  1. I think Nolan is an exceptional coach at getting players to give everything they have and in cases where the team isn't very talented, getting them to play above their talent level, through sheer motivation, the players love and respect for him which makes them willing to literally skate through the end boards for him, and the way he mentally prepares them to be ready to give their best. That being said, I don't think he is a good enough X's and O's coach to match wits with other NHL coaches with top level talent. I think you would see him get exposed in the playoffs where strategy really comes into play over the course of a long series. I think he has done a great job getting the team to the point they are at now, but I don't think he is the right coach for the next part of the journey once they become good. Perhaps he will get another year to develop the young players, but I'd give equal odds that Murray wants to hire the coach he want for the next part of the journey a year earlier than needed to give him time to grow with the players. I'd expect the Sabres to pursue Mike Babcock pretty strongly and would give them a good chance of landing him with Pegula's deep pockets and the collection of young talent we have coming up in the near future...
  2. Yes Tesla successfully accomplished this in Colorado but got funding pulled when his investors found out he planned on creating free energy for people by his methods. He also had a car that ran with no fuel but received energy from the "aethos"...actually drove this vehicle in Niagara Falls during his work on the power plant... Tesla was simply ingenious He didn't want it commercialized which is why funding was pulled and it was never finished
  3. Fermi/Webb must not have talked with any Nazi scientists who claim otherwise...and considering how they had technology the rest of the world didn't even know about it really makes you wonder...
  4. It might be the best sim game ever made...it's regularly played by MLB players(Curt Schilling is addicted) and even front office types and owners(Red Sox owner) who are all pretty amazed with the realism...
  5. Coyote fans don't even know what's going on...they in no way shape or form deserve either of those players Lol I forgot about Bogo
  6. They are but let's not forget Buffalo is a bad team and even teams like Carolina and Columbus are much better than us...Columbus is on a 9 game winning streak I would say that is an understatement...he dominated college hockey as a Freshman I expect us to become really good, really fast..playoffs within 2 years...moderate improvement next year, huge leap following year
  7. The fat lady hasn't started singing yet, but she is doing her mic check....
  8. He is a hard worker who isn't afraid to get his nose dirty but has some offensive upside... Has potential to be a 10-15 goal scorer on the 3rd line and play some good minutes for us...I like the kid
  9. With Arizona's 5-3 win a few moments ago, the Sabres simply need to lose one game in regulation and they clinch last place as they win the tie breaker with Arizona even if hey are tied. If Arizona wins one more game we clinch regardless of if we win out.
  10. Its a great game... EastSide Hockey Manager for Hockey(Franchise Hockey Manager is quite good as well tho) OOTP 16 for Baseball Football Manager 2015 for Soccer All are great GM/Coach management games
  11. YEAHH!!!! EMPTY NETTER FROM ARIZONA WITH 10 SECONDS LEFT 5-3!
  12. Arizona....please hold on for another 10:29...
  13. This happens in every sport and I don't see what the big deal is. If your team is bad, how else are you supposed get good?
  14. Nice job you jackwagons... Now with Toronto next in full give up mode, we could find ourselves only 2 points back of the Coyotes with 5 games left... Can't ever make things easy on ourselves... F@#$!!
  15. I remember watching the Sabres on WGRZ back when I was a little kid growing up and remember watching the random highlight from an old Sabre's game they would always play during one of the commercial breaks...its ingrained into my memories...
  16. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/29/sabres-gm-tim-murray-i-think-too-much-about-mcdavid/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs Guess we know who we are drafting if we get the #1 pick, lol
  17. I think we most of all appreciate GOOD players that are also hard working that end up getting us the result we want, aka wins.
  18. Sabres allow tons of shots, many of which aren't necessarily great chances just a result of the other team being in our zone a lot...this likely inflates our goaltender's numbers quite a bit... Wonder if GM's around the league will start looking at this and not believing our goalies are that good when trading for them in the future
  19. Thank goodness Arizona beat Detroit yesterday to give us a little breathing room even if we beat them tomorrow...that would have been a near disaster...having them close to within 1 point of us... As it stands, they can move clear of us by 7 points with a win against us in regulation, which would just about seal the deal in regards to us finishing in last...
  20. We face Arizona twice in the span of a few days. This will likely play a large role in determining who wins the McEichel sweepstakes... Best case scenario is we lost both in regulation, worst case scenario we win both in regulation. A split would preserve our 3 point cushion, A split with us winning our game in OT and us losing in regulation would extend our lead to 4 points...similarly a loss by us in OT and a win in regulation would reduce our lead to 2 points... Praying for the best case scenario in which it will pretty much be over, with Edmonton holding a 6 point lead and Arizona having a 7 point lead at that point...
