  1. Has Murray made the team? I hope not. I need more better players. And Murray can be that one day... but he is not a Jedi yet. More better. Gimme gimme gimme.
  2. It's the ongoing issue of grit. And it's not fighting or being a goon or lighting someone up. It's the complete avoidance of contact. When the opposing player knows there is no chance of being hit and the only issue is a possible stick getting in the way of his pass or clear, they take their time. They make the right play and then break up ice themselves unimpeded because our skaters have already done their fly by. Okposo had one shift in the early part of the year (maybe game 1) where he finished two checks, and then Girgs and Eakin probably each had one. Changed the entire complexion of the game. But it can't just be them. Each line once per period needs to simply finish their checks. Instantaneously harder to play against.
  3. I'm beginning to think this Marchand Lookalike Convention was a bad idea.
  4. Get clear, Jeff. You're no good back there. Skinner: Sorry. (Of course, Wedge is the ultimate hero of the Rebellion, so I'm not sure it's a valid comparison.)
  5. Bad loss. With the caveat of the 2-goal lead going into the 3rd. Overall, a better game than they've played since the pause.
  6. All too easy. Poor shot choice by Skinner. Tage was nowhere near the front of the net.
  7. Carlo gives a slash after the whistle every time his goalie holds the puck.
  8. These were not the goals I was looking for.
  9. Good. Let's see how the kids react. No Alamo. Remember the Death Star!
  10. I thought Boston would continue their surge into the 2nd. Instead, Buffalo wins the period. All that despite not shooting much on the PPs and letting Boston continue to dominate the shot scoreboard.
  11. I never saw Eichel get an assist on his own goal. Just sayin'.
  12. Now to make them pay for shooting like a Stormtrooper.
  13. Now follow it up with a couple good shifts...
  14. Tripping was obvious. The holding the stick shortly after Boston's 3rd PP expires and the missed call on Butcher -- that's just trying to bring balance to the Force. Of course, our PP has been a hack job since the first week of the season. Krebs makes nice cross-ice passes. Someday someone is going to score on one of those shots, or do a pass back to Krebs for a tap-in.
  15. Good, get some makeup calls and balance it out. And... let's get the PP cooking.
  16. He's also doing play-by-play from Buffalo on a TV screen. The road announcers are tough around the league. But yes... his call of the game even at home is a little lackluster.
  17. The meaning of life: reach. Just keep reaching. Then, reach even further until you're off balance and no longer in good position and trip up on the experience.
  18. Boston was waking up in the latter half of the 1st. Now they'll elevate their game and the Sabres need to respond. Should be fun to see.
  19. In my experience there's no such thing as luck.
