  1. And Dahlin will flip you. Flip you for real. (you being the puck... right to the blue line for a walk-in goal)
  2. Tuch! Tu-uch! If you get a Tager, be sure it scores goals! ---It doesn't look like we have much of a choice, but I'll remind him. Also, it's pronounced Tuch. Not Tuuch. Deal with it. Leia Liea, Han Haen, Tuch Tuuch. We don't know how anything is pronounced!
  3. We're bouncing through their deflector shields!
  4. Crossbar or no -- good kill, gents!
  5. Good job, Murray. No one roughs up our goalie. No one roughs up Okposo.
  6. Good point on the broadcast. The Devils needed that break. They got players back including Subban and got away from one win in their last 11. The Sabres, on the other hand, went into the pause playing well and about to get Tuch for free. Instead, they've cut a 1/3 of their lineup with COVID.
  7. I think we're going to like Peterka.
  8. I love the series overall, even some of the biggest warts, because it has some of the highest "moments of awesome" and epic-est bits of high fantasy out there. And yes, I even like the slog because the writer in me was eating popcorn watching Jordan try to keep all the plates spinning. And I also agree: there are abundant issues. Especially early on it is also a product of its time in terms of author/'80s sci-fi teen fanboys as targets/LOTR being the basis of all fantasy, etc. And that's where a TV conversion could work wonders. Strip out the sprawl and streamline it. Fill out some of the main ideas and emphasize them (Aes Sedai in charge of the world/distrust of men and the power). The potential is there for something fun, unique, and wildly visually stunning. And after watching season 1 -- the potential is there. But... wow. Limiting the scripts from (10-12?) down to 8 episodes is a problem for pacing and character-building. COVID impacts on the shoots and storylines are obvious. And losing a primary actor somewhere into shooting really threw a wrench into it. When they get a chance to do a scene and slow down and breathe -- it often works. But there are stretches of incoherence and spots where it's an obvious rewrite/pickup scene and everyone is 6 feet away from each other and the script can't get everything across that is missing. It is disjointed. And yet... it's fine for a pilot year, so to speak, if you look at it with the lens of a pilot. Just look at what COVID protocols are doing to the Sabres/Amerks lineups today... I'm imagining what that would impact in terms of trying to rewrite/reshoot an episode of a TV show midstream.
  9. I'm using Chrome. Here in the Sabrespace text box the option (right-click) is Paste as plain text, but I think it could vary depending on the application/platform.
  10. The 50th Anniversary of All Things Must Pass box album... It's pretty nice to hear a remix with the vocals brought forward and lightly de-reverbed. Remove the emphasis on Spector's Wall of Sound strings and get the embellishments of the vocals, guitars, and pianos instead. Lots of outtakes, too. And my mother-in-law bought tickets (herself, my wife, me) to the Bears-Seahawks game. They're Bears fans and I despise the Seahawks and we were all happy with the fun and impressive outcome. Plus, the snowstorm was a nice atmospheric touch.
  11. Paste unformatted or Paste text only should work. Or paste into a .txt Text file first, then bring it into where you want to strip out the formatting.
  12. Don't worry, we're still flying half the ship the roster.
  13. I'm standing here in pieces and you're Our goaltending still consists of a 40 year-old with an undisclosed UBI that sounds like a concussion who was going to retire before the season and hasn't played in almost 2 months, an AHL starter-caliber guy who has made an amazing save, a lifelong AHLer who has been steady in limited appearances and has been out with COVID for a month, a rookie who has had one good week of NHL hockey, and an AHL-level guy who was on the decline the past few seasons as an NHL backup and was worse this year... and we're having delusions of grandeur. I love 'Space.
  14. Given the Canada and Russia all LHD discussion, the adding Chychrun as a lefty ideas... So where does the righty come from? The team has pipeline of defense and that's good. Finally it's happening. I want a playoff-grizzled, checker/shotblocker Warrener type to be a guide for one the kids as a UFA/trade-for-a-2nd type guy. But also -- let's look inside: From a talent side, Dahlin has the hands and skill to play on the right boards. We see him do it on the PP -- corral the clearing attempt or pass, step back to the center of the ice on his forehand and shoot. And he did it as a kid in the SHL. He can move to the right. That's probably the easiest move. Now, if Dahlin is going to stay on the lef -- If I'm Matty the Muel Samuelsson, I'm clamoring to try my hand on the right side. Before I get to UFA I get 3-5 seasons of playing with Dahlin or Power as their steady rough-and-tumble rock, get plenty of ice time and secondary assists, open shooting lanes because the defense respects them more than me... and 20+ minutes a night. If I'm stuck behind both of them I get maybe 16 minutes of ice per night and most of that on the PK. My ticket to big money is having the "LD/RD" listed next to my name on the roster and skating with one of the franchise guys.
  15. Until I rewatch them in preparation to see the new one, this is my recollection as well. The one redeeming thing about Revolutions (see what I did there?) that I can remember was that it had the swirling school-of-fish robot attacks. I thought that that was an inspired choice for robot intelligence to make... if completely illogical in that it allows the enemy to concentrate their fire on focused area. Rather than just swarming from all sides at once when you have overwhelmingly significant numbers and are operating in a three-dimensional battlefield where your squidbots can fly. So --- it looked cool, but it was really foolish choice for a superior intellect. Also just watched the finale of Wheel of Time season 1. And it was... fine? It was fine. I think the remainder of however many seasons they do with it will also be fine. Maybe not as fine as Samson Reinhart's career will be fine.
  16. The odds of Team China medaling are still 3720:1. Until! the entirety of Teams Kazakhstan and Poland find themselves in quarantine right before the medal round.
  17. GM Sheevyn cackles: "RHD problem... solved. Effective, Efficient. Economical." Also, Fitz was super solid last night.
  18. That save needs its own thread.
  19. Oh Eakin... trying to pull an Eichel on the OT faceoff. Immediate 2-on-1 break. Game over.
  20. Now... win the draw. Shoot and score. And finish these punks in regulation
  21. Nice pinch and steal by Dahlin there. A little more patience and we might have had someone get to the net. One good shift and we can steal this game outright. Death Star mode. Never forget!
