Yup. Those tenths all add up. Now, I don't expect Levi to roll a .958 in the NHL. But, it puts in perspective how much goaltending means. A solid NHL goalie at a .915 is 20 goals better than a .905 (backup), and that's 20 more goals than a .895 (Hutton-level). Then, go the other direction .925. And then there's Hasek at .935. Over the course of an entire season, a Hasek is 80 goals better than a Hutton, all things else being equal.

More Alleged Lowlife Behavior by Evander Kane
DarthEbriate replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
All San Jose had to do was wait for him to mess up and be able to terminate the contract and free up the cap space. Kane complied. It's too bad he can't get out of his own way, because he's a darn good middle six winger with oodles of upside. Poor shot selection perhaps, but capable of 30 goals in the right situations. -
Asplund was terrible tonight. Opening missed shot chance, then a bad giveaway, and then this. And he doesn't have to go in and blow the player up. Just stand them up, stay in position, and force a battle for the puck. It can always pop loose and become an instant pass for a scoring opportunity (see SJ's 1st goal where the Shark battled Thompson, made a pass, and then the rebound became a goal).

Correct. In Lucas' original story Luke was a Starkiller and his father was another character entirely. For Empire, the original script by Leigh Brackett still had no familial relations. So it wasn't until during production that script tweaks/revisions with Kasdan's script brought in the father/son connection for drama's sake. (Perhaps this is why Disney thought they could just let things develop organically? Who knows. But that's a bold move for a corporation with a franchise and not a solo author working on a single script.)

Ah -- so, Leia was not Luke's sister until late in script development. I don't know that the sister was going to be part of Return of the Jedi, but once it was, then Lucas just kinda shrugged and made Leia the sister. Which just made everything needlessly complicated and also dull. No love triangle, no conflict, but also all sorts of weird stuff in hindsight.

True. If you're going to build a trilogy in today's day-and-age, it had better be three parts of a pre-planned story. The original Star Wars got away with it because the first one caught lightning in a bottle and the 2nd was a really good little film. And you had a big baddie that your character could find some form of redemption through (regardless of how poor the "plan" to rescue Han was and how silly it was to have Leia/Luke be siblings instead of his sister being someone else off-screen).

I mean... you're not wrong. You had a simple B-movie and then a pretty solid sequel that expanded things. Then, a conclusion that was fine in story A, but rote, and with a baffling character choice so as not to introduce new people to the cast. Then, a cash grab 15 years later with a story that didn't need to be told and feels like a first draft although the story beats are sensible. And then you have three different authors building as they go for a finale.

Great save. But... not the start I had in mind.

Mess! Nonsense! My home this is!

Biron... watching the Sabres. Analyst, gambler, scum... you'd like him.

Vinnie's glad the skate was sideways and that visors are standard these days.

Ah yes... memories are flooding back to me. The Hertl line was unstoppable against us all those weeks ago when Olofsson had just gotten hurt and the season was about to take a terrible turn for a month.

Good to see Cozens back.

What you say is true... from a certain point of view.

Tighten up those spaces in that em dash. Good work on the en with the score.

Validation for hours and hours of font designers who put in all the kerning and parameters for font sets like wingdings over the ages.

Is Michkov's NHLe a case of the recent prowess of Kucherov, Panarin, and Kaprizov resetting the equations it's reflecting as a temporary spike in the values from MHL players?

That's what I don't get, too. Why is the walking happening? The commercial itself is innocuous. But it's the gait!

Has Murray made the team? I hope not. I need more better players. And Murray can be that one day... but he is not a Jedi yet. More better. Gimme gimme gimme.

It's the ongoing issue of grit. And it's not fighting or being a goon or lighting someone up. It's the complete avoidance of contact. When the opposing player knows there is no chance of being hit and the only issue is a possible stick getting in the way of his pass or clear, they take their time. They make the right play and then break up ice themselves unimpeded because our skaters have already done their fly by. Okposo had one shift in the early part of the year (maybe game 1) where he finished two checks, and then Girgs and Eakin probably each had one. Changed the entire complexion of the game. But it can't just be them. Each line once per period needs to simply finish their checks. Instantaneously harder to play against. -

I'm beginning to think this Marchand Lookalike Convention was a bad idea.
