The forecast discussion page on the NWS site is literally just that, a discussion. Sometimes the forecasters contradict each other based on their reading of the model ouputs. There was a meteorologist that retired last year, I think, that was particularly open in his discussions. That is a nerd page.

It’s a problem of Buffalo’s creation. I think getting goalie depth right is a basic GM responsibility. He’s on his third swing at it now. VSTOL performance is required now. The long runway is long gone.

Noone thought Gretzky’s records could be broken. I wanna see this one broken. There is little that is more entertaining generally than a good record chase. I’m not sure Ovie has 2 more good seasons in him to get it done. His skating is rapidly leaving him. But I’ll watch and hope just for the entertainment value. Regarding the next player to break it, don’t underestimate Matthews. That guy is a goal scoring machine. If he keeps it up into his mid 30s he’ll be right there.

Sabres had same lottery chances as P burgh that year. I think there may have been a 3rd team as well, but not sure.

Frustratingly high risk for a fanbase that has sat on the sidlines in April-May for 13 seasons. Regarding the goalie situation AND the implied coaching situation.

Noone seems to be answering the basic question Inky asked. Even after a clarification. Reading comprehension are hard.

Compared to what we have now? ***** yeah. I mean, the choices are: Won a round in the playoffs last year, and missed this year vs. doesn’t have a single player that saw a playoff game as a Sabre and will Miss again this year. No. *****. Brainer.

Indiana just passed a law that was made retroactive to 1999, so yes, in some areas you can make a law that is retroactive.

I think I get what Inkman is asking. If you knew your team was going to play .500 hockey and miss the playoffs, would you be more entertained watching a frustratingly streaky offense dominant team like what we have now, or a Ted Nolan type team with a bunch of rabble rousers. You have to admit, those rabble rousers were entertaining most of the games they played. This version? Ehhh not as often. Loved me some rabble rouser Sabres. Highly entertaining nearly every night. Even with the current climate regarding fighting, a team of rats could still bring alot of fans into the arena just for the scrums and emotional play. In the end, I don’t care. I’m a broken fan. Terry has alot of work to do to get me back to what I was.
