I think you’re having unrealistic expectations about this game. For better or worse, this game was made out to be about Jack coming back by multiple independent parties. The announcers couldn’t shut up about it. The Sabres made a video. Multiple media sites played it as such, including local media. And the fans cheered and booed as fans do. The fans were justified in having said reaction just as much as everyone else who made a big deal about this game. That said, and I’m sure you’d agree, Eichel could’ve handled the interview in a more graceful or good hearted manner, even while throwing plenty shade at the fans.

I still would want a better back up for UPL. I think it’s in our best long-term interest to keep Levi and/or Portillo in Rochester, regardless of what emergency may be occurring on the Sabres bench.

Of course, it would’ve negatively impacted his trade value. The team made the right decision there.

There’s absolutely no way the Sabres finish last next year. We should see continued improvement from players on the roster now, plus all JAGs replaced by very talented (yet unproven) players.

I would move Okie if the deal is a very favorable one. It’s not that I don’t value his contribution, it’s more because he deserves to contend and possibly win a cup. The deal would have to be very good though.
