I'd have to find the article, but I am seeing other reports that say they did not. It appears they knew there was a video and they asked the police for it but were never given the video. So, now the video is out. How is it that this guy was not charged given the evidence? It's all around a really bad situation. I am still tired of hearing of this crap in the NFL.

New York State Gun Bill - WIVB Report
LTS replied to SABRES 0311's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
The entire concept is farcical. If it passes I will move from this state even if it means I must get a divorce. That said, were I in the situation where they asked me to turn over my social media account information I would simply say that I do not have a social media accounts. How are they going to prove that I do? What department will be in charge of investigating and proving it? -
President Bush (Sr.) Passed Away

I don't have much to add. 94 is a long time to live. I'll leave it at that. -
Is it good for the Chiefs? The article I read this morning said that the NFL and Chiefs had seen the tape and knew what happened. If this continues to be accurate I don't know how anyone can support the NFL in any way. They allow an abuser to continue to earn his paycheck in the name of the almighty dollar. If you continue to support the NFL then you, too, are saying their policies on this are okay and that you support their decision making to put the needs of their bottom line above the needs of a victim of abuse. I'm so tired of hearing about it, especially with the NFL.

This is not good logic. His value and draft rank is determined by the team that must select him and their perception of his talent and fit to their team relative to the rest of the draft field. Reinhart would not have been the 2nd overall pick if he was drafted 1 year later or 1 year earlier.

It's not just politics. It's a microcosm of the Internet and perhaps even the trend that real life is heading.

When you manage something there are behaviors you let slide because most of the time you don't really consider it to be worth the effort to try and address. Every so often, a person will point out that those behaviors are a concern. It's at that point you have to make a decision, do I act upon that concern knowing that I had the same concern already or do I tell that person to get lost? SDS chose to act upon it. Your continued tirade about it is exactly why it probably was not addressed in the past. Overall, as I see it, SDS made a request of the membership. You can choose to honor it or not. In his opinion it was time to take an action and he took it. I think he addressed it fairly well and tried to provide substance. He's trying to apply what he considers a REASONABLE control. You are the one who keeps bringing up the other stuff. Perhaps SDS will choose to act upon it now that you've made a request of it. You never know!

Like hot dogs.

No, I can read just fine. I read what SDS posted. I read the request, I read the reason, I understood the reason and I had no problem with it. I'm not the one who has to put the effort into making this place run. I don't get the complaints that the moderators get. I'm not so bothered by it that I can't handle a simple request. If you don't want to abide by it, don't. Whatever.

Wow. You are going out of your way here. The request was to stop bypassing the filter, not to stop swearing. You can use all the words you'd like that get caught in the filter, that's why it's there. If you bypass it you are just being a jerk about trying to get around the filters that SDS has in place already. For the record sabrespace.net, sabrespace.club and more are available now for your purchase.

Short on time... Thanks to those in the crowd last night for making the game fun to listen to on the radio as I drove home with my son from his back to back hockey practices. Got home just after the Risto goal. This team is having FUN, they are relaxed and playing determined hockey. Seeing Dahlin's reaction to Risto's goal was amazing. He's a already a top tier defender in the league but moments like that remind you that he's 18 and also going through his "fan" stage at the same time. Props to RJ. The "you wanted it, here it is.. these guys are good, scary good". Man.... And finally, Brian Duff... please don't ever get rid of Brian Duff. Between barely being able to talk because of smiling to hard from the win to not being able to talk because of his recounting the cancer stories... he's awesome. Let's Go Buffalo.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch

Did you start from the beginning? I had a friend tell me start with Season 3 when it came out. I did that.. I have gone back to watch some of the others from the beginning. I'm not totally sold that Season 3 is crazier, but there's some messed up stuff. I love the show though. It's right up my alley. It's a technology driven Twilight Zone. -
So I mistakenly bought the ground version of peet's holiday blend. A mistake that I can live with. What I realized however (as I was measuring out that coffee) is that my burr grinder was no longer properly grinding the right amount of beans in the coffee I usually drink. It had been short by about 40% of the proper weight. So, I've been drinking this weaker coffee for quite some time. The good news is that the coffee still tasted pretty good. The better news is that now I have fixed the problem and the coffee tastes even better.

Love Cilantro.. I suppose I would not know what I was missing if it had tasted like soap to me. However, it does not, and I love it.

I hope he does honestly. It's sad he's in Toronto but you have to have respect for the guy.

it should work in a press. I would give it 24 hours in the fridge to get the best out of it. 12 hours is doable.

Are Your Expectations for this Season Changing?
LTS replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I don't see this team as a deep playoff run contender but they are starting to make me think that they have a really solid shot at being in the playoffs this season. That said, I still think they are due some hardship this season. They are a young team. I'd love to be wrong. -
I've never tried heating cold brewed coffee but your question piqued my interest so I did a quick search. There appears to be supporting evidence that you can heat up cold brew. You probably won't want to microwave it but perhaps putting it over a heat source. I would imagine that will change the taste simply because of the impact heat has on flavor compounds. I don't think it will get more acidic as the acid was never extracted from the bean. I could be wrong. I recall having read an article at one point in time about there being a break point where certain compounds in coffee would be altered as it passed that temperature point. This was in reference to chilling hot coffee. I can't find any reference to it now. The gist was, don't do it. It would impart off flavors. As for storage, the biggest danger is oxidation. If you have a full container that is sealed will it will likely last a few days to a week. Some people talk about leaving it longer but you never know what their taste buds tell them is "still okay". I never make a massive amount of cold brew so its gone within days. When I do the keg it will have a layer of Co2 on it so that should help preserve it.
