  1. For those that are interested.
  2. Just wear a papper, we have those and full hazmat suits too. Honestly, let me get it, quarantine me for 14 days and let me come back to kick some Corona ass. Honestly even if we had it, ain't no one going home
  3. I don't know if people will say that, but I also don't know how many deaths we'll have if it doesn't flatten out. Some may die, most won't and this overall immunity in 2 weeks time would put this to rest for quite some time. Flattening the curve is really there to help from not overloading the health care system. I will say this, the health care system is overloaded most days of the year without this stuff going around. Dr. Fauci is an immunologist, probably a decent doctor, but just because he directs some big program doesn't make him right. Especially when the government is involved. (and this isn't meant to be political in any way) just the way the health world works, once involved in administration at any level, including federal, you lose a lot of what made you a good doctor and become what you need to, to keep that cushy position.
  4. They're over in the PPE cart, I was just "fitted" for my mask, obviously if that had possible Corona contact it wouldn't be on my face there ?
  5. I don't even know who he is honestly, as I don't follow news or politics well. I will say this, most physicians in that position haven't been real doctors in years. Same as physicians in administration in hospitals. The medications for influenza are basically placebo, so not having a medication isn't a big deal. And no vaccine isn't really a deal breaker, as the influenza vaccine has been mostly crap for a good part of a decade now. As for my stance, I am hoping the hysteria comes to an end in a few weeks, I think the illness is still not going to be as severe as we think, gut feeling, whatever you want to call it.
  6. Thanks for the kind words all, but I am certainly no hero for doing my job, it's takes all walks of life to make the world go round. Let's hope for a swift return to normalcy
  7. I get It, I saw people basically running over each other, black Friday style just for basic things, humanity is not a pleasamt sight at this time. When it comes to the news and the media, that is where I have a bit of an issue. Social separation is fine, and being informational and educational about this in the correct way would go a long way with this. But instead of helpful PSA's we are basically getting fear mongering. This is a very tough issues we are facing and there appear to be 2 distinct sides, from my medical training I am finding it hard to believe all of this over this virus. From someone not medically trained, I can see how this would seem like doomsday. My hope is that in 2-4 weeks max, we start seeing the light. I'm not hoping people get infected by any means, but my gut tells me many have and have made it through before the hysteria even started.
  8. As of right now, the deaths I see from influenza, cancer, heart disease and etc are gravely higher than this Coronavirus. I worked through H1N1, and I do a lot of epidemiologic work in the 3rd world. I'm not trying to downplay this whole thing, but I do belive the fact that every death and every new case being thrown in our face is making this seem worse than it actually is (at this point). If this was ebola, or leprosy or something with tangible severe outcomes then yes, this is all warranted, but this is essentially the flu, in a loose sense of the word. And we are acting like flu season has never happened. I am also far too cynical from being in this career, so I will admit that isn't helping me in my stance on this. I just wish common sense would take hold more in the general public
  9. Patient zero ???
  10. Because they're overreacting.
  11. I'll start by saying that social media has done much more damage than good in the world, it's certainly not helping in this particular case. Medically speaking, I don't think we have enough info as of yet, but I do belive it's getting blown up more than it needs to be. Sure it's a bad virus, but if they named it influenza C and didn't report every single death on television, I think we would be looking at a much different situation. The mass hysteria to this is what I am honestly having a hard time dealing with, I would take an educated guess that 20% of the population has already had this and are immune to it. But alas, here we are dealing with a "pandemic" and "crisis" I wish I could quarantine myself until people calm the f down
  12. I will be back at the hospital starting in the morning. There are already so many measures in place, I have to immediately be fitted for a N95 mask which means I have to shave my beard (very sad as I just got a little tan, and now it'll look weird ??) From what I've heard from colleagues, it's been nothing short of hell on earth, and these are the things that we signed up for when we went into this field. I'll try and post a little bit more on this subject as I face it head on and have a better feel personally, there is too much noise/chaos/hysteria coming from all those noise boxes. I really need to see this in action.
  13. Actually, I did find a great deal on a Cab Sauv today ? And it's Mingala.... Too soon?
  14. NS is perfectly safe and well, in my basement....
  15. Robert Plante needs to be in on the vocals. Resurrection of Doc for drums. Same for Randy Rhodes on electric. Victor Wooten on Bass
  16. I'm very torn on this issue, I just left a socialist country and things from my oculus did not look well regarding the general public, even those who get payed monthly by the govt. I don't think the owners are responsible per se for the circumstances that have been occuring, at least not legally. However in an ethical sense I would hope there would be some emotion behind the scene. The morality of man really rears its head these days when things aren't going so swimmingly. Sad state of humanity
  17. Well, since ya put it that way....
  18. I use fb to keep in touch with my African kiddos and to share some of my travel adventures with those that appreciate seeing them. Other than that I really don't want to have a platform at all. SS is without a doubt nothing similar to those platforms in many ways. I love it here and have been a member for like a decade. Instagram in particular has made traveling a mini hell, everyone just HAS TO have that perfect BS instaphoto with filters and nonsense portraying a false life. The vanity I see in my explorations is beyond words sometimes. I'm all for a pic with certain things, but it's usually 1 pic in the moment and not staged and nonsense. It's just a different generation now, sadly at 35 there is clearly a big difference in those that are younger than I and a lot of it is because technology and social media. I'd be more worried about Jack wanting out from the team on the ice surrounding him instead of what his social media is doing.
  19. Just touching everything and then touching other things. Sure, your hands may be OK, but you're not actually helping the spread of anything. Also saw people touching their face with gloves, coughing into the glove, not changing them, etc. We aren't a smart population, us homosapiens
  20. I haven't trusted a politician ever. Or any hospital administrators for that matter. But then again, I find it hard to trust many people in general. But cynicysm aside, this can be handled a lot better if we used the media to give medical info/advice and calmly explained things. But, it's 2020,so that won't happen
  21. Where would the fun be in that!
  22. Ugh, OK.... Yesterday I flew into Miami and then NYC, the number of people wearing masks and improperly using gloves was remarkable. The education on this needs to be better. 2nd, this virus is only dangerous to the very young, the very old, and those with multiple co-morbid conditions. I would guess that half of those that get it, would be fine in a week without ever knowing they had it. The bad part, the incubation period seems to be longer than the normal influenza A or B, and the consequences of this respiratory virus can be attributed to that of SARS, also can cause concurrent pneumonia and possible ARDS (but so can any virus) The mass hysteria we are seeing is beyond what should be happening, I just simply don't understand it, not even a little. Toilet paper for a respiratory virus, cmon people. Social media, "news", etc have ruined this planet. If we want to beat this, stay home, wash your hands, don't be an idiot. Simple as that. My job is now pure Sh1t because of this, every single time an outbreak of anything happens, fear and panic make it 10000x worse than it needs to be.
