I googled it. You have to go into chrome settings, privacy control, content setting, and then notifications....talk about a rabbit hole. -

Off topic but does anyone know how to turn off Sabre Space browser notifications (I'm using chrome), I've somehow activated them by accident and they're driving me bonkers. I've gone into the notification settings and I see a green check box saying browser notifications are on but don't have the option to disable it. It's annoying to get pop ups saying so & so have responded to x. -

If those 3 don't play tonight do Ellie, Thompson and a Rochester call-up play? Wonder who'd get the nod. I'm guessing that all 3 won't miss the game. I wonder if Eichel has been fighting something? Feels like he hasn't scored in a few weeks. -

IF (never would happen) but if Edmonton put McDavid on the market, the return would be insane for him (players, picks, prospects) think the O'Reilly trade but on steroids. I imagine a blockbuster trade with him would have 3 or more teams involved, pretty much the biggest trade in the history of the NHL? I'd argue that Edmonton would be a stronger team with the return from McDavid, having better talent up & down their line-up making the team more competitive. Right now Edmonton is the McDavid show and that's why they still suck, because hockey is a team game and one player can't do it all. Yeah, O'Reilly is lighting it up in St. Louis, the few periods I've watched of them he's been noticeable, but that team is in the basement right now (and i hope it stays there). Moving him was a focus of JB this summer and he has an actual pulse on the locker room opposed to the hearsay that runs rampant here. There was a reason he was moved and that's what makes me believe in addition by subtraction. In my eyes, right now the trade is a wash and the balance hangs on what happens with that first round pick. Time shall tell. There were also concerns of Sobokta at 2C that are valid and unfortunately that's waiting game for when Mittlesatd is ready, which will take a year or so. -

Great win last night. I had hockey so I missed most of it and loved what I saw from the extended highlights...minus Scandella, hopefully he can put this one behind him and be better moving forward. I know its EARLY, but, is St. Louis' pick lottery protected? Because that's looking pretty, pretty good right now. -

I agree. Send him down to Rochester and put him on a wing opposite Nylander and tell them to make it work there so they can make it work in Buffalo. Does the team NEED to have 23 on the roster? When is Scott Wilson due back? edit: i googled it, he broke he needed ankle surgery and is expected to be out 8-10 weeks, so sometime in December. -

The feeling deep in my plums tells me Casey gets a goal tonight. I'm also hoping to see some more consistent offensive magic from Dahlin but I understand I need to be patient on him. Can the Sabres make it 3 in a row? In the past the team lacked the gumption to play consistent hockey for multiple games, is this team different? Will Housley dropping F-Bombs in practice motivate them to find that next gear and actually show up in the first period? I'm shocked the Canadian have gotten off to such a hot start, all the Canadian teams for that matter are exceeding where I thought they'd be (save Edmonton, losers). I thought Van, Ott, and Mon would be licking the floor of the basement but ~1/8th of the season in and that's not the case. -
I recall a time we felt giddy with O'Reilly - Eichel - Reinhart - X as our center depth.

That was a great game to watch last night. Right before Anaheim's 2nd goal when we had that insane shift of sustained possession in their zone I thought to myself "please don't give up a goal on a rush right after this" and then that happened and I was dejected. Was ecstatic to see them rebound with two quick goals after that to tie it up. re: Mittlestadt being sent to the A, I don't see it happening. He was just "promoted" to the PP1 unit, to me that's a tell that he's here to stay for the time being. Tage, on the other hand, he's not going to learn anything being the extra forward so I'd expect to see him sent down. The question there is does anyone get called up to replace him or do they keep 22 players on the current roster?

I get to watch today and so far the only games I've been able to sit down and watch live have been Boston, Colorado, the away Vegas game and San Jose...my hopes are not high. Can they win two in a row? Can they compete with a top-tier team in this league? Can they play a close game? Is secondary scoring something other than whispered myth? The conditions are ripe to see a Miller Shutout on display, which I'd loosely define as a goalie who plays a strong game to let in his 1st goal with less than 5 minutes in regulation on a goal that could be considered a "softie".

I know it's confirmation bias, but every time I read a game preview of a Sabres opponent about how X team is struggling on the power play or X player is on a cold streak, it ALWAYS feels like their woes are instantly solved once they face off against the Sabres. -

I've never been able to watch recorded sports. The live aspect of the broadcast is the most exciting thing for me. Once the results are set in stone I find I can't focus on a game once I know the outcome. Anyways, Go Sabres. -

Part of me loves these late games, let's me get the day wrapped up and then cuddle up in bed with the Sabres...if it's entertaining I stay up, if they put me to sleep they put me to sleep. Hoping to see some sort of secondary scoring tonight, or primary, I'll take whatever I can get. -

I certainly hope Berglund can get it together, isn't he under contract for the next 4 years? -
From the verbal lashing delivered by Phil, no doubt.

Anyone know how Olofsson is looking defensively? If he keeps his pace how long will it be before he gets a call up?

My favorite part of these lines are Larsson and Girgensons as the extra skaters. Also love the theory of Casey and Skinner together. Aside from the Erod -> Pommers goal I don't think we've had any offense outside of the top line. We need even strength scoring, and the PP to not go 0-7, and the penalty kill to suck. Hopefully Phil is bag-skating these chumps.

Berglund, Sobotka and Thompson are upgrades over Pouliot, Nolan, Baptiste, Griffith, Josephson, etc.. No, none of them are better than ROR but the addition of upgraded talent throughout the bottom of the roster helps more than having ROR in the line-up without them, attempting to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders.
