  1. The only positive is that there are only 79 games left and not 81 right now like there will be next year. And thankfully, the Bandits are only about 2 months away from starting their season so we can focus on something meaningful after the Bills season ends in late January or February.
  2. The Bright Side? Only 78 games and 1 period to go in the season. Also have the Bandits starting up in about 2 months to help dull the pain once the Bills are no longer playing in late January or February.
  3. That has ZERO percent to do with it. Effort/compete and talent have no correlation or dependency on each other. You can still play like you give a f**k even if you aren't necessarily good at it. Also, let's not pretend like this team doesn't have 2 elite players in Thompson and Dahlin who are plenty "good enough". It's hard to be this bad when you have two elite players along with enough supporting talent around them that seems to play well everywhere else.
  4. https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nhl/sabres/article_2e5fd32e-6e84-4bc0-9c55-ca43645375da.html I mean...no idea what to even say. After you get shutout at home to start the season, how in God's name do you think it's acceptable to have an even worse performance against the Bruins where you only get 1 shot on goal in the 1st period?? The more things change, the more they stay the same. A team who constantly thinks they are the only team in the NHL entitled to wins instead of having to go earn them.
  5. Forget watching on FUBO, Sabres games should be broadcast on FUBAR.
  6. How the F**K do you hurt yourself taking a goddamn faceoff? Is this guy made of balsa wood or something? In the history of this sport, how many people have been injured taking a draw without getting touched? This has to be one of the most fragile human beings to ever put on a pair of skates. The Tua of hockey.
  7. @Sabres73 Still think my comment was a "thumbs down" after watching that trash? Pretty sure 19K+ people in the building agreed with my assessment and plenty took my advice on the drinking.
  8. I'm already done with this team after 1 game. That was quick.
  9. TNT
  10. There are a lot of gluttons for punishment apparently. Or a lot of people planning on getting wasted.
  11. It's estimated that Brady gave up at least $60 million with some sources estimating it at over $100 million versus what he could have demanded with NE.
  12. It was intended as humorous based on the post I replied to.
  13. Oh I know one, much to the chagrin of Bills fans...Tom Brady. He gave way more than that away to give the team cap space and flexibility. Helps when you were married to a Supermodel making 2-3x what you are if not more every year tho...
  14. I mean why not just go to the time tested elixir for winning Stanley Cups? Fleece the Buffalo Sabres in trades to get their key players and put them over the top to win Stanley Cups? Worked pretty well for Saint Louis, Vegas and Florida over the last decade or so.
  15. This reminds me of a story.... "There once was a legendary hockey player, Connor McDavid, who was so good, he could practically teleport with the puck. Everybody in the NHL knew he was due for a new contract, and Everybody knew it would be a monster – enough to buy a small island or at least a fleet of Zambonis. Then, the rumors started: he signed for a mere $12.5 million a year! Everybody gasped, realizing that Somebody, a rival general manager, would surely have offered him significantly more. After all, Anybody with a pulse and a calculator could see McDavid was worth $17 million, $20 million, maybe even a blank check written on the back of a playoff banner. But here's the kicker: Nobody actually did. Not a single GM from the other 31 teams picked up the phone to whisper, "Hey Connor, we'll give you all the money." Somebody in the media got angry about it. "This is preposterous!" they declared, waving their arms wildly. "Everybody knew he was worth more! Anybody could have made a better offer!" Everybody then scratched their heads. "Well, yes," they agreed, "Anybody could have. But why did Nobody offer it?" It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody for not making a higher offer, while Nobody actually explained why McDavid, the best player in the world, signed for what most considered a laughable bargain. The moral of the story? Apparently, when it comes to Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, sometimes the most illogical decision makes perfect sense. Or perhaps, when the best player in the world says he wants to win, he really means it – even if it means leaving enough money on the table to buy a small fleet of slightly used Zambonis."
  16. How does he not demand $20 mil a year if the dude from Minnesota is getting $17??
  17. I disagree...he is a force on the penalty kill and also does a lot of dirty work in the offensive zone.
  18. this team can't ever start a season healthy...just is crazy.
  19. Can we agree to only start threads on Greenway, Norris and Samuelsson to announce they are healthy rather than injured? I feel like that would be a more productive thread, since saying they are injured again is almost obvious at this point.
  20. They should be playing Red Alert after the other team scores. "Red Alert! Red Alert! It's a catastrophe! But don't worry! Don't Panic! Ain't nothing goin' on but history! But it's alright! Don't panic! And the losing keeps on going on and on..."
  21. I bet Christian could take him in a fight.
