I could see this one being a win. Florida is down to their #3 goalie I believe. Haven't been great. If Sabres come to play, I could see a W here

Logically, the islanders don't need him and need goaltending, but it's snow in charge so there's a good chance their one big move will be acquiring Kane. It could work, just have to continue to score more then you can let in! I wouldn't be surprised to hear that in any deal the Islanders are looking to make they are dangling Ho-Sang in it. Just sounds like someone they need to move on from. He has the potential but needs the supervision/guidance to help him mature so he wouldn't be a great candidate for here or to room with Kane (I can picture him as a Kane type clone where attitude/maturity is going to be the knock on him and hold him back)

so you can bring up 2 teams to say that tanking is worth doing (even though neither truly tanked, they just sucked because of poor management and financial reasons) but I can't name 2 teams who have done similar and still suck? Tanking is not the answer and never is, having good management I place that knows what they are doing is whats the key. The pens didnt turn it around until after they were gifted Crosby and saved from bankruptcy. The Blackhawks didn't do anything until the son took over as owner and started to spend. The Avs and devils both had to start making moves and trading some of the guys they acquired from drafting so high to get other talent. The oilers tried doing what the devils have done now and it hasn't worked because of poor management. Finally turning things around after years of rebuilding/ sucking is not an argument that tanking is a smart move

Theres a way to get players for their rentals instead of pucks from playoff teams, three team deal. Sabres trade Kane tona team for pocks which are dealt to a team more interested in picks. Or they falloff assets for picks then flip those picks in moves to get players

I watched him since he was traded to the ice dogs the last 2 seasons and there never seemed to be an issue with him here. There were issues with him and the islanders, but I never heard of there being issues in Niagara. I read the article Bout him this year and it sounds like he is improving but still needs to mature more according to his coach Personally I think he needs to get moved from the islanders. He definitely has the talent to be Good, just needs to go somewhere and decide he needs to mature and take things seriously. I wouldn't give up a big assert for him, but a mid level pick might be worth it if the roster had some leaders that could get him to grow up

but when you hit those rinks, do you do it in your lexus? Kids play on backyard or other outdoor rinks all the time, but the majority of those kids aren't anywhere near the skill level of the kids that will play professional hockey. The ones that do don't end up having much time to play pond hockey or would be prohibited from doing so to not risk and injury probably....

Letang would be a salary dump for them to afford Kane, they aren't is g him to get anything good back. By taking him the Pens would have to add better picks and prospects to get Kane and Letangs salary off their books. If it was a straight up trade, JBott would deserve to not make it through the season and Pittsburgh should be charged with tampering cause he would obviously still be working for the Pens...

But it's not summer in Winterpeg.... They have to give us more stat days to want to stay and live in ON with Wynne in charge. You may not have all the vacation of everyone else, but at least you get to enjoy maritime living in NS

Here in ON it is a stat holiday, but IIRC most retail is permitted to now be open, but that only happened recently. Everything else is closed. that sucks, ON has "family day" in February instead along with Victoria day in May, and Thanksgiving in October. Remembrance day is typically only a government/bank holiday, along with Easter Monday here. Working in government, we work the day but get 2 lieu days instead to take when we want. Also theres civic holiday in August thats the same as Remembrance day and Easter Monday, but we get it off.

boxing day is a stat holiday, maybe not in NS but in most of the rest of the country it is. They had recently (maybe the last 10 years) allowed retail stores to open if they want those days to join restaurants but it's still a paid holiday yup, 100 years ago the NHL played it's very first game on December 17th 1917 with the Canadians vs Ottawa, so yes it is technicslly a Canadian holiday. In honor of this anniversary the NHL decided to have Toronto (of course) play the Hurricanes during the day and allow schools and kids to attend the game. Nothing says 100 years of NHL hockey like watching a team from Carolina play.....

Weight/restricting are just excuses to not wear them. The players now have worn them their entire life and made it into the nhl wearing one, why is it now so restricting? These guys don't want to wear them because it's not tough or manly to do so, like visors. Don cherry used to laugh at the sissy Russians for wearing visors.
