Teachers usually have to still show up when schools are closed only for temperature reasons.

Agreed. We're a bad team playing a good team. I don't see the need to psychoanalyze this.

I forgot to set my fantasy lineup, and I have Niederreiter on my bench :(
-
Yup. Because he's bad.
-
Well done.

For whatever it's worth, I'm much more interested in a Domi for Reinhart change of scenery trade than one involving Duclair.

My completely off the cuff assessment is you can have one average skater per line and be completely fine. Having 2+ is going to cause problems with some matchups though.

IMO we should start a gofundme so Flagg can drop out of school, never work, and just make awesome hockey posts.
-
No, he will not. He's abysmal even from a clean pocket.

Tyrod is a lot better than Bortles. Bortles is easily a bottom-5 starter.

The Jags are very beatable.

Lehner: Mediocre or the Goalie of the Future?

Cam Ward? I'm confused. Are we tanking next season? That guy hasn't given a starter-caliber performance over a season in about a decade. -
Lehner: Mediocre or the Goalie of the Future?

For sure. Of course, they can also get much worse production while seeking the bargain. I think stability is worth paying for above the strict performance value of a goaltender because nothing can sink a team's season like bad goaltending. There's an upper threshold to be sure, and Lehner may push above that, but we have to consider the possibility that we end up shooting ourselves in the foot in the pursuit of better value. -
Nice. I'm stealing this.

I got the impression Woody couldn't do it because of negative service reviews, not political correctness. Not that that's a good thing, but it is different. And yea, some people have a tendency to knee-jerk judgments instead of politely correcting, and it doesn't help. On the flip side, there are people who flip out at polite corrections (I'm remembering more than a few JJ conversations here...). Edit: In any event, Woody is being prevented from doing his job effectively. That's a problem. Most objections to language changes, however, don't face that issue. Most blowback is...I'll be nice and say less legitimate.

I'd imagine being married to you does accelerate the aging process a wee bit :p

There's a small part of you that thinks he's Carey Price? Seek help. Immediately. :p -
Lehner: Mediocre or the Goalie of the Future?

For me it's not even hoping to upgrade as much as it is hoping to get similar play for half the cost. I definitely think there's a style bias. People have conceptions of how certain things are supposed to look. But eventually the stopping of the puck should override that. -
I don't get the Darnold hype either. His fundamentals remind me of Blake Bortles.
-
I still think he made some subpar choices. He got more than a little lucky Tallon thought 2/3 of a top line was a good price to pay to protect Bjugstad.
-
I think Vegas is over performing their talent some, but they're for real this year. Their underlying numbers are good, too. There's nothing suggesting this team is going to crash and burn. Frankly, Dale Tallon should win GM of the year for his work in Vegas. What's that? He works for Florida? Oh....

I expect a 1st, a good (but not great) prospect, and a mediocre prospect. Might get a little sweetener like a 4th added in if the market is really hot, but I can't say I expect it.

Thing is, that stuff manifests itself statistically. Someone who is bad at 4/5 goalie traits wouldn't be able to put up league average numbers among starters. -
That right there is a dramatically different issue than the use of inclusive language.
