  1. One of my friends watched it. Said she lost brain cells watching it and wanted her 2 hours back.
  2. Agreed. I just think it’s shortsighted not to draft a potentially elite winger or RHD in order to draft a center with a 2C ceiling (or even a poor man’s 1C ceiling) just because we haven’t drafted many C’s in the last few drafts. That’s how bad teams stay bad.
  3. We have been a bottom dweller for many years, so have needs everywhere. If you can’t see a drafted center becoming a 1C, you don’t draft him in the 1st and you take the BPA. We need elite talent pretty much everywhere (except maybe LHD).
  4. Taxi Squad coming?
  5. I understand. But, there has been layers of failure between Terry and the final scores of hockey games. Besides agreeing to sign free agents (or not) and selecting the people to run your hockey department, I’m just not sure how responsible Terry is for our losing streak. He doesn’t construct rosters nor coach players how to play (at least not that we’re aware of!). That said, Terry is directly responsible for hiring both TM and JB. And both of them were failures at the time of their firing. But can we honestly say we would’ve done things differently? Both TM and JB came highly regarded around the league. Is he responsible not hiring a team President to oversee hockey operations? Absolutely. However, TM was fairly insulated with experienced AGMs, so was likely acting as a de facto President. And hiring a president of hockey operations certainly wouldn’t have guaranteed success, as they would likely have been retreads. As for Golisano, if Terry was the owner at the time, I doubt both Briere and Drury would’ve left.
  6. There’s so many bad NHL owners. Terry is tolerable. At least he has pockets deep enough to get FA help when needed. There’s few out there with the ability to spend as Terry can. Do we really want to go back to the small market mentality where we know we won’t be able to make any FA splashes? Do we want another caretaker owner like Galisano (“suffering”) where we know we won’t be able to compete?
  7. Got the scooter attachment for our hoverboard for me, I mean, my son. Turns it into a mini go-cart.
  8. The league should’ve had contingency plans already written out well before this. That another variant has popped up should be a surprise to no one (except our Federal government leaders).
  9. People should be careful what they wish for. Hockey owners are not exactly choir boys. Since Knox, we’ve had a fraud. Then an owner who had Darcy break out the “suffering” word. Terry may meddle at times, as is his right, but I do think he values winning.
  10. Make sure the Leafs are all health and well-rested?
  11. Not a horrible thing considering our injuries and the Olympics-void will go away. Would like to get as many players back as possible.
  12. Anyone know if Toker is still alive? It seems once players get sick or injured on this team, they disappear.
  13. Can’t see why they would bring someone in to run the day-to-day when they have the business acumen of Kim under their roof.
  14. I don’t see how the NHL could possibly go through with the Olympics at this point.
  15. Yeah, I know. I haven’t given up on Skinner yet though. If he was making $4-5M, I think we wouldn’t mind him. It’s just his history and that contract.
  16. Doesn’t work, as in doesn’t hit the cap floor? Would be in favor of adding a high-priced stay at home Defenseman, rather than a forward Besides that, I would switch Skinner with Krebs. Wouldn’t want to saddle Mitts with 2 rookies at once.
  17. Thanks for the updates.
  18. I’m not an expert in evaluating amateur hockey players, but outside of Wright and maybe Savoie, is anyone seeing 1C potential in any of this year’s prospects? Instead of reaching for a C, maybe we should just go BPA that’s not a LHD.
  19. This is what happens when you have players who feel they were born to be Jets. The Sabres don’t have this problem any longer. They would give anything to be able to bleed blue and gold.
  20. According to the article on ESPN: “This is a far longer runway on this than a loss to Buffalo," he said. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/32889537/winnipeg-jets-coach-paul-maurice-resigns-9th-season I just love how the media wants to blame as on the Sabres. Like “just how could you ever lose to the lowly Sabres?”
  21. Incredibly save. These were the types of saves Hasek would do on purpose.
  22. It seems like a lot of highly touted prospects are playing lackluster this year. Wonder how much the Covid disruption had on their development. Is this going to be the strong, deep draft year we thought it would be?
  23. If this is indeed the case, and it may be, but how can you explain Dell or Subban? Shouldn’t they have been getting the kid gloves treatment as well? Instead, it was blow out after blow out. What about losing two 3-goal leads in a row. Shouldn’t they have played this type of defense in those 3rd periods? And lastly, let’s say for sake of argument that the Sabres are indeed providing a more sturdy defense in front of UPL, isn’t this how the game is intended to be played? Do the top teams in the league not do this as well? Seems like a winning formula to me once we have a little bit more talent on the team.
  24. Bills: “hold my beer”
  25. It was. Bunch of gray buildings. The Red Guard. The air quality. I enjoyed the food though. However, what broke things for me was the lack of coffee in the morning. Was very hard to find. I also had a fever for half my days there and spent a good amount of time in the hotel room bed. Ohh, almost forgot. The bathrooms…wouldn’t wish them on my worse enemy. No toilet paper anywhere. However, the best bathrooms in the city were in the National Center for the Performing Arts. That was a cool building.
