  1. Adams has stated time and time again that he's always in contact with other GMs doing his due diligence. Aside from the Eichel trade where he was holding all of the chips, he's been very gunshy about trades, usually getting what I feel is less than market value for the picks or players he's brining in, but those other trades are all peanuts compared to the Eichel trade. I wonder what a fair trade would look like? Zegras is a center and there's no way Adams is moving Tage or Cozens given their contracts. Mitts had similar stats last year (6 fewer points) and is two years older. Casey + non-top shelf Prospect? Casey and VO? I don't think I'd want to pay what the Ducks would be asking.
  2. These mid-tier prospects are really going to have to work their ***** off to get the jump on the Savoie, Benson, Kulich, Rosen, and Ostlunds ahead of them. GMKA's next big challenge is going to be figuring out which prospects to keep and which ones to trade away/give them an opportunity with another club.
  3. I hope everyone on this board one day finds someone to feel about them the way liger feels about Novikov.
  4. By my count the Sabres are 2-0. Anyone know the breakdown for the other 5 teams in the tournament?
  5. It'll be nice to a physical D man whose not afraid to hit in our top-4. I like that he pushes joki to the 3rd pair. He doesn't need to be fancy or flashy, that'll be Powers job.
  6. I hope we get to see at least one preseason game with Krebs centering Savoie & Benson.
  7. I chose A but what I really wanted to pick was a combination of A & C. I view his signing as a "replacing what Anderson brought to the team" style move. You didn't sign him for the state of his on ice play.
  8. Really can't wait for the Sabres season to start after that one...
  9. Will he be in the prospect tournament?
  10. Losing the Bills would be worse for the city than losing the Sabres. That being said, if I had to choose I'm picking the Sabres. Sports are entertainment after all and if I had to choose to be entertained 17 times a year vs 82 I'm picking 82.
  11. This essentially washes out us going 0-15 on nationally televised games - unless we have some overlap between the two.
  12. I think we'll see more consistency to his game with less roughness around the edges. I'm not expecting a "breakthrough" year, that comes in one more season.
  13. I've been saying for years that as long as Bryson is on the team we will not be a playoff caliber team. He should only be called up if injuries start to mount.
  14. Reading this thread makes me happy seeing that Jokijarju is now a 3rd paining defensemen. I feel more comfortable having him have to slot up in the top two pairings in the event of injury instead of Boosh.
  15. I'll always remember his OT goal vs Tampa and Razors ensuing reaction. We had a crowded blue line and this feels like Adam trying to do right with him knowing he wasn't in the plans. Also a bit of a cap dump? Wasn't he making around $4M?
  16. If i were GM for a day I probably wouldn't make any trades, because from listening to GMKA it sounds like trades take time to reach the finish line and I feel like I wouldn't get anything accomplished. Instead, I'd probably head down to the Sabres Store and grab as much ***** as I could carry. I'd then ask the ice crew to cut the ice and then host a scrimmage and spend most of the day playing hockey. I'd wrap the day up by planting a few hidden microphones throughout the GM's office and locker rooms so we could listen in on the actual trades GMKA will be working on in the future.
  17. RIP RJ. Nobody else ever did it like you. I wish we could have got you to the playoffs one more time.
  18. Eventually something will have to give and the GM will need to make a decision to move some of these forward prospects. In the past 3 drafts we've selected 8 Forwards in rounds 1 or 2. That's a massive amount of talent that will be competing to make the roster and we already have the following players locked up through 25-26: Skinner, Thompson, Cozens, and Tuch. I'm also expecting extensions for Quinn, Peterka, Krebs and maybe Mitts. That leaves 4-5 roster spots open solely for our forward prospects and that doesn't account for acquiring players via trade or signings, or later round prospects who might make a developmental leap. Assuming we have long term extensions for Dahlin and Power, along with Muel we'll have half of our defense locked down long term. I'd imagine we'll see some forward prospects shipped out to bring in solid defensive help. The best part is with Dahlin and Power, we don't need to get any splashy high octane D-men, we really just need the non-sexy guys who can play solid shut down roles. It's a crowded bus and that's a great problem to have. 2023: 1. Benson #13 2. Walberg #39 2022: 3. Savoie #9 4. Östlund #16 5. Kulich #28 2021: 6. Rosen #14 7. Poltapov #33 8. Kisakov #53
  19. I randomly decided to put together a last minute road trip at the end of August, two nights in the 1000 Islands and then two nights in Ottawa. Do you have any other recommendations in Ottawa?
  20. Less than 2 months for some hockey stuff to look at!
