Great game. Interesting names: Tkachuk, MacInnis, Bellows all looking to enter the family business

I was at his first game. But we agree on the NFC East

I think you are correct at around 24. http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/2014/3/13/5500522/nhl-scoring-stats-rates-age-analysis. Here is the article. The author seems to be well cited. I think Stamkos is a heckuva player. A pure goal scorer. But he was playing second line wing in the SCF. I think it is a matter of the Bolts having an embarrassment of riches in their system.

Anyone watching this? The talent level is pretty impressive and the game is entertaining. They also interviewed Griffin Luce, Don's grandson. Man do I feel old.

While I think your characterization of TM wanting to accelerate the rebuild is accurate, I can't see anyway he would trade Eichel for anything less than a guaranteed long term superstar. Without the ability to extend SS he would be looking for a job today had he made that move. There seems to be a strong sense that the rebuild is over. I think the tear down has been completed and there is still work to do on the foundation. This. There was a chart on TSN showing production for all NHL players peaking at 22. After that you have a slow decline. If Jack makes the transition to elite sooner, the economics are a no brainier.

Unless Edmonton had buyer's remorse, I can't see the conversation lasting very long. But GMTM reminds us constantly that it his job to make calls and take calls so I give that part of the story credence.

I don't think this logically follows. If the "kit" was sealed in the bag, it would have to have been opened at some point to be examined. Whether the bag was considered part of the "kit" would lend question to the completeness of the evidence, but not necessarily impugn the remaining items. Not disagreeing with the remaining discourse just pointing out that the initial premise may not be true.

My observations of both games, as I think you need to look at them together. The d corps was much better night one and it showed in the second and third with respect to transitioning and the PK. Last night, there was little to no transition and if there was it started with the forward group. Risto has not stepped on the ice yet and i expect that after cuts that group as a whole will gain cohesion. There was rust from those we expected or should have expected rust. Practice, scrimmages etc., are no substitute for game action albeit preseason. Ignoring the rust, I think Bylsma will re-evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the line combo's. I echo the comments that Samson needs a finisher. I disagree that he was timid. I thought he was solid in both zones but is not going to try and make an individual flashy play if it puts himself out of position. I would rather see Larson on his wing than either Gionta or McGinn rust notwithstanding. Or maybe Foligno over McGinn. Kane will be a bull in a china shop. He plays the way we wished Stewart would play. Chemistry will take a bit but I am not worried about shooting too much. Rebounds make great passes. It takes goalies longer to acclimate to the speed of the NHL game, IMHO, than other returning vets. I will give Lehner the benefit of the doubt, but my opinion of him wasn't helped. He just seemed to be fighting to many things. Angles, rebounds, screens. there was no smoothness and that could be rust. I am not expecting a playoff team. I hope that GMTM and DD take their time and evaluate the talent and the options for using it wisely. If that produces a late season run and playoff spot, gravy. If not I would rather see them develop the future even at the price of the present. In either event, I think they will be much more aggressive and enjoyable to watch this season. Looking forward to Friday already.

10 NHL veterans (2015 first round picks count in this group.) According to website, Moulson, Girgs, Eichel, Chad Johnson playing. 6 others must suit up, I would think Weber, Franson, Bogo at a minimum. Just speculating.

Rex Ryan is a tool. Taylor should be washing cars. He is the hallucination of a tool. We had a good defense. We needed someone to develop Manuel not discard him for a journeyman wildcat wannabe. I hope they don't win another game and Ryan is discarded to Walmart greeter where he belongs.

Remember Eichel is still the rookie. He may be a 2nd overall pick, but he is approaching this as he is not on the team until he earns it. I wouldn't expect him to be a chatterbox until he believes he has a role and is part of the team.

Tanking is a much more dubious proposition in light of the new draft rules. I think rebuilding, which I always thought is the proper term for total organizational transformation, is what they are doing. Clear your cap through short contracts with serviceable AHL players, give young guys a chance to show what they have, deal any assets that can be leveraged for potentially better future assets and instill a different way of going about your business are all legitimate goals in the short term. If they improve their chances a top pick so be it but as we have seen the lottery balls can be finicky. In either event, they will be less talented in the short term, but the sideshow should be hilarious. As a side note, the Cubs made a conscious decision to build their farm and not try and buy a title, and looks like the early returns are quite positive.

Based on recent precedent, i.e. Richards, Voynov, without a criminal complaint, the Hawks couldn't not let him come to camp. He is under contract, they can't suspend him, and the NHLPA would probably go to the mat to defend his right to work absent any legal prohibition to his participation. I inferred this was the calculus involved.

I think you nailed it with the possible exception of "First Buffalo Goal"....but memories are fickle creatures...

What were your impressions of the ot format? Assuming you were there of course. -
first, if you can find the bas$&rd I would like to "talk" to him or her privately for a bit. They never stopped. But my case is one of negligence, unless it was a botched hit of some sort. They should be prosecuted for the traffic infraction, failing to stop at a stop sign and leaving the scene, as well as bear the financial responsibility for my medical bills. That is the way the system works. Now the person may have been rushing to the aid of someone else, and while I'm still angry, I might be a bit more forgiving. I think this is different than if this person deliberately tried to hurt me. That is the difference in the Kane situation and I will not speak ill of whatever the accuser decides. If you find the person who hit me, I would really like to "talk" to them, alone. lol...ouch that hurts!

Sorry for not responding sooner. Hit by a car while riding my bike and cracked two ribs. I did not re read King but the salient point as I recall, was that there was enough evidence to support probable cause in the instance where the sample was taken. That it implicated the defendant in another crime was deemed of less import. I think in instances where the investigation has no sample to compare to, an order to compel would be unreasonable because the state would have no interest whatsoever. But I am still a little fuzzy.

How about closing it. I cannot see any circumstance where Kane would be traded to the Sabres. If exonerated, he will likely not be traded. If not he will likely not be playing in the NHL for some time.
