The whole idea of keeping Leino next year to hit cap floor is ludicrous. Isn't this the only time where the Sabres can buy him out? Do people actually want this guy taking up cap space after next year (when the team is actually going to need all the money possible for free agents)? There is no chance in hell Leino is on this team next year if in fact this is a one time buyout. If not, and they can buy him out AFTER next year, fine.

I got a great picture last night of Roby and my son. I told him he was part of a breed of men with true class that there just does not seem to be enough of in this world.

First game I will be going to in 2 months and it actually means something! What more could I ask for as we need this one to lock in the Isle at number 4. It will be nice to actually cheer for a victory today with the whole family on hand. Does anyone know if they will be giving away the player jerseys again this year or what that a unique situation last year?

Can we please take a look at the historically bad roster before judging ANYTHING about the coach of this team. This team is awful, I mean AWFUL and I can't believe these games are not not 10-0 every single night. Forget the forwards playing right now and the injuries to the few NHLers on this team, they are playing the 4th (if not 5th) string goalie. This team is impossible to judge right now.....

Am I sure that this team will not be more exciting and interesting to watch in October? yes. Remember, we are not talking about wins and losses here, we are talking about how this roster, as it stands right now, is mostly filled with guys who would not crack the lineup of another NHL team. At least next year, we will see SOME of the futures while adding the excitement of the upcoming draft.

the whole point to this is that right NOW, we have the worst lineup in Sabres history....thus rock bottom.

There will be plenty of growing pains but my goodness, they could not POSSIBLY be as boring as there are right now. Boring = Rock Bottom to me

I can say with much confidence that in my lifetime, I will never see a more incompetent lineup than the one I see now. To me, that means the darkest days are DEFINITELY behind us. Not having Miller and Vanek in limbo anymore combined with players like Leino, McBain, Ellis and D'agostini being gone, yes - darkest days behind. They may not be good next year but at least we can watch the future of this team grow together while adding some pieces.

With the youth already in the system, the draft picks in waiting, along with what seems to be a capable GM and coach, I believe the Sabres are far better off than many teams out there. I would rather be in Buffalo's position over any of those teams below and in a year or 2, that list will hopefully grow quite a bit. The darkest days are behind folks, I have no doubt about that. Next season will be much better to see some of the future on the ice but as far as the record, I would get used to the point total you see right now. It is going to SUCK sending off that burning pile of dollar bills to pay for seasons again........

Montreal played a great, inspired game last night that was awesome to watch. I can't even remember what it feels like to care if this team wins or loses (let alone have an atmosphere like it was in Boston last night.) Montreal is going to run over our guys tonight as they will springboard off that emotional win. It is getting tougher and tougher to even look at that lineup posted above......
