If I want a young RHD playing in Buffalo within 1-2 seasons, I’m going to pick him with our first pick. I look at Johnson and Muel and it seems like any defender taken past the top 15 takes much longer to develop than a forward. If we do end up going forward first, then we must be looking to fill the right side with either off-hand players or FAs (not a good sign).

Hope he didn’t re-injure him. Would totally be a Sabre thing to happen. -

Agreed. The depth will come though. I don’t think we should be signing vets to serve as this depth though, because they’ll just block the future. I imagine this depth will be coming from guys we have in Rochester, players we drafted last year, and the coming draft. Funny thing is, not too long ago, most of us were dismissing Krebs as a poor man’s rhino. His brief stint in Rochester was mostly forgettable. We were obviously wrong. -

Not an issue. We have a handful of players ready to make the jump next year. And some are already on the team. I think we’re gonna be better than we think next year. But, this will depend on goaltending. -
If the Sabres are considering Lambert, they’ll need to do their DD. Get him and his Dad in the same room to get their opinions on him playing for the Sabres, then speak to them separately. Then go speak with every coach he’s had.

He’s done no crime, free him!

The problem with this Olympics (and probably more to come) is the blatant corruption. We have this and now mercenaries playing for team China when the IOC rules are that you must be a citizen to represent and compete for a country. At least 18 of the 22 players of the Chinese hockey team are non-citizens. And Eileen Guo refuses to answer questions about her citizenship. I think this is the beginning of the end of the Olympics as we know it.

This guy is just a good dude. And I didn’t know the Thunder existed. Extremely glad it does.

What’s the chance of bringing him over to Rochester for next year to have a more hands-on impact in his development?

Really, the punishment for these types of offenses should double for each repeated offense: 1, 2, 4, 8, etc. People wouldn’t even have to wonder what the next suspension will be. That would quickly put a damper of actions like these.

From a pediatrician’s standpoint, one rule of thumb is to average both parent’s height (the is call mid-parental height) and to add 2 inch for a male and subtract 2 inches for females. Now, of course there’s always exceptions to this, but studies have show kids usually fall within the +/- 1.5 standard deviations of the mid-parental height 90% of the time.

Sabres: hold my beer.

If I’m correct, there was a family connection with Nightingale and Bloom’s team. This is how you get the inside scoop, especially if a player is shutdown for whatever reason.

Geez, I had to watch that a few times and still don’t know exactly how he did that.

Kris Baker: possible Sabre college FA signings

I don’t think it’s fair to Levi to start for a team with a suspect defense. Let’s give him a year for our D to gel more, unless we bring in some defense-first vets on the right side. -
That is a f’ing joke. The only reason players participate for the bargaining chip come contract time.

What do you want to see from the Sabres in last 37 games?
kas23 replied to Crusader1969's topic in The Aud Club
I have lower standards: 1) Get quality goaltending from who we have right now. That is, not have goaltending be the primary concern every frickin night. 2) Continued improvement (any amount). 3) No more injuries -
Maybe if we blindfold them they’ll score more goals.

Obviously their punishment wasn’t enough or it was aimed at the wrong people.

I don’t think they are incentivized the way Flores alleges - where a coach gains extra money. But, is keeping one’s job incentive enough?

While (as of today) it would be pure speculation to suggest it is happening in the NHL, I think it’s absolutely possible. Is it likely? Probably not. While I don’t think offering money to lose a game is happening (or ever has), it’s obvious some GMs have purposely constructed rosters to lose. On that note, everyone on here would love to know why Patty La abruptly resigned.

Nor did Vegas draft Tuch.
