  1. Pegula and cheap should never be used in the same sentence. He has shown he is unafraid of spending whatever he needs to spend to get what he wants.
  2. WTF was Duncan Keith doing standing around instead of trying to get Perry out of the crease? Dude was literally on top of Crawford, lol...
  3. Now possible reports Sabres are offering a 10 year/$50 million contract...WOW!! Detroit was said to not be budging from $3.25 million, lol
  4. Reminds me a lot of Peter Forsberg...fast, big, strong, impossible to get of the puck, great forechecker, backchecker, defensive stickwork...point+ a game player... If he can be Forsberg like, we are in for a real treat...
  5. Did you see Eichel's assist on the second US goal against the Czechs? WOW!!! Have a feeling Jeanerette will be using the "roll the highlight film!" expression quite a bit with this kid...
  6. Love the song "Slapshot" played after Ranger goals...however, the all-time best goal song still goes to the now defunct Hartford Whalers and "Brass Bonanza"...remember loving when the Sabres played in Hartford growing up so I could hear the song after the Whalers scored....
  7. I have a feeling this "generational" talent thing gets bandied about far too frequently...wasn't the same said about Patrick Kane?
  8. You gotta freaking be kidding me!!!! How many times does Edmonton win?!?!?!?!?!?!
  9. Statistics suggest he might be...both played over 40 games and faced similar shot totals...Lack had a significantly better save percentage...Miller gave up 12 more goals while facing 3 fewer shots. Lack has played exactly one full season worth of games, 82 and has almost exactly the same numbers as Miller's career average, although slightly better... Lack .917 save percentage to Miller's .915 and 2.43 GAA to Miller's 2.59 Lack would cost a whole lot less also...
  10. Appears in nearly equal playing time this season, Lack had better stats, including a significant save percentage edge over Miller(.921 to .911). Looks like Miller might be starting to fade as age catches up with him
  11. A little surprising...perhaps Miller's meltdown in St. Louis last year in the playoffs weighed on Vancouver's coach...
  12. How does Anaheim still get a penalty even though replay showed a goal was scored and everything that happened after that is not supposed to count as evidenced by the clock being reset to the time of the goal?? That doesn't add up to me...so anything afterwards doesn't count, but a penalty committed afterwards does?
  13. We already knew Buffalo is the top US Hockey Market in the US....just wait for the playoffs No, and we will likely be the top market in the US other than the 2 teams playing for each series as well, and that isn't even including the people who choose to turn into the CBC feed, which I'm sure a lot of the do...
  14. Miss the playoffs one year and get bounced...pretty tough, unless there was more to it than that... Not sure I always agree with the quick trigger fingers some teams have...people are going to make mistakes, its not like they have been horrible since he's been there...they won a cup in 2011, were two games from winning another in 2013 and won the President's Trophy last year... You would think he would have some credit built up in the bank that a narrow playoff miss wouldn't fully withdraw...
  15. Who cares what happened in the past. What separates good leaders from bad ones is the bad ones try and hope things will change when things obviously aren't working. Pegula is not afraid to admit when something isnt working and pull the trigger. We are on the right path now and should see the fruits of our labor within a few years
  16. Ted was and is a good man...the type of guy you would be proud to have your daughter marry. Sucks things didn't work out here, but this is now the 3rd time he has had issues with management...perhaps he is too strong and vocal in sticking to his beliefs, and that rubs some the wrong way...not sure exactly what happened but perhaps it was just as Murray described...they were just OK...didn't have a like or dislike for each other, just wasn't a good fit. That stuff happens, it doesn't mean someone is to blame, it's just life...kind of like when you meet a woman...sometimes you click and sometimes you don't...
  17. Or for a week until we know who we will be drafting either 1st or 2nd
  18. I should hope so, he still lives here, lol
  19. Uhh...the Bills are building a team that will go to the playoffs? Yeah, why would anyone want to stockpile possibly the most talent on an NFL roster? Its sheer madness...
  20. From Buffalo News article today explaining what might have been the cause: " Nolan had difficulty putting together his coaching staff last summer, and failed to bring in a proven defensive-minded assistant to groom Buffalo's young core of defensemen, who struggled with consistency this season. Nolan also had a poor working relationship with general manager Tim Murray, as the two barely consulted this year." Nolan was pissed about some of the players he wanted being in Rochester and probably having a revolving door in goal most of the year...he knew what he was signing up for, but probably din't think it would be this bad...
  21. Why, because he is ultra competetive? I'll take that guy every time. You can have the dudes who are disinterested in playing the game and have other things to do.
  22. No way...he is going to want to prove he is better than McDavid and no way he can do that in college
  23. We need to be very vocal in showing the team we still love them...while I understand why people are openly cheering against them the last month, I'm sure it doesn't feel good... F Boston...almost worth the Pens winning just so they get bounced
  24. Why wouldn't a coach want to come to a place where he has a young team that is going to be exceptionally talented in a few years? Add that to the fact we are the hockey center of the US and Pegula has money to burn and isn't afraid to spend it, and I think I like our odds. As fans, we need to change the "Whoa is me" mindset we have had the last 30 years. I know it takes a while but those days are long gone for both the Sabres and the Bills.
