  1. He's regressed, sort of like how the Leafs have regressed from 8th in the East last season to...5th this season. ;)
  2. The next time I spell "relevant" correctly on the first try... will be the first. I have a serious mental block where I always type "relavent."
  3. Hmm. Think my supervisors would buy this as an argument to drink on the job?
  4. Ah, what the hell: Vegas. I'm not sure I actually believe this, but that's a team that might look to capitalize on unexpected success. Plus, the jokes would be fun. Also, I can always hope McPhee gifts us Erat-Forsberg 2.0.
  5. I legitimately can't think of a Montreal deal for O'Reilly that interests me. Relatedly, Montreal is the perfect cautionary take for pretending we know what's going on in a locker room, and/or for putting too much emphasis. It wasn't too long ago that Subban wasn't a good enough leader and his attitude was a problem, and Shea "super captain" Weber was supposed to swoop in and get the locker room in order, resulting in more winning. Yea, about that...
  6. Can play? Yes. Can play as effectively? No. The decline point for goalies is certainly later than for forwards, but I'm pretty sure (without looking it up) the cliff is 34. Price is good enough that he can decline and still be a good starter, but for $10.5 million, you need to be more than good.
  7. I don't think the "for at least five years" is even remotely true. Hell, I'm not even sure he's clearly the best right now. Maybe a distinction without a difference, but I was looking the other direction: Hanifan is closer to Guhle than draft status would suggest. I've read a ton (of bad) about Hanifin's development.
  8. I have a really hard time believing Botterill would go to the trouble of protecting Ullmark only to go ahead and use our best non-Eichel asset to acquire a 31 year old goalie about to start a crippling contract. There's an argument for the first, but we get completely smoked on that second deal.
  9. Fair 'nuff. I took you to be talking more about the Sabres' situation in particular. Well, it'd certainly be one way to get another look at him there. A bad way, in my view, but a way nonetheless.
  10. I have no idea what Iroquois beer is. Feel free to shame me.
  11. They're also a hindrance if they make you a one-line team. If O'Reilly is moved and Mittelstadt is playing on Eichel's wing, who in the world is centering our second best line?
  12. Okposo kind of remind me of Vanek. His top speed is fine, but zilch for quickness.
  13. Through this lens, literally everything is terrible and we should actually bomb the arena. Conversations about both ROR and Kane are veering dangerously close to where Leafs fans and media were at with Kessel: blaming the team on a single player and manufacturing all kinds of highly questionable justifications for why it's true.
  14. Yea, I honestly cannot remember a single story that Harrington broke. If we trade him for any Carolina defender not named Slavin, I think I'll microwave the first baby I come across.
  15. They got worse after O'Reilly was traded. Sorry to rain on your trolling. Bigger mistake: Murray passing on Sergachev, or Bergevin trading him?
  16. From what I've read, Hanifin has been seriously struggling. A Reinhart-Hanifin swap remains intriguing to me. To be fair, Kessel is/was also straight up better than Kane, signed long term, and the Leafs retained salary.
  17. I'm all-in on the Vikings.
  18. Can the Patriots get any luckier? Their path to the Super Bowl goes through Tennessee and Jacksonville? Unreal.
  19. So it's your fault he keeps missing the net on the PP? :p
  20. Dimitri Filipovic‏Verified account @DimFilipovic 6m6 minutes ago More This is what happens when you put a really good player on a really bad team. More than 1 out of every 3 goals the Sabres have scored this year have either been scored by Jack Eichel or directly assisted by him. Currently #1 in the league on this metric.
  21. JJ Zachariason‏Verified account @LateRoundQB 16m16 minutes ago More Buffalo Bills yards per play over the last three years: 2015: 5.7 (9th) 2016: 5.6 (14th) 2017: 4.8 (27th) #Dennison
