  1. The main issue there is the injury creep. A team could get in major trouble if they lost a top player for a couple games. Seeing as LTIR requires a week out. My suggestion would be a 10% cap overage for the starting lineup each playoff game. You can call up 40 players but only 83.5 + 10% (so 8.35mil) can play in any game
  2. The White Goat heads were our Reverse Retros, our Black Goat heads were our official 3rd Jersey
  3. Actually the black jerseys are officially our 3rd jersey and will be back for the foreseeable future
  4. Probably pulled due to re-aggravating his injury.
  5. My guess is the starters play against Ottawa to honor the fans, then any injured player gets sat for CBJ and they play all the random dudes we have
  6. Guy with cane leans forward; what else In regards to Graves, I’d be cautious since he effectively ended our season with his stick stop on Skinner. Last time we signed someone who did that it was the clothing creator #23
  7. Based on what Adams inferred, Arizona wanted overpay for Chychrun. Also, every year is different but there are very general rules of thumb to go by. You buy rentals when you are competing for the Stanley Cup, you sell when wanting better or more draft picks and otherwise you make the best moves you can that improve the team without harming other parts. This year there is a literal juggernaut in the 1st seed. My honest question to you would be; would you trade Savoie or Kulich for a rental if you were assured a playoff berth against Boston? I certainly wouldn’t; in my opinion you always want at least 1 or 2 good/great prospects in the system at minimum as protection against busts or injury. This upcoming offseason would be the time to make some maneuvers outside those two. Barring a Top 5 pick due to winning the lottery and going up 10 spots, I’d be willing to use my 1st to get a solid player for use in the next few years. The rest of the prospect pool and picks also become assets for potential use up to a point. We‘d have a fresh season, mindset and all of our rookies would be more seasoned and our top prospects on the cusp of the NHL.
  8. Savoie and Kulich are not 3/4 years away
  9. I hope that every time they struggle or get too high they remember the utter despair they felt last night and know they need to work harder in order to prevent that awful feeling.
  10. Really the issue with this line of thinking comes down to the sheer improbability of advancing out of the 1st round. There was no singular or 2/3 players we could of conceivably brought in to beat Boston in Round 1. As such, using Top prospects and picks wouldn't make much sense. Trading Savoie or Kulich to get a rental in order to have the "honor" of getting our faces caved in by the Bruins is terrible asset management. You steal from the future to get a chance to win the Cup; not in order to merely make the playoffs.
  11. To be honest I think he's planning to retire. Adams would likely welcome him back 1 more year but he may just honestly be out of the physical ability to do it
  12. They fought to the bitter end and literally ran out of gas by the end. Maybe this run will get UFAs actually interested in coming here.
  13. Legally in my opinion; Kakko came well into the crease to make his deke; a goalie should have at least some degree of allowance to protect his crease. Especially in shootouts. Power's was borderline but we've all seen far worse.
  14. Good news: It took Levi 4 + games to give up a goal he should of got
  15. The worst Buffalo can do is 3-0-1 and make the playoffs still. FLA faces TOR and CAR which bodes pretty well in our favor. NYI plays WSH and MTL, not great PIT plays CHI and CBJ, a literal joke. Now technically we only need 2 of the 3 to trip in order to sneak up in with a sweep.
  16. To be honest, I love watching Toronto jump through hoops
  17. Carolina’s D is literally suffocating us.
  18. Thompson's injury is preventing him from taking Faceoffs
  19. I'll give Levi a mulligan on the 1st GA since it ramped off Tuch's blade and rose quickly. Besides the 6th GA he was mostly a victim of bad luck and a couple terrible gaffes defensively and one super play by Larkin.
  20. Looked like Bush got a tiny amount on it
  21. There isn’t exactly a Walmart for Top4 D that KA can merely walk in and pay for. I think he understands there’s an issue with our current Defense. Last year he brought in Lybushkin, this year he brought in Stillman and targeted Chychrun. He is specifically looking for bigger more defensively skewed Dmen that fall within a certain age group. He gave Bryson a chance along with Fitzgerald, Pilut and Clague and none of them truly picked it up and ran with it. Bryson is built like an offensive defenseman but rarely generates offense and is physically overwhelmed in our zone. Pilut is very much Bryson 2. Fitzgerald was meant to be our RHD depth but the freaking Panthers stole him to only sit in their press box. Clague has been good for spells like the others but is terribly inconsistent in general. As such he acquired Stillman for his size and potential to fight for the 3LHD spot and depth. And targeted Chychrun to better fill the Top 4. This tells me that he very well May of hoped for a Defense of Dahlin, Samuelsson, Power, Chychrun, Jokiharju and Lybushkin with Stillman and Bryson as extras. Clague being waived and then brought back up after the roster opened.
  22. Actually he would due to how College signings work. He was Sabres property playing in college; he can be signed and play like if he was signed prior
  23. Heartbreaking way to more or less end the season; came out strong but between the offside goal and the 5 straight special teams situations it sort of played right into the hands of the more experienced team. BS interference call with a lucky bounce gets them tied. Sabres were mediocre at best in the 2nd The 3rd was Florida for 1 minute where they got their goal and then we slowly tilted the game to a degree but sticks were tight and FLA was allowed to play interference. In the end Levi did great which is a great sign for the future. Thompson's injury seems to be throwing his timing off a tad and lessening his ability to move. He seems to be like an avalanche that needs time to warm up for a few games before getting into TNT mode. Well, go sweep the rest of the year boys and maybe you can get a miracle.
