  1. I am as excited to see Kane play on the first line as I am to see Jack and Samson contribute at the NHL level. I believe the play of these three in particular is a great barometer of our future potential.
  2. Carrier behind Possler? Interesting. And no Ulmark...also curious.
  3. From a purely legal perspective, you consciously engage in the the act of imbibing, regardless of any level of addiction. once you do you cannot rely on the logical outcome, i.e. impairment of judgement, to excuse subsequent actions. This is the basis for DUI. By your logic, the fact that you are impaired would excuse the act of getting behind the wheel. In the eyes of the law it does not. A person cannot consent when impaired, whether through substance abuse or natural lack of mental acuity. A sober person cannot assume another sober person's consent. That a perpetrator who is impaired acts if they can, they do so at their own peril.
  4. You neither said too much nor conveyed too little. Thanks for posting.
  5. She has the Angelina Jolie look.
  6. I cant see her spending much time in BLo once the snow flies. Evander might be logging frequent flyer miles buy the truckload.
  7. Their property CCM, has the next big thing in the sport under contract. Leveraging that will give their brand another global face with a decided Canadian roots. Nike has McIlroy, UA Spieth now CCM/Adidas has McJesus. Smart move to move now if he will be the face of ads on jerseys.
  8. Most CLE courses dealing with the subject are of the Ethics variety, and the general theme of all that I have taken have been, avoid social media like the plague. You put your office hours on it, but the potential for harm to your reputation and worse inadvertently disclosing confidential client info is too much for the little benefit to be gained.
  9. True, but the authority that a police officer carries 24/7 can create a sense of hubris on the part of the protected. The "authority" is serving him/her, and can create a perception that they are if not above the law, somehow part of its enforcement. I know that with tight budgets that hardworking honest officers are looking for ways to supplement their incomes and wouldn't want great officers to leave public service for the private sector, but I have seen some very unusual bedfellows here in Chicago where off duty police are providing security at clubs and events that probably needed investigation not security.
  10. Nature also follows the path of least resistance, resulting in crooked rivers and crooked men.
  11. I look forward to your report. In the interest of science of course.
  12. Seems a tad restrictive. I think it might hamper mobility. :flirt:
  13. I had to do this earlier this year in IL. Walmart will print it for you. Crayfish or imitations always are a great search bait. I have some decent success this year with the basspro coffee and salt tubes. The fish seem to hold them a split second longer.
  14. Fixed it for you. And nothing in the edits bares on whether the alleged events occurred or not. It has moved into a system that often times seems counter intuitive
  15. I am providing information about the publisher of the article. Whether they have a bias is up to the reader. I evaluate all the information presented to me with an eye towards its source in case there is a bias. Just a public service as I believe I simply posted information about the source.
  16. Source. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Reason_Foundation
  17. Why? Many here assume that motivation for being at the scene is somehow relevant. Suppose it was as innocent as an invitation to see a unique painting, or the availability of goumet food, or a special bottle of wine. The overtones being implied on both sides are highly specious and will come out only if charges are filed and the case submitted to a finder of fact. I think the visceral reaction is to the assumption that due to the hour, and the status of the accused, that sex was on everyone's mind prior to arriving at the scene. If we start the discussion that there was a valid reason to be at the scene other than either party's expectation of intimacy, it is much fairer to the each side.
  18. He wears those colors well. Couldn't be more excited for TC.
  19. Its never about me :flirt: . But scapegoat implies blame and I ask "blame for what?" Any individual play can have a scapegoat. A loss can have many. If the question is who will people project their frustration on if their expectations for the playoffs are not met? I will say Murray. I think Eichel will get a pass and Samson will be the target of alot of angst as he goes through his NHL growing pains on a nightly basis.
  20. I look at it differently. I do not plan to have a scapegoat because I view this roster like a start up company or a beta product. Transitioning from the whiteboard to the marketplace brings with it a lot of uncertainty. Adjustments will need to be made, changes in focus and asset allocation. I have set simple milestones: offensive improvement, defensive improvement, and a more aggressive and quicker style of play. Playoffs isn't a measurable because too many things are out of the control of the organization. It can also be a false positive in that making the playoffs in a down year might not be correlated to overall improvement of the team but a weaker than normal market. The Sabres have earned patience from me for two to three more years, and I am investing for the long term. YMMV
  21. Hmmm...interesting choice of questions. Previous polls were focused on projecting where the player fit in or where their ceiling would be. I make a distinction between the player and asset use so I have to think about this one. PS: This is not intended to derail this thread into a discussion of trade value/ player value.
  22. I am not to blame. I am now addicted to broadband, 4gb downloads and an instantaneous gratification. The Matrix has won :P
