You are arguing for removing the ability to challenge a missed offsides. I agree that shouldn't be within the purview. But as it stands it is. There was no whistle between the missed call and the challenge. Upon conclusion of play and the whistle, they challenged. There was no abuse. That is exactly how the drew it up. The wisdom of putting the new rule in is assailable on many fronts, and I am not defending it. I am pointing out it worked as the league designed it.

Agreed, but for a missed whistle we do not score. I hate the idea of coach's challenges but this is exactly why they put it in. There is no difference between our goal and a missed off side on a breakaway. There should have been a whistle. I will be the first to sign the petition to repeal the challenge rule.

We are probably saying the same thing. Goals are reviewed. High stick goals are reviewed. Kicks are reviewed. The need for a challenge on an off side is probably specious at best. But that's the rule. And they got it right in this case. No, the play continues until,a,whistle score. Same in both cases. Someone upstairs looks at the video and sees ob/offsides. The whistle hasn't blown play hasn't stopped in either case. Same thing.

Theybwere offside. The linesman missed it. The Sabres scored. Huge advantage Sabres. The challenge clearly showed a whistle should have blown. It is no different than a runner steeping ob on a long td. But for a missed call no td. Same thing here. No eliminate a challenge of a missed off sides. I have no problem eliminating it. But that is the rule and it was a good challenge.

I don't need to, the new rule was played like a Stradivarius. The linesman missed an offside. The Sens challenged according to the rule. Well played.

There would have been no flow that resulted in a goal. It would have been a face off outside the zone.

If the play was called we never gain the zone. The idea that the missed goal had no effect is simply not true. If the linesman blows the whistle there is a face off at the blue line. Either way no goal. I have no problem with that. The worm will turn for us down the road. I would prefer if they removed the coaches challenge altogether but it was a great use of the challenge by Ottawa.

Pysyk is here to stay. Larsson is not going anywhere. We desparately need Bogo back. Ochocinco was solid all things considered. McGinn surprised but needs the physicality of the third from the get go. Risto was rusty but it came together in the third. Jack. Nuff said.

BS. Kane played hard every shift and was tough to play against. I will never question his heart or his method. He strikes fear in the opposition. Jack will too in short order.
