  1. Yes! Mitts with an A... great start
  2. HOLY... Welcome back!
  3. People posting in seemingly every thread about ROR incessantly? People turning so many threads into a whine about Sobotka? People coming here to claim how much they hate this team but are still going to watch it? Trying to understand TRpm? ? Having more than 1 favorite team based on geography? ? Coming here every day despite all the negativity? Okay... enough. I'm far too busy with work stuff, but I stopped in. The division this team plays in will make it tough for them to succeed. It's the best division in hockey, without a doubt. They are young and despite years of losing, things are going to be tough again. I don't care. I love hockey. I'm a Sabres fan. Win or lose, I will be a fan. I hate losing, I love winning. I have no control over the outcome of this team. Life is slightly better when they win and it's only worse when they lose because it would be better if they won. I am only in control of me. I choose to root for the team. Win or lose. I might be louder when they win, but I am there when they lose. Enjoy the night, whatever it may bring. Be happy that you are here to even watch the game in the first place. Not everyone will have that opportunity. Go Sabres. I SAID... GO SABRES!!
  4. Undefeated.
  5. Maybe. After all RK doesn't know, no reason we should know. I mean, they fired Housley, so perhaps he was telling them to make bad passes. Albeit, perhaps not directly. ?
  6. Yeah... I just resolved a bit of the problem. but didn't drop a RW... gotta figure out which one to drop. No way Kadri was staynig on my roster though.. F that guy.
  7. Good lord.. the system drafted 5 RWs and 1 LW... well that's a problem
  8. Did I still have a team? I was traveling yesterday so I guess no way I could have participated. Guess I do have a team... my lineup sucks. Should be awesome. Who knows how much time I can even devote to this...
  9. The Sabres play real hockey tomorrow. That's all I care about. REAL. HOCKEY. So does the rest of the league, so that's a bonus.
  10. Nah, it's always blank for me. I support the team, the players come and go. It's a business. If I put anything on it, it would only be a player however. I wouldn't put the other things suggested like 50, season 50, etc. I'm not saying people shouldn't.. I just wouldn't.
  11. Well, my guess is that these guys all know each other for the teams and have each others backs. So, when an Arizona player gets out of line in Toronto the favor gets returned. I think it's quite reasonable to believe things like that happen.
  12. So when does he get removed from the EA Sports NHL 20 cover? What an idiot he is.
  13. At one point I had aspirations of a political life. I could only imagine how some of the things I had done in my past would come back now. Granted, I've never done anything that would be construed as racist by then or now standards. However, there are certainly other things that would not pass today's litmus test.
  14. Did they? Just because they had to use him that way does not mean they wanted to use him that way. I'm not going into the round and round over some guy named Ryan and that his departure meant the Sabres were all about Mittlestadt as 2C. Sometimes you have to make a move that will force you to rely upon someone in a position you know they aren't suited to be in. If nothing else, and if the truth is that they viewed Mittlestadt as a good 3C, then it lends more credence that they felt very strongly that 91 had to go. Either way, just because they used Mittlestadt at 2C does not mean they thought it was the best spot for him.
  15. To me this would be the worst part of things at this point. If he has called out others for things they have done in the past he probably should not have done so when he had his own skeletons. As for the situation itself. I am tired of hearing about what people have done in the past when it relates to judging who they are now. While each past event should be judged on its own, so too should be the evolution of the person in question. People make mistakes, and sometimes, in some social circles, you may be prone to making some choices that seem perfectly fine at the time. It's only later, when we grow wiser, that we realize how ignorant the decision was. Holding these things over people's heads ignores everything else they've done in their lives. Judge them as a whole, not as a part. I am sure we are all full of mistakes, which, if brought to light now, may damn us to eternity in the same ways that some of these past moments of poor judgment are used to judge those in the public light.
  16. I would imagine they do it the same way Sabrespace posters endure the off-season. ?
  17. The half-empty was the Pilsner. It was full not 6 minutes prior to that photo being taken. It was empty less than another 6 minutes after. I then had the Red Ale. The wife has the Irish Stout. I stayed away from the IPAs intentionally. It was midday drinking and I was, in theory, keeping it calm. ? The beer was good. The food was decidedly mediocre. Oh well, can't win them all. Tomorrow night we'll be at Seven Story brewing in Bushnell's Basin. They're a real favorite and being right on the canal is awesome.

I am currently using a Meraki MX64. We are Meraki partners, so I completed the CMNA training and they shipped me a free stack - MX64, MR33, MS108 with full licensing for 3 years. It's really nice. ? I had an Aerohive XR600 before that (I still have it) but I like the Meraki better. If I were buying something I would probably buy a $300 router from TP-Link.
  19. The number of contracts coming off the books leaves open the possibility of tooling the roster to its true potential. Tampa will be in a tough situation to keep all their players, Boston will be getting a bit too old, Toronto.. well. hah. Contracts expiring at the end of this season for Buffalo: UFA: Sobotka, Sheary, Vesey, Girgensons, Larsson, Wilson, Bogosian, Scandella, Hunwick RFA: Reinhart, Rodrigues, Mittlestadt, Montour, Ullmark, Thompson, Olofsson, Lazar Rostered: Eichel, Skinner, Okposo, Johansson, Ristolainen, Miller, McCabe, Dahlin, Hutton Basically, they can let the UFAs walk or trade this year and get something. They can qualify whomever they want for RFA and sign them. Only Reinhart will really be a question mark with regards to contract. They will have money open to make things happen.
  20. Today is the wife's birthday, and as I usually do, I take the day off and we go where she wants.. Today's morning was a hike at Harriet Hollister park and then a stop at Irish Mafia. We usually turn these things into multi-day events. It's fun.
  21. This is dark right now.

From a consumer router perspective, I've had incredible performance from TP-Link. The Archer AC1900 AC2600, AC3150 should work well. It depends a lot on how much space you want to cover and the composition of your walls, etc. You can invest in a router that allows application prioritization (QoS). It's port only, but the concept is that it will throttle back other traffic being allowed out the port so that your prioritized application is not hindered. If you want to prioritize by device you'd need to spend a bit more than that. I haven't used consumer routers in a few years.. my Archer C9 was my last one. It was solid in terms of coverage area and CPU/RAM for handling the traffic flows. I currently show 34 connected devices in my house. So, I need something a bit beefier. ? It's often used improperly, that's for sure.
  23. Maybe they should put more money into their employees and less paying for emu trainers.
  24. Meh. This has no bearing on trading Ristolainen. There's no way the organization is all in on making the playoffs this year anyway. They are setting up for next year. You don't have to like it, but with where Toronto, Boston, and Tampa currently sit, the mountain they need to overcome is pretty high. Get him healthy, the season is long.

Speed tests are nothing more than a representation of throughput between two points on a network for a specific period of time. However, the Internet is a big place and it changes constantly. The Internet does not obey QoS tags. But yes, a network provider can prioritize certain locations, etc. So, a speed test can be influenced by many factors. Your catvideo reference is a good one. You may have 1G service, but the other end of the network may throttle your connection, so, you can get mad that you are not getting 1G of throughput but it's really that the other end isn't sending that fast. It's like talking to someone who speaks very slow. You can't make the conversation go faster, despite how fast your brain can process information. I appreciate their attempt to over-simplify things for the common consumer, but that information is 100% not accurate. The problem with saying that is that someone is going to try and test it. Most consumer routers can't even handle 94 different traffic flows, regardless of the bandwidth utilization. On top of that, you have to account for the additional overhead on packets generated by 94 different traffic flows which reduces the amount of throughput. Then there's latency, packet loss, etc. to account for it all. Sigh...
