  1. Who was Girgs telling to F off as they entered the tunnel? He certainly was furious.
  2. Detroit is not getting our GMTM in any trade! :)
  3. I wonder if Cowher would be interested in being Pegula's football guy? Since he is supposedly still wanting the NYG job and until Coughlin retires he's sorta free. After all they have a Pittsburgh connection.
  4. Worst case is the proverbial 9th place in the conference, not being in the middle seeing as we still get a top 10 pick. In some ways we have pulled off in 1 year what Edmonton has been trying to accomplish in 7; a hard working team that facilitates the entry of young skilled players. We may have bottomed out a year early, but it is a good sign we aren't still as bad in regards to player development.
  5. I noticed that as well, he seemed genuinely happy they won. And even joked about them being unable beat teams with skill. I wonder if the old core had become defeatist and this team being young and rambunctious has won Stafford over in some sense. This game was fun to watch and great to see the youngsters plugging away at the 3 goal defecit. I loved seeing the fans give them a standing ovation; they honestly deserved it.
  6. No thx, I will be holding onto Zadorov and Risto regardless.
  7. Merry Christmas Sabrespace and a Happy New Year. My prediction, Ennis will swap 3 fruit cakes, 2 wreaths, and an old Leino jersey with Gionta for $5 and a conditional 1st round present in 2016.
  8. Well done good sir, well done indeed. How about the Night Before Christmas?
  9. If I'm at 3 I'll just take Hanifin, I might throw an offer to Arizona/Edm of the 3 pick, 2 of the 3 picks after that(2 1s and a 2) and offer Myers in place of a 1st/ Pysyk in place of a 2. I'm not going to trade Risto, Zadorov, Girgs, or Reinhart to move up 1 spot in the draft regardless of the player. We can win either way, Hanifin makes Myers truly expendable and the 2 other firsts done correctly can fetch us great prospects or a higher pick with a greater prospect. They make the trade, we take a franchise player without losing anything massive in the rebuild. I'll put it simply, I refuse to tear apart parts of the rebuild, and further delay it in order to get a single player.
  10. Why am I in no way surprised by that..... Can someone tell me the last time a Bruin was actually suspended for a dirty hit?
  11. Zadorov really seems to be coming into his own as of late, he making sound plays; and when he screws up he does a good job not panicing and rather typically fixes it. Risto, gets back on top in the D man scoring leader race. Seems as if he and Z are in a competition over that doesn't it? Sad to see them lose after all that effort, but kudos to that young team.
  12. Get McTavish drunk and convince him Mez is the next Bobby Orr
  13. Grigs looks better tonight, and if Pysyk continues like this we may need to trade a Dman. Mezaros or Benoit would be who id offer since Myers should only be dealt if we get a ton of assets
  14. Hey guys, just thought of something! We trade Adam to the Pens for Crosby! ???? I'm going to miss using him as trade bait.
  15. Ummm, they have the same name as one of our rivals in the NFL.
  16. Certainly, if we only had to trade that for someone I'd be happy.
  17. No, a thousand times. Pysyk, Grigs, and their choice of NYI or STL's 1st and our 2nd rounder would be about my limit. I might throw in a random forward prospect. If Myers is the D-man they desire I'd offer Myers, Hodgson and a conditional 1st of the our two extras if Hall turns it around To me the core is Zadorov and Risto, we need them both and offensively Girgs and likely Ennis. Those 4 are untouchables in my chart.
  18. I wouldn't mind Hall, but I'm completely unwilling to part with Risto, Zadorov, Girgs, or our 1st rounder.
  19. That OT goal was a thing of beauty by the young core. Girgs forechecking and working the puck to give Ennis room, Ennis making moves and passes, Zadorov's first shot misses due to a deflection but Girgs and Ennis outwork Florida, Girgs gets it back to Ennis, Girgs boxes out the two D-men for Ennis who spies a sneaky Nikita gives him a perfect pass to which he puts top shelf. It was just beautiful.
  20. I certainly hope this is made up... which I would assume based on the lac of a link and the extremeness of its statement.
  21. I think Kopitar was furious by the end of the game, he thrusted his stick into the concrete as they walked off after the game and I can understand why. Most of the game Girgs was his shadow and he was flattened by a big 19 year old. Great win!
  22. I'd love it, especially because then we'd have a Great Dane to go with our Latvian Locomotive. Sadly, I doubt Arizona would trade him. Edmonton might work too, they seem hellbent on getting a #2 center and Hodgson is that.
  23. Edmonton is the ultimate example of how not to build a team, and actually gives me more faith in our rebuild to be honest. Edm: Many high picks, all but one were practically carbon copies Vet presence was mediocre or non-existent at best aside from Smyth. Poor Andrew Ference is practically on an island out there. Trades have aimed to plug holes, even in the beginning Buf: Fewer high picks thus far, however we've drafted a wide-array of prospects Vet presence was ok last year, this year they worked their way into literally getting a small leadership team of Gionta and Georges (I honestly feel that was genius since they are of different positions, both seasoned, and both can give stories from Montreal from different views) (Sorta like how a coach likes to bring in his guys because they compliment each other's skills) For proof look at the draft picks the last 8 drafts in comparison. 2007 No Pick 2008 NHL Entry 1 26 Tyler Ennis F 2008 NHL Entry 1 12 Tyler Myers D 2009 NHL Entry 1 13 Zack Kassian F 2010 NHL Entry 1 23 Mark Pysyk D 2011 NHL Entry 1 16 Joel Armia F 2012 NHL Entry 1 14 Zemgus Girgensons F 2012 NHL Entry 1 12 Mikhail Grigorenko F 2013 NHL Entry 1 16 Nikita Zadorov D 2013 NHL Entry 1 8 Rasmus Ristolainen D 2014 NHL Entry 1 2 Sam Reinhart F 6 Fs, 4 Ds 2007 NHL Entry 1 21 Riley Nash F 2007 NHL Entry 1 15 Alex Plante D 2007 NHL Entry 1 6 Sam Gagner F 2008 NHL Entry 1 22 Jordan Eberle F 2009 NHL Entry 1 10 Magnus Paajarvi F 2010 NHL Entry 1 1 Taylor Hall F 2011 NHL Entry 1 19 Oscar Klefbom D 2011 NHL Entry 1 1 Ryan Nugent-Hopkins F 2012 NHL Entry 1 1 Nail Yakupov F 2013 NHL Entry 1 7 Darnell Nurse D 2014 NHL Entry 1 3 Leon Draisaitl F 8 Fs, 3 D However Alex Plante hasn't played since 2011-2012 and played 10 total in his career
  24. Girgs, Risto, and Zadorov are untouchables in my book. Would I trade Ennis for Eberle straight up, yes. would I trade him for Ennis + Myers, no unless they add their 1st rounder. I wonder if Arizona would be interested in Hodgson, Regier was certainly high on him. I'm very reserved in regards to trading with Boston unless we get something pretty special in return.
  25. #1&2 Sabres win #3 was a draw but only due to the lack of actual fighting, Kaleta punched him and McCormick pinned him, no real fight to win.
