  1. I don't know. Edmonton had a lot of young better talent, but it was all in the same position (forward) McDavid allowed them to move some of the extra talent to fill some holes, and they finally hit on a bigger missing piece, goaltender, last year. Outside of Eichel and Sam are not comparables to the top picks that Edmonton had before McDavid.
  2. this team doesn't need more unknowns with potential. They have plenty of that. They need guys who can come in and be upgrades now. No more picks and prospects. For every name you listed, you can prob a my name 2 young players/prospects that had potential and did nothing.
  3. o said from the start that tanking was not the way to go, but everyone kept saying it had to be done to get his team over the hump and build a winner like Pittsburgh or Chicago. You can only get the best players by being the worst.
  4. i dont disagree, but i think where Darcy was hesitant to pull the trigger without being a clear winner, TM was the exact opposite where he would get too excited to get a guy he liked that he didn't care about the cost. Basically, DR would be the guy in the dealership haggling for hours to get the undercoating and tinting thrown in for free on a new car after walking away from other dealerships that wouldn't do it. TM would be the guy walking onto the dealership offering them more the the sticker price for a car he wanted just so he can get that exact one
  5. as in trading away players and rebuilding? Or using explosive/dynamite in the arena while they practice? I can argue for either option
  6. how about bringing back in guys who are proven and can play to help now? It never hurts leaving guys in the minors a little longer then needed
  7. problem with GMTM was that the other GM didn't have a problem pulling the trigger cause in most cases they were getting more then they should have for what the were giving up. I was all for getting Kane, but they gave up way too much for a guy the Jets were actively looking to dump and the Sabres were one of the only teams that could give the Jets something that could help them that year while taking a player who would t be healthy til the next year. I had no problems using prospects or picks in the deal, and no problem with dealing Myers or Stafford. Too much was given up to a team you almost had over a barrel. They could have kept a few of those assetts in another deal. Giving up a 1st (even a late one) for a goalie coming off big concussion issues and not proving much before the injuries is also an overpayment. SENS needed to move someone
  8. I just don't see it, he isn't the problem with the team right now, and not saying he can't become those guys, but how is he a game changer? Who is he making better out there? Okposo looked like a good deal for his contract he got with buffalo, but he hasn't looked the same without Tavares. Who can you say the same for with Eichel? Everyone talks about him being a leader/captain material, but this locker room is looking like a giant mess of guys who don't care or are just going through the motions. Jack has even at times look like hes just coasting
  9. no way, unless he retires/quits/goes insane. They made the coach and GM move and nothing is changing, now it's time to break up the locker room and make a change with the talent. And not just with the bottom 6, some big moves of some of the guys at the top
  10. just more excuses, and i dont fault Pomminstein for saying it, but c'mon, you 8 games in and can't be that worn down, you didn't play all 8 games on the road out west. I'm amazed how kids in the OHL can play 3 games in 4 days some weeks and yet nhlers argue about to many back to back?
  11. I have always thought Sabres fans overrated him. He is decent, but not what you would expect from a guy taken #2. But I also think Eichel is overrated in Buffalo too. I think he is closer to a Nugent-Hopkins/Hall/Eberle then a Malkin/Tavares/Stamkos type player( left McDavid, Matthews, and Crosby off this comparrison since there isnt one)
  12. lobotomy? Lindy Ruff/Ted Nolan? More tanking?
  13. I thought Jays fans at the dome were the only ones that still do That?
  14. Lol, sportsnet broadcasters talking about Johnson looking towards the bench already to leave the net Bet he just wants to get the heck out a here since he is one of the only o es giving a crap tonight Do they still count it as a shortie if the goalie is pulled?
  15. I think its more "a contract year" thing with him
  16. you know things are bad when you can say that At least I can watch the new expansion team if I'm looking for better played hockey
  17. it's been a few years. Expected different this year though....
  18. how about kicking a the press out of the press box and put those guys on the ice and the players up there?
  19. I have had no interest in going to games the last few years, even passed up a few freebies and stopped myself from getting centre ice so far this year. Spending more time going to Ice Dogs OHL games then following this trainwreck have you followed his moves as GM?
  20. first good move the Habs GM has made?
  21. Maybe they should be given points for making it through a PP without giving up a shortie? They'd still probably lose but At least it would make the games more competitive...
  22. well they are on the second night of a back to back, oh wait that's the Canucks, Sabres have been off for a few days. Maybe they still haven't recovered from Vegas?
  23. might just be another overpaid mediocre FA ripoff
  24. if that's the case the anytime it touches someone you have "Control" cause it will alter the movement of the puck
  25. I'd spend an hour breaking sticks over players heads until they start actually wanting to play. These are pros out there who spe t their lives playing this game, it shouldn't be so hard to be able to pass and play better then this.
