I seem to recall a local Sabres reporter mention on the Twitters (a few days ago, maybe) that Quinn is done for the year. Maybe Adams wanted wiggle room in his statement, and the reporter doesn’t need wiggle room. Maybe it was an educated guess. Maybe he was fed different info than Adams stated. Dont know. Dont care. Just posting something I recall scrolling across.

Hence my 2nd paragraph. My suspicion is, if he didn’t pull the clown act on his way off the ice as a <30 day employee of the NHL, the standard wrist slap and stern look would have applied. He went for the heel routine and got a much bigger ding.

Most aren’t asking Power to be a bruiser. Almost all of us are asking for him to start physically engaging. He is at Phil Housley level of non-physicality. That just doesn’t work if you aren’t a HOF level talent.

It’s a fair question. Id say it’ll be right about when they are within a game of catching 8th place. Until then they pretty much have nothing to lose. I like K-9’s response though. The pressure should be there in game 1 next season.

I am pleasantly surprised it was 4 games. Usually first offenders get the stink eye and told next time they’ll be a first offender again. I suppose being in the league less than one month and clowning the other team was too much to not suspend.

Well, that’s a bit disheartening, but not unexpected. I suppose it’s good that he believes in what he is building. I am more than ready for ownership to tell him the sand is running out, however.

Yeah, I agree. Fading away is the natural end to a HOF franchise player. I’d appreciate more if more players faded that way. Then again, its what we saw here with Perreault so it seems natural.

The expectation was that he’d return around the holidays, definitely not relatively early in the season. December-January was always the discussed timeframe.

How does the team know if I sell my tix? Is there an electronic transfer that the team performs?

I just don’t see Captain material on this roster right now. I suppose Ras makes the most sense off the current roster, but that seems as much an indictment of the roster as it is a compliment to Ras. I’m just not impressed by the options.

And that has been pointed out since Christmas. The real hurdle isn’t Detroit. It is ALL of the teams we need to leapfrog. Outpacing one team that you are X points behind is one thing. Outpacing 3 or 4 teams is highly unlikely.

If you want a captain that knows more than losing in the NHL you should pick one of Tuch, Clifton or Byrum.

Kulich and Kozak aren’t ready for the NHL. Tyson Jost can handle it without getting crushed.
