Of course, MTL could blow us out of the water with a #9 + trade, in which case TM probably wouldn't mind since he didn't want to give up that much anyways.
-
I think we have the power over MTL in this one. If ANA is going to settle for #9, they can do it in between the 8th and 9th picks at the draft tonight.
-
I disagree. He could not want to part with #8 and still do it. He has until we make the pick tonight to think about it.
-
I'm going to be staying up until ~2 am Czech time to see who we pick. Maybe Murray trades the pick before then and I can go to sleep.

Free money without having to work? The next 10 bets he had in mind bankrolled? This might be the first time Vanek ever smiles.

OT - The 2016 "What the heck are kids saying" language thread

You don't like tryna? What about hafta and gonna? I've always been a proponent of spelling things the way we say them, especially when it comes to combinations of words. -
If only I could divorce QT's work from QT the person. What a racist, sexist in love with himself. And it definitely doesn't help that Hateful 8 was bad. By far the worst thing he's ever worked on.
-
I didn't actually think they'd go through with it. WTF is wrong with that country? Leaving the EU is not a plan, it's flailing around being a group of racist pillocks. I'm embarrassed that Trump actually got the nomination, but there is no doubt in my mind that Hillary will win. Turns out the British just want to make us look smarter by comparison.

Reservior Dogs is an excellent movie. It's so focused and visceral. The plot is simple, straightforward, and executed to perfection. Pulp Fiction has no focused central plot. It's exclusively all the action and fallout of 3 or 4 different plots all coming to a head at once and colliding with one another. The movie manages to give the littlest possible information in about 3 hours. Everyone gets amazingly lucky at one point, and then has some sort of crazy horrifying situation inflicted on them shortly after. What a stroke of genius. What a masterpiece of a film. I think about the shot of Butch walking back to his apartment all the time. Tarantino is pure style, which turns out to be one the most (if not THE most) important aspects of film making. So. Good.

I would trade a 3rd and a 5th for Yakupov. Why not? If he never properly learned english I'd have traded a 2nd for him.

I thought the Lebonr hate from Drunkard was funny originally. Now it's just creepy and sad.

Let's pretend that I didn't actually believe Stamkos was already a Sabre. O'Reilly, Eichel, and Samson are still the forwards to build around. Trading Kane + 8 (+perhaps more) for elite help on D makes our team better now and in the future, I believe. The forward ranks can be balanced with other trades.
-
Well that's, just like, your opinion man.

Steven Stamkos stays in Tampa Bay, 8.5mil x 8yrs

Upgrading that to I definitely would. You hafta give up something to get something. I think trading Kane now leaves a huge hole in our forward ranks (which would be somewhat mitigated if we sign Vesey and IF he lives up to the billing of a good power forward), but would be definitely worth it for the long term benefit of having Risto and Lindholm anchoring our D for the next 5 years. Kane is the least important of our talented forwards. O'Reilly, Eichel, Samson, and Stamkos are the important ones. (All this said, I agree the Ducks ain't moving Lindholm)
-
I think I would.
-
This seems maybe fair for Lindholm. What do you guys think?

You know how good. -
2 years ago, I would've agreed, but now he'd likely be playing on our 4th line. He's 35 and doesn't have much left in the tank.

In other news: ice is slippery, tape is sticky, and my sources are telling me that Jack Eichel is "Good at hockey." -
Fowler is a more than adequate partner for Risto. I think Risto will keep improving and Fowler will mostly be riding shotgun, which is worlds better than Gorges. I don't know if they're going to be our #1 pair when we're contending for a cup, but I wouldn't rule it out completely.

My gramma passed about a week and a half ago. My mom said that it was very peaceful and she seemed ready to go. I'm sad that she's gone, but it really must've been sweet release after being trapped in her own demented mind for so long. She was never a particularly happy lady, but sometimes I could tell that she was aware and frustrated with her lack of ability to complete the circuits in her head. I'm happy that my mom is free of the burden. She's 63 and deserves some rest and relaxation in her life. If only I believed that she knew how to relax. It's going to be really strange to come home to an empty basement.

23 year old center prospect (Grimaldi- 52 GP 16 G 17 A in the AHL last year) for 29 year old back up goaltender. No wonder I've never heard of these guys.
