  1. Same. I hope I'm wrong, but I think bad (see also: real) Nick Foles shows up tonight. I think he tosses a few picks and the Pats run away with it.
  2. That's a good point. I hereby reject any Kane trade where the return is hot dogs.
  3. Does anyone really expect the return for Kane to be good? I've seen a few people say it won't be as good as fans are expecting...but at least around here, I've taken "less than stellar" as the operating assumption for most. Regardless of what Botterill's initial ask is, I don't think anyone is actually expecting it to be the return.
  4. Isn't that the truth. Furthermore, what's kind of getting lost in all of this...allow me to glance at the roster for a moment....is that we need forwards too. Edmonton's, and our, problem, is not that we drafted based on scouting...it's that the scouting was wrong. The players haven't been good (or in some cases, good enough relative to the alternatives).
  5. I, for one, misplace my white Armani suits all the time with no memory of where they may be! And that is most definitely true.
  6. What, you think holding a dude while he gets stabbed to death is a big deal?
  7. USA hockey doesn't exactly have a terrific history of selecting the best Olympic team possible. Leaving Phil Kessel home 4 years ago being the most recent example.
  8. Is he hurt or a healthy scratch? If the latter, I fundamentally don't understand his continued presence.
  9. If Alex was playing like Willie did after getting drafted, I really don't think there would be much lamentation about him not being a defenseman or a pure goal scorer. Put differently, we're more mad that Alex looks like he could be headed towards pure busthood than we are about what position he plays, or the style in which he plays it.
  10. Like most everyone, I also hate fights/scrums after a clean hit. That said, I will offer a defense of the players: they often times don't have the luxury of knowing, in the moment, the nature of a hit. They see their teammate laying on the ice and react.
  11. I just find it odd that you so intensely push back against the notion that there's any kind of implicit bias involving the Patriots, but have no issue believing in a deliberate league-driven effort to force referees to officiate certain players differently.
  12. Well, another issue is that home teams get calls (Football Outsiders, I believe, has done fairly extensive analysis on this), and the Patriots are usually the home team in the playoffs. Do you have a similar article supporting your top-down NBA officiating conspiracy? Or nah?
  13. Correct. Not even Dan Snyder is that... Okay, so he is that stupid. But I don't think he does it.
  14. I dunno, that defense fell off hard last year. I'd have to be convinced they're a clearly better landing spot.
  15. I went from laughing to crying pretty quickly. I hate you.
  16. This is what can happen when an all-world goalie carries a team to consistent success. The GM gets a longer rope than he deserves.
  17. Other receivers sucking really doesn't excuse trading up for a receiver who also sucks.
  18. Vegas is so weird to analyze. Basically their entire team, individually, is having a career season. Yet, the team-level stats don't have any flashing neon signs pointing to a cliff they're going to fall off of. I think there's likely to be some regression (be it this year or next), but I don't think they're poised to totally crash like the Avs and Flames of recent past.
  19. While we all rightfully love Tre White, it remains to be seen whether this was the optimal call. We passed on Lattimore, who looked like Revis in his prime, and we might have to give up considerable assets to move up for a QB who may never be as good as Watson. He also thought trading up for Zay Jones was a good idea. Injury and all, I hate me some Zay Jones
  20. Yup. Luckily McDermott has given us every reason to believe in his judgment on these matters, what with the Tolbert and Peterson decisions.
  21. If I remembered how to ignore posters I'd be complaining that you keep circumventing it by quoting he/she/it. Please go back to arguing with Liger :p
