You should've loudly, impolitely pointed and cackled like a witch until he left earshot.

Bwahahaha. Boston is really a city full of . I don't even mean it in a totally negative way, as strange as that sounds. A couple of my very close friends are born and bred Bostonians, and when I visit and meet their friends it's so strange. They love fighting and ripping on one another to a fault. When I was there in January we left a bar after last call and 4-5 of the guys we were with got into a huge playfight right outside the door. I thought we were gonna get the cops called on us. When I asked one of my friends about it he said "That went really well, actually. Usually somebody gets pissed and it turns into a real fight." These were some bright young men, too. So you can guess how the common Bostonite probably compares. The bully attitude of the hockey team absolutely reflects the people of the city. I always used to say that in half-jest, but now I believe it to be completely true. And it cost them a shot at Vesey. Hehehehehe

Shattenkirk is no slouch in the defensive zone. He's nothing particularly special, but absolutely solid enough to play the top pair.

Yup, Vesey is a LW and Reinhart is a center, er, I mean RW.

Steven Stamkos stays in Tampa Bay, 8.5mil x 8yrs
qwksndmonster replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I think Kane is the most obvious casualty when considering our cap structure a few years down the road, but for the next two seasons we desperately need his speed and grit. I'm confident that by the time his contract is up we'll have a prospect or two ready to step into his role. -

I hear you Thorny, but lots of snipers like to play on their off-wings. Vanek and Neal come readily to mind. -
By that logic, it'll be fine when Vesey doesn't sign and TM flips his rights for a 5th and drafts Hasek II with the pick.
-
I think we live in the specific universe where Vesey never plays an NHL game because he finally gets a break in his true field of passion: modern dance. He'll be stealing headlines from the Rangers and Isles for years with his electric performances on and off Broadway.

This was my thinking as well because Stamkos likes playing on the left side on the PP. But his regular shift spot may very well be on the RW side of he's not at center, who knows. -

Which actually makes total sense. Girgensons, Foligno, and Ennis could all be pieces that help fetch a D-man. -

My hard cap for Stamkos is 10.5 I hope 10 can get it done, but I'm not optimistic. My long term lines: Vesey-Eichel-O'Reilly Stamkos-Samson-Ennis Kane-Larsson-Girgensons Foligno-xxx-Gionta Spares: Deslauriers, Moulson I'm pretty sure O'Reilly and Ennis are both LWs, but that's the best I could do with our LW overload. You can have Stamkos play center until Sam is ready to take over there. It seems like TM would have to make another move or two to balance out the forward ranks if Vesey and Stamkos are signed. -
My girlfriend was just in Croatia before I got over here and hasn't stopped talking about it. You can't go wrong with either of those options.

'Twas a joke. My parents got divorced when I was 5 and we celebrated X-mas in both households after that. My dad is jewish (and by extension I sort of am?) but it's a lot more of a cultural thing than a religious one. Now that I've explained the joke thoroughly: LAUGH DAMMIT

I like this post a lot. Even pessimistic losers like Claude think it's a good move, despite the fact that we gave up more than anybody else ever has for negotiating rights. (I've said it twice without fact checking, that makes it a message board fact) Oh, and Claude: <3

I didn't get to watch the finals, but I'm so happy for Cleveland. yes! Our brothers in misery got one, and LeBron completes his redemption arc. awesome. Party on, Cleveland.

I'm in Innsbruck, Austria right now. I keep looking up at the mountains in amazement and saying aloud "What the . People actually get to live here?" Life goal. It's gonna happen.

Awesome, because two christmases? Yeah, my dad isn't a very good jew.

Nic Deslauriers - Signs 2yr Contract Extension
qwksndmonster replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Nice numbers. -
It's almost insidious that Jack is on the same summer league team as Vesey. How could anybody watch Jack skate regularly and NOT want to be his full time winger? Especially when the team has spent a 3rd rounder on your rights. I don't think I've ever seen negotiating rights go for higher than a 5th before.

Another good post (meaning that it agrees with my stance):

Nic Deslauriers - Signs 2yr Contract Extension
qwksndmonster replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
As long as I don't ever have to watch him on the 1st line again. I love the kid, but that was enough to make me a bit sick of him. He's a good 4th liner. And a nice depth option on D if somebody goes down. -
I think Samson is such a natural center that it hurts my soul to consider him as a winger long term. He's a good winger, but he could be special at center. I don't think he has the speed, size, or shot to be a great winger. But if he's the one at center ice distributing the puck, he could be elite. I'd move ROR to wing. He proved to be just as effective there when he played with MacKinnon. We wouldn't be getting any less out of him from the wing, he could even take center responsibilities in the defensive zone if necessary. My argument is basically dudacek copypasta, so hear it from the man himself:

I created a new thread for the Sam talk. Sorry for the derail.
