  1. Well, we kind of already did this year. Mitts time on ice was 18:16 and Cozens was 17:11. Not counting Tage, if a C is playing better than Cozens next year, he’ll get more playing time.
  2. And let’s hope he’s not brought up again. The only way I would consider Appert is if, once Adams signs some winning vets, we give Donnie a 10-15 game trial at the beginning of next season and he fails. Then fire Meatballs and give the interim tag to Appert.
  3. Agreed. But that C needs to start playing like a 2C. What we need is a vet 3C who can move to 2C if needed. But, I won’t hold my breath.
  4. Funny thing is we’ll have to pay that 2C what we could’ve paid Mitts.
  5. OMG. This is like Groundhog Day. I swear these exact sentiments were said same time last year. It has to become true at some point though, right?
  6. Not only do they fail to get on the board in the 1st period, they also suck in the beginning of the year. To me, I think the reasons for this are the same. They are either unprepared or unwilling to play hard out of the gate. They prefer to respond when it’s do or die. I don’t know if this is due to coaching or the players, but it’s ultimately the coaches job to fix this.
  7. If fired, there’s no way a Donnie stays within the organization as a developmental coach or an assistant coach. That’s quite a slap in the face and none of us would accept a demotion like that. For his own self-respect, he’ll move on to a different situation.
  8. This is great and all, but “choices” depends on availability. KA can dream all he wants, but he can only choose from who is available. For example, there’s no way Byram was available at the time the Chychrun trade went down. Byram’s value was too high at that point. Besides, there’s that little pesky detail that KA said on WGR that he wanted Byram coming back in a potential trade with COL for Eichel. So, basically he was KA’s first choice.
  9. 30 goals? We don’t need no 30 stinking goals.
  10. I‘m unsure which “he” you are speaking of, but either one had/has a starters job with the Sabres. We don’t know exactly why Ulmark left. It could’ve been the death of his father. But, one thing is for sure. UPL could’ve also very well think he needs a change of scenery. One where he doesn’t have to put up with the Levi ball washing.
  11. If you would UPL, would you resign with the Sabres? I’m prepared for Ulmark 2.0.
  12. Been thinking about this thread for days. I don’t buy the whole approach of comparing the Sabres to bottom dwellers. True, they all have losing in common. But there’s fundamental flaws in most of these teams. There are teams out there, no matter what they do, and they will still lose. Some say they are “cursed” or ownership or whatever. Who knows. But these are certainly not the teams we should use as a yardstick for progress. If an “educated” opinion believes they are, they prove they are likely part of the problem, not the solution. As such, their opinion should be ignored.
  13. I agree. The video is incredible. Traffic was flowing fairly briskly, then luckily thinned out to almost none right before the ship hit.
  14. Good point. Maybe someone should go to Cabo with them and help them select the right things to eat. Or make them carry their luggage instead of rolling it.
  15. I’m a big Benson fan and still think he’s a prospect, despite playing in the NHL. He’s only 18 and has shown flashes of brilliance this year. Compared to anyone else, he’s going to be the prospect that takes the next big step. Dude has to put in a great offseason though. Needs to get bigger and stronger.
  16. He should’ve got 10+ games.
  17. They are acting like they are already on the big club already. It’s odd we are not only seeing players take a large step back on the Sabres, but the Amerks too. More evidence some housecleaning needs to happen.
  18. I just got back from a business trip in Prague. Very pretty city. Probably picking it because it’s cheaper than a larger city.
  19. It I “shouted it down”, I would’ve bolded it or maybe used the word “emphatically”. Trust me, the irony is not lost on me. But, sorry for having an opinion differing from another opinion. What was I thinking?
  20. Yeah, maybe he could be down in the CHL helping change diapers.
  21. I don’t agree with this at all. It should stop. Okie was well-respected in the locker room. Maybe too much “best friend Dad” vibes. When the Sabres shipped him out, it sent a messages. Dad’s gone because you guys sucked. Look what you did. So, no more bull *****. It sent a message. In addition, perhaps the biggest message, with Mitts being shipped out, was “look, you could be next. Party is over.” Unfortunately, I don’t think Tage got the memo.
  22. And some of these players want to be competing for spots on the big club next year. Levi is playing his part. The rest (ie Rosen, Kulich) better wake the F up.
  23. This is fine. Will probably decrease the number of Laughs fans. Will not impact people who actually buy the tickets to go to the games.
