think McDavid with the Oilers. Jack failed in all these criteria. So, why would Terry stick his neck out? It would be akin to sticking his neck out for a player on another team.
-
I don’t think they lowballed him - the Bruin’s offer really wasn’t that much more, but the term was. They planned on re-signing him. They were confident enough that they didn’t unload him at the deadline. I just think it’s unlikely that both parties didn’t speak numbers prior to the deadline. However, once Ulmark saw what Boston suddenly came up with, he suddenly experienced a financial epiphany. The Sabres weren’t going to budge though. Linus probably should’ve been more transparent: “I’m 100% going to test the market”. But, who knows what actually happened.
-
I actually think the Sabres believed they would/could re-sign Ulmark, thus didn’t trade him. Maybe he gave off an attitude this was indeed possible or even likely. However, once Linus saw the money involved, he bolted. Lesson learned: have the deal signed before the deadline or ship out. Pinky Promises don’t mean anything.

The ROR trade was never about Tage Thompson. He may have been someone JB asked to have thrown in, but the main targets were the vets. Back then, we were operating under the assumption that all the kids needed to succeed was “veteran presence”.
-
I also think there’s a clear distinction between yelling and abuse. In fact, in my profession, which was considerably abusive during training, there was little/no yelling involved.
-
I think it depends on the context of the yelling. I’m sure McDermott (or any coach) is yelling or yelling at specific players constantly during team practices and games. But, I don’t see this happening once off the field (or ice). I can’t find a reason for a GM to be yelling at employees.
-
I get it, but do you need to go rewatch that Skinner-assisted goal by Tage in Detroit?
-
Lol. Maybe the beer emoticon wasn’t quite the best response.
-
Sounds like a coaching issue. Amerks and Sabres coaching should have similar philosophies and practices.

Mittelstadt and Jokiharju Out for ~2 Weeks (Edit: ~2 Months?!)

Could be a new Tank Technique. GMTM would swiftly trade them away. Now? They’re all injured and can’t rush the healing process. -
Would’ve loved to be sitting at that dinner between Tuch and KA.
-
This is probably closer to the truth, which I don’t think we have a firm grasp on, nor will we ever. Let’s say KA tells Jack he wants to rebuild. The first question a reasonable person would have is “as the most talented player on the team, where the heck do I fit into this?” I doubt KA meant to strip everything to the studs, while keeping Jack still on the team. That’s not a real rebuild. Maybe there were some nonverbal cues that made Jack feel unwanted, he threw a fit, and demanded that HE was going to be the one calling shots and demanded a trade.
-
Correct. The corollary to #1 was this divorce was never about which surgery. Jack had decided he wanted to leave well before he was injured. It was the agent-control media that decided the narrative would be about which surgery and how the Sabres were blocking him. However, I agree with the Sabres. Why assume the risk when the player already decided to leave? Plus, they were never blocking his medical choice.

Oooh. They listened!! -
It wouldn’t matter. It’s past Nov 1st and waiver order is no longer based on last season’s record.
