  1. So, the question becomes, which will come first: the day of alien disclosure by our government or the Sabres making the playoffs?
  2. So basically they are being used as a tool for his agent (and Tuch) to get a better contract.
  3. I hope they give him some time off so he can focus on his problem. There’s no excuse for this and plain stupid, a kid being in the car too makes a bad situation 100x worse.
  4. As long as they don’t get hurt, they can do whatever they want.
  5. Yeah, but we have had excellent/elite play from Dahlin and Tage. I expect this to continue. However, given their already elite play and yet we are still not a playoff team, the push to make it into the playoffs is going to have to come from someone else. So, the question is really, outside of the play we already received last year and the year before, who is going to have to emerge to push us into the playoffs.
  6. I answered Quinn. Could be Norris as well. It needs to be a player that will need to step up his play significantly. I think Quinn is potentially that person.
  7. I’d give them a 3rd.
  8. The problem is signing an older player, even a very good one, with a bad contract to a team who hasn’t made the playoffs in forever is not a sustainable way of producing post-season success. I get why a perennial playoff would do this, because they wouldn’t be depending on this guy to make them a great team over the next 5 years. It would be about the next 1-2 years. We’re nearly up against the cap and not even in any postseason discussions. If they can get Calgary to retain salary, I’d do it solely to try to bring in a guy a winning attitude, never mind what he’d produce on the ice.
  9. It’s large, but next year it will be massive: 25-26: $4.44M 26-27: $6.44M then 3 more years at $2.44M
  10. Quenville certainly knew about what was happening (and didn’t do anything), but he wasn’t the person accused of the act. This isn’t to say Q is a great guy; I wouldn’t want him to run the Sabres. I just don’t feel comfortable with any of these people, guilty or not. This wasn’t something completely fabricated like the Duke lacrosse players. Something happened that night, legal or not, that many of us wouldn’t take part in. Pass.
  11. He was as a jerk? Well, that settles it! Cancel away (I guess).
  12. But Cozens did. It’s just a cleaner comparison to look at the production differential between Cozens and Norris. I still think we benefit more because Norris’s baseline is probably better peak Cozens, with the huge caveat of health.
  13. For many of us, our curiosity and interest around the Sabres very well may have peaked.
  14. I’m still waiting for the 13 game losing streak edition. I’ll even buy a ticket for a game if it’s thrown in.
  15. And it was a ridiculous question at best. Adam’s can be horrible, but at the end of the day, Pegula is the one that continues to employ him as GM. Adams may be A problem, but he’s not THE problem.
  16. Shocker. Bout time the league took notice of this ***** show.
  17. He very well might do this once he finds outs he’s being traded to the Sabres.
  18. Is this Samuelsson, Norris, and Greenway coming up with a plan?
  19. But it hasn’t been easy for Kevyn to ship out a top pairing defenseman for a top 6 forward. He kept telling us defensemen are a valuable “currency”, but so far, he hasn’t been able to get it done. And it’s not even that we want a JJP back, but at least a winger who can score 20 or so goals who’s defensively adept. It’s fine we are keeping Byram (for now), but to me, this is just because Kevyn failed to consummate a decent trade. This feels like a default move rather than something deliberate.
  20. We’ve been told (over and over) that having a surplus of top 4 defensemen is a great problem because you can easily flip them for a top 6 forward….
  21. Do we even know why we had to sign him then? If he’s not going to be in Rochester, what was the rush to sign him? I don’t know anything about the pros and cons to this.
  22. I’ve never liked Greenway. I think people like the idea of a big rough player. But he’s not a difference maker and is usually injured. He’s basically the Samuelsson of the forwards.
  23. That Terry didn’t do this just shows you how out of touch he is. Even it was just an administrative label change done for optics, many of us would actually think progress was being made. But, my bet is that Terry doesn’t “trust” Jarmo yet.
  24. Yeah, I’ll give him this coming year. He really needs to pull together and soon.
  25. Seems like an appropriate return for a Top 3 defenseman. I mean, we sent a first line winger for someone not as flashy has Byram. This guys scores goals, but does he play defense? Or is he in the mold of a JJP?
