  1. I think they need to pass it a little more on the PP.....
  2. Watching Robin Lehner play, I cant believe Tim Murray wasn't being fought over when the Sabres let him go.... How were teams not banging on the Sabres door to get him at the deadline?
  3. Lol, the tsn guys were just talking about how Lehner isnt helping thw Sabres with his softees.... A Nylander just did something to help the Sabres.....
  4. wasn't ROR good at them on the Avs? that's the problem, this team struggles to score so it makes things worse having a goalie who doesn't make a few extra saves when needed. The better goalies in this league make the few extra saves when the team needs them to when they are struggling. How many feel comfortable that Lehner can hold a 1 goal lead for them to get a win? He isn't the only problem, but he still is a problem
  5. That hit looks more like he was surprised and crapping his pants... Of course it's Marchand so chances are he saw Duclair late and with first instinct tried to get out of the way then at the last minute remembered who he was and desperately tried to make a hit
  6. The key with Lehner is that he isn't the worst (most nights), but he isn't great either. Hes not the reason they are where they are in the standings, good or bad Today you need a goalie who can stand on their head and keep them in games when the rest of the team is struggling. Lehner hasn't shown he can do that. On a stacked team he may do enough to not cost them games, but he isn't going to steal wins when the team isn't playing well
  7. I thought it was protected for the top 10 according to tsn or sportsnet. They said that Ottawa might give them it this year to protect next year's pick that wouldn't be protected and could also be top 10
  8. Who would have thought that in a collision between a player and Bobby Ryan, that the other player would be the one leaving the game injured and Ryan would be back on the ice later.....
  9. Lehner might want to spend his off-season training to be an NHL goalie instead of MMA and trying to be a psychopath. He will be lucky to find a KHL job next year
  10. i wanted to know who let the snipper into the 300 level Looked like he had bee shot from up there when he went down. Watching the replays and playing beer league goalie myself, I can see both sides of this. At first I said he was out of his crease and no interference. Then some replays show he is still partially I the crease so interference could be called. Then I remembered it's the NHL and none of it would matter cause they will just flip a coin and call whatever. The goalie interference call in hockey seems to be their version of the catch rule in the NFL, no one really understands it, its not clearly written, and they never seem to get it right.... and which half? Left or right? top or bottom? Front or Back?
  11. Are the handful of Sabres fans who didn't sell their tickets to Leafs fans going to make some noise?
  12. I would bring him up for next season but as the #2, or maybe a #1b in a tandem Let him earn his way into the #1 role and take it from someone
  13. It was a given once an owner was interested and a place was available. NHL wants TO be in seattle
  14. only because TM gets over excited and gives up too much to get what he wants. He overpaid in the Kane deal, everyone knew Kane had to be moved and only the Sabres would take him out for the rest of that year and could give them something to help that year. What makes the deal bad is that they couldn't re-sign him and had to move him.
  15. Well the Rangers can go out in the off-season and sign FAs to help out if that's how they want to go. They normally have no trouble signing the top FAs...
  16. you have to have other teams willing to make a trade for those players, why is anyone giving up assets for Moulson? Nolan was already available when the Sabres picked him up. The rest are done a dozen players that teams could probably find players close to their caliber on waivers. Kane was way over hyped here in Buffalo. He was a good player with a damaged locker room reputation. He isn't and elite player
  17. money talks and if the NHL is paying........ Fans were turning quickly in TO, they needed this and the league needed Toronto to turn things around to help their Canadian TV deal. The NHL wants TO to be good.
  18. Didn't they say they were willing to retain salary in a deal for Kane?Might be that even with retention teams weren't willing to give up better picks or prospects for him. They would prefer to lose cash/cap space this year then a valuable pick or prospect
  19. Sabres most likely get their 1st the year after without protection. Seems to be how it's been done in the past
  20. Conditions will be on lottery and maybe how far they go in the playoffs. Won't be on re-signing as SJ appears to be saying that Kane is only a rental and won't be signing an extension
  21. this is even slower then usual, the deadline seems to be getting slower every year but this one in comparison seems to have fallen of a cliff
  22. TSN just showed a graphic of previous deadline and the number of trades and players moved and this is the slowest by a very large margin
  23. but you basically are by telling people it's wrong to ignore someone because of a certain reason. The ignore feature is there for a reason, its to give people a choice to co tinge on here without having to see or deal with people or posts they don't want to see or deal with. If it's because of someone's political preference/opinion, that's their choice and it shouldn't be brought up that they reconsider what they believe is a valid reason to block someone. It's obvious that this person has shared their views or opinions on the issue a few times or multiple people wouldnt have blocked them.
  24. here in Canada sportsnet and tsn start the deadline shows early but not much happens til at least 12-1, then things really ramp up
  25. kanes issues have been more behind the scenes lockerroom issues then stuff outside of it. In Winnipeg one of the leaders of the team who IIRC is black or at least part black, was the one taking issue with him, and they haven't had issues with him in Winnepeg. As for Atlanta, I can't picture that city having a racist view of a black player. As for the comparisons to the other Kane, as I mentioned previously, he is o e of the elite talented players in the league, and his issues are away from the ice, I don't recall hearing problems in the lockerroom from other teammates about him. Teams and media/fans seem more forgiving of issues when the player is of elite talent. Evander has never been in the level of elite NHL talent. If his issues were only off ice stuff and he was elite, teams wouldn't be as hesitant as they are now because his talent may not be enough to overcome a possible disturbance that may happen in the lockerroom. A team looking to trade for him today is not likely looking at him to fill one of their top spots like a team that would be willing to trade for the other Kane. So it's not fair to compare the 2 and say it's a race issue
